>Less capacity of 9mm
>Same ballistics as 9mm
>Marginally more energy than 9mm
>Ammo is expensive as fuck
>Meant to duplicate 357 magnum. Not even close.
>bottleneck
>Extractor issues most guns
>10mm or 40s&w are more advantageous
>>32330174
It was basically a round to provide 357 magnum characteristics in a semi auto package that never caught on. A lot of it stemmed out how the FBI used to carry 357 magnum revolvers as their standard sidearms and wanted to transition to a semi auto platform. It hasn't really caught on as you pointed out and with 10mm and .40s&w, it's been mostly relegated to just a few agencies and the secret service who seem to like it a lot. Its main strength is its ability to punch through barriers at super high velocities out of a semi platform, which is what I recall was one of the main purposes of the round development.
>>32330174
It comes real close to duplicating some .357mag loads, iirc 127gr out of a 4" barrel 357mag or something.
What you get from .357sig is 2 things:
1. Excellent penetration out of a 9mm sized pistol. Really that's what it's known for.
2. Flat trajectory as you start to push the range.
Personally, I think for anywhere that brown bear aren't a concern, that's a really ideal choice for an innawoods gun and as a side note, I think carbine taking .357sig Glock mags would be cool too.
>>32330174
Well I was considering .357 sig for my cc but now I'm starting to rethink. Any second Opinions? I primarily wanted it because 9mm just seems meh to me and I'm a partial fudd so "muh stopping power" has some affect, but I'm also not a faggot and do actually want more than 10 rounds in a magazine without the grip being thicker than a law textbook because of my manlet hands.
Okay, I know this bread is stale, but I wanna get this straight. What "around the house" products can I use to 1.) clean guns 2.) lube guns? Gun made cleaning products are a little expensive for their purpose. I don't wanna keep feeding these companies money when I can use other stuff to clean my funz, cheaply without compromise. Trolls need not apply.
>>32329997
Self bump, I know you fags have something to say about this
I've been watching some videos on youtube. Why does it seem people unanimously choose mobile 1 full synthetic to lube guns? Why not any other brand and why not conventional oil rather than full synthetic?

Hey /k/, i know this mask has asbestos in it but idc cause I want to die, anyways, does anyone know what kind of gas mask this is? All i know is its ww2 and probably germab
A quick google search reveals that this is the German GM30
Most WW2 gasmasks should not be worn, as they contain asbestos
Btw, why did you put the mask on AND THEN ask us if it contained asbestos???
>>32330570
I knew there was asbestos i just want to die
>>32330600
Seems like a tedious death...
What ever floats your boat, wehraboo
i need help /k/. Are there any places in the US similar to Chicago where there are insane gun laws but still a large amount of crime. Is Detroit another example or is it just shitty because of chrime in general.
Washington DC and the rougher Maryland suburbs.
California and Jew York Shitty come to mind
>>32329941
Compton and Watts in the LA area.
a small town in Indiana had its entire police force of 4 people resign. come on K this is your time to occupy land and start your own separatist state.

raiding parties when?
need some help here
For my first gun, I'm looking at an SKS. Before anyone goes
>they aren't worth the price anymore
I'm looking at how easy 7.62x39 is to shoot, availability of it, and how easy the SKS is to take care of. Maintenance, stuff like that.
Basically, aside from the price, is the SKS a good starter rifle for a noguns fag who has never fired a gun?
Btw what is the proper stance when shooting a rifle? I know not to do the chick lean, but nothing beyond that.
>>32329805
It's hard to go wrong with an SKS. Hard to break, easy to maintain, cheap to shoot.
>>32329812
This is an utterly floored strategy that prevents any good ol' fashion wars of conquest.
How do we FIX IT?
Anti missile defenses so overpowered a large nuclear payload stands no chance of hitting its target.
Much like what made anti-tank rifles and flak cannons obsolete
>ON NO ACCOUNT TO BE USED - BECAUSE THE ENEMY MIGHT RETALIATE
This is a misunderstanding. MAD doctrine works because nukes are always on the table.
Also, its "flawed"
>>32334282
Wew, i'm a moron.
MAD doesn't work. It makes life boring.
can we get a skeet and trap shooting thread?
who does it, what do you use?
pic related my i'm too poor for a bennelli substitute
>>32329726
A VEPR 12
>>32329758
hows that work for you?
A perfect condition Ithaca NID Field Grade with all the addons, and Bisley Tube inserts, and an extra barrel for skeet.
Or, a Franchi Instinct L
Pic not related. But, I wounder the looks I'd get if I were to bring something like this in.
I'm suprised I havent seen something like this here before. What do /k/ommandos think of reenacting? Does anyone here reenact themselves?
General reenactment thread. Any time period welcome. I reenact WW2 and will try to answer any questions
What do those reenecters actually do? Shot at each others with Blanks and pretend to die?
>>32333804
It's a way for people like me to justify owning a 12 pound Napoleon cannon while maintaining the illusion that I'm a normal member of society.
"Gee Anon why do you have an entire Civil War cannon with trail and cassion in your garage" is much better answered with "I'm a reenactor" than SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED GOVERNMENT GET OUT REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>32333804
Yep. I know it sounds weird on the surface but believe me it's pretty fun
What am I missing? What can I do without?
0/10
shitty aliengear doesn't even cover the trigger.

Shitty holster.
Carry more magazines.
I won't fault you for wearing a watch though.

>In a press conference in Okinawa following the incident, Lt. Gen. Lawrence Nicholson said the aircraft had been conducting aerial refueling operations over water when the rotor blades hit the refueling line, causing damage to the aircraft.
Looks like it was pilot error. Thoughts?
>>32329333
Silly Osprey, you're not actually an Osprey.
>>32329333
>Thoughts?
probably a diversion from another marine raping a local
>>32329333
Well, hitting the refueling line is pretty much pilot error or just pure bad luck.
Not that it will prevent 100+ answers with
>death trap
>pointless shit
>Marine-eater
>Give us AeroGavins
>military cover-up, not really pilots fault
>200 have crashed, but the MIC is covering it up, i know the truuuth
You know, normal /k/
Hello /k/ I am a idiot who knows nothing about guns but I want to get one for self defense as I am moving to a bad part of town and will have to walk in the dark a lot. I want a handgun that is light, concealable, small, accurate, and can stop a big guy coming at me. I want something that won't shoot open my femoral artery while I carry it and won't jam on me too often. What do I get?
>>32328877
I made this flowchart today, maybe it will help you out
baby glock
it will only shoot your leg off if you're a retard and pull the trigger while drawing it (if you carry with a round chambered, obviously)
>>32328906
glock 19 is the closest thing on that chart to something he'd want to carry and it's honestly too big to edc for 99% of people
A small .380 that has a long trigger pull would be perfect for concealed carry.
If you want home defense I recommend a cheap mossberg 12g or my personal favorite, a Remington 870
Nice,Charms.
>when he opened that can of C-Rat spaghetti
wtf is this shit
>>32328584
lets get this onto a tray
Which fit in pocket better?
>>32328200
Derringer. Or maybe finger guns
>>32328200
I imagine the Lc9 would fit better in your pocket...the cylinder on the revolver looks like it would bulge a little more.
>>32328213
I'm thinking of getting an LCP ver.2 unless an LCR would fit better in a pocket. Then I don't know.
