Hey /k/ I know this is a board for laotian basket weaving forum, but y'all seem like you're the types to prepare. Be it, martial law, government take over, emp, or a hike in wicker prices. What food do you have saved for the end times?

I have a couple of cans of that shit. Greasy af. But as for your question, I stockpile rice and beans. Then I vacuseal them and put them in containers with a bunch of dehumidifier packets and store them in one of my sheds. I would also have a raincatcher with a homemade filter so you can collect rain water, purify it, and drink it.

At around 3 AM my girlfriend and I were awoken by the sound of shattering glass next to our front door. It turns out that one of my steel beams for target shooting was the culprit and fell over. However,I haven't been so keyed up since I was deployed and I'm thankful for the sense of security I derive from my home defense firearm. In honor of this:

TL;DR: post your home defense weapons

If there were no Countries and governments, and companies had to fight one another, who would win?

Would it even be a defence company?

My money would be on BAE, they're huge and they make pretty much everything unlike other specialised defence companies.

Wallmart would be a close second, because muh logistics and army of employees.

>>
It's an AnCap's wet dream.
>>
Well with no government defense companies would have to work for other companies like Shadowrun.
Wallmart probably wouldn't weaponize greeters for PR reasons. They would contract with a company like Bae and Bae would have a PMC subsidiary.

So it would just be wars between defense conglomerates.

I'm planning on finally getting a concealed carry permit but now I'm torn on two weapon choices. Currently the top two contenders are the M&P Shield 9m and Glock-43. I've got to shoot the 43 a good bit and I love how it's made for high thumbs. I'm about to go to a range that rents out the shield to see how it performs shooting wise. So far from what I held both weapons feel good but for some reason I'm leaning towards the Shield it just seems more comfortable and can carry an extra round.

What are some other good choices around the same price point. I would look at an SR9C but shit's too expensive

Got a little jewed on the price but that's to be expected with stupid ass holidays.

Get talon grips and pearce grips for it, makes it much more pleasant to shoot
>>
Check your local gun range rules. Some don't want you shooting metal or steel cased ammo. Also those prices seem high.

Mauser for craftsmanship and accuracy, mosin for cost effectiveness. But really Mauser because it's just plain better made. Go pick up one and fondle it, then a mosin. Smooth vs rough, refined vs "my bayonet is also a screwdriver."

Noguns here thinking of hunting deer in grad school so I can stop buying beef. How important is it to start to learn shooting with a .22? Is it mainly an ammo price thing? Will the amount of ammo you use getting good on a .308 or something really going to be more expensive than the price of a .22 with ammo?
22 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Practice with a 22 for trigger time, it's quieter and more cost effective, you aren't sending long range power with each trigger pull. Your wallet and shoulder will thank you. In the end you will still want to shoot a box or two AFTER you sight in your 308, so that you can test a variety of distances. Just because you have a scope that is set for 300 yds doesn't mean that deer will appear at 300 every time, you need trigger time to know your gun at every distance. But to answer your question, get a 22 just to plink. It's just good fun.
>>
>>32342503
I second this

Get a 22 that can be scoped or even a air rifle (Benjamin np in 22cal). This will help you with scoping in your rilfe and shooting in varying distances with said scope.
That being said I use a mil dot scope for my air rilfe.
WARNING a scope designed for an gun powder rifle is not to be used with an air rifle. Air rifles need a much more durable scope due to the vibrations.
>>
>>32342503
And just as a side note, 308 is an excellent caliber but not the only caliber. I know many people who shoot deer with 223, it's cheaper for the gun and the ammo. this requires some expert shot placement, but also ruins less meat than high power rounds. Second side note, always remember range time should be with the same bullet type as your hunting rounds, don't shoot 170gr fmj at the range and 175gr sst's at animals. Shoot the same bullet at both for familiarity.

>turns out he has a degree for Electrical Engineering
>he is trying to be a human museum of hobo culture.

>he would visit a few times a year from then on out
So here is what he would do. Find a train. Find way onto train cars (since they started closing boxcars he found a creative way "his secret"), ride that shit, go town to town just exploring. He was rich from his former electric job and carried a debit card. He still did odd jobs for the hell of it, though. He died recently. He was visiting me when he had a heart attack. Guy was weird but well traveled. I inherited his gun. Pic related.

Inherited two guns from my grandpa, a commemorative SAA and a Westinghouse mosin, sporterized it himself. My grandpa used to tell my uncle, that gun put meat on the table all through the depression. It's just cool to see pictures of him as a young man with it at the old Montana homestead. Don't have pics of it on my phone but pic related for the SAA

Litterally why?

Yes, i know you want to make it F/A, but if you are going to risk 10 years in pound me in the ass fed prision, why the fuck would you choose an tec-9?

Get an AR, the gun itself is not illegal and its easy enough to be stupid with it and make it F/A

I have an AR with KAC Micro BUIS. I want to mount my Surefire M300 Mini Scout light at the 11 o'clock position (from the shooters POV). I'd like to do this with a cantilever offset mount attached to the top rail behind the front sight.

Would the Thorntail SBR Light mount (pic related) give enough clearance for this to work, or would there not be enough room due to the BUIS mounting screw? My front sight would be mounted where that flat-head screw is at the end of the rail in pic related (it would need more rail space, however) and I'm hoping there's enough space where the bezel meets the body of the light for the BUIS mounting screw to fit.

If not, can /k/ recommend any other mounting options? Thanks guys

>>
>>32341929

Anon, I had a Thorntail SBR Mount with an M300C on it once upon a time, and I think you could get the proper clearance. You would have to mount the BUIS right near the bezel, and mount the Thorntail SBR on the 9 o clock rail and not the 12 o clock rail for the extra room. I base this on having the light with the mount and, not a Micro BUIS, but a KAC Rail Mounted QD point, which should bolt on with a similar clamp and screw.

I would also consider looking at the new American Defense Manufacturing Offset Scout Mounts. I say I used to have an M300C on the Thorntail SBR because I upgraded to the AMD Offset Mount for dat sweet QD action.

I will bump with pics.
>>
>>32342114
Thanks man I'll look into the ADM QD mount
