We live in an anglocentric century.

It's always the British or Americans in any movie, book, video game, etc.

The other ones get shoved besides or they half-assedly talk about them.

The worst thing is that non-anglos see nothing wrong with this.

It's a film made for the american audience. It's already surprising that Hollywood makes a movie about without american soldiers in it. You can't confuse them by showing french soldiers on top of that.

Well, considering what proportion of Hollywood and internationalised media is made up of Anglos, no shit.

When Bollywood wants to start doing something a bit more serious on a proper budget with non-hammy acting, or Chinese mainstream film industry do something more contemporary/controversial than another fucking "journey to the west" or "romance of the three kingdoms" interpretation, we might see more variety.

On demand streaming does seem to be improving things, however. I am optimistic that more foreign niche films and TV will have a platform to be shared internationally in a way that allows monetisation (instead of torrents and bootlegs).
