So i got the shoulder harness that attaches to the rivet points on a pistol belt. I also have a firm nylon belt that would go well with it, if i were to put the rivets in. My question is, what kind of rivets do i need?
I'm mostly looking to use it with a butt pack and maybe a few molle pouches at the front. No-guns here, just want it for hiking, and am too cheap/poor to buy a hiking one, when i already have all the parts except the rivets.
Just buy an LC-1 belt, or if its for hiking just get a hiking daypack to try to hide the fact you're a dick.
You dont have $100 for a belt that'll last you half a lifetime?

>what kind of rivets do i need
>what kind of rivets
>rivets
you must be retarded.
What are these pods /k/? I thought they were Depth Charges, but I can't find anything that says the Arleigh Burke carries these, and I can't seem to identify these pods. The only other thing I can guess is that they're some sort of countermeasure or maybe life rafts. Does anyone know what these pods are?
>>32445379
Inflatable liferafts in hard-shelled canisters.

>>32445419
Yep, that's it, thanks!
>>32445425
Yeah, looks similar, but after a little more digging those are for sure life raft canisters.
Bout to go look at a Glock 36
Anyone have one or have any experiences with them?
Is there a better choice?
>27oz loaded for a 6+1 gun
???
>>32445343
Not with the 36 specifically but with a 19. It was a piece of shit. Take a look at HKp2000sk and smith and Wesson shield as alternatives.
>it's a "this gun is fucking garbage I ain't saying why you just gonna trust me" episode
Hi,
I've been cleaning my grandfather's attic and I found a gun.
I have absolutely zero knowledge in firearms. Could anyone identify pic related please?
On the right side of the gun is written "Koma G.m.b.H Furtwangen Germany" and on the left "Cal 5,6 l.f.B. 9133".
What I found so far is that the company (Koma) who made this gun was built in 1948 in Austria, then bought and renamed Voere, which still exists to this day. Apart from this, I can't find the model, it seems they only sell long rifle and air gun nowadays.
>>32445119
its a bolt action single shot 22lr rifle that at some point your grandpa or previous owner chopped the barrel and fabricated a pistol stock for it
just enjoy it as a neat little curio, it probably has very low money value
>>32445119
5.6mm LfB is the German name of .22 Lr
Sweet, thank you very much guys.
What does /k/ wear for combat boots?
I'm looking to buy a new pair but I have to buy online - so I need to be cautious.
Pic related, I've been wearing these for years.
Bates
>>32444965
I've been looking at those - specifically the Defenders and Paratroopers. Can you vouch for either of those models?
Nike SFBs and Belleville Hybrid Assault Boots (meme name, but decent light boots) for work.
Merrel MOABs waterproof for hiking.
What boots do you wear? Corcorans today.

>Special Forces wear beards so they can blend in with Muslims
People dress up like you to blend in with faggots. What does this have to do with weapons?
>it is a crime to use a .50 on people because it is an anti-armor weapon
>women have no place in today's armed forces
Ok, so I know this has probably been discussed several times over the years here but I'm not having much luck with Armslist or any of the other private sale sites in my area. I want to know SA pistols that typically run used around the $100-$150 range that I can get 2000+ rounds through and conceal easily. I've been looking at new and used Hi Points (I know, I know) and they're just too damn bulky because of the slides. What guns do you consistently see at your local shops that run in this price range. I've only been a gun owner myself for a little over 2 years and I'm looking for something to gift to my brother. Basically, $100-150, long lasting, CCable, used. Thank ya. I'm also in the Charleston, SC area if any of you are in this area, you'll know the kind of shops and private sellers in this area.
>>32444120
Dont buy anything in that photo
>>32444138
that much I know, I'm not looking at Hi Points or maks
>>32444120
Get more money you choosy faggot. Or just buy a Hi Point and deal with it.

>snowflake ammo
I hope you're swiss
>>32444087
Not op, and this is probably a stupid question, but what's the problem with ammo supply? Up here in Canada we just got a whole new batch from Switzerland- you can buy it in FMJ by the 480 round case (it comes in regularly), and PRVI and Sellier and Bellot make SP rounds for hunting. Is there a shortage in the US?
>>32444081
7.5 swiss is by far the best high powered rifle cartridge for hunting, ever made
Maybe kind of stupid question:
Why arnt semi auto crossbows a thing in 3rd world wars or atleast with criminals and terrorists.
I get that crossbows are a pain in the ass to reload but with pic related you could fire atleast as fast as a shotgun.
other pros would be:
>(relatively) silent
>good armor/cover piercing
>can be used with explosives for a poor mans rpg
>legal even in europoor states
>easy to make/maintain/use
There must be some huge drawback i'm not aware of because i've literally never seen them used in this or the last century.
>>32444043
>crossbows
>semi-auto

Because AKs are available

Think about it. What would cycle the action to draw your string back again?
Hello /k/, I've been told this could be the right place to open this thread.
I've gotten interested in martial arts since eons ago, and was always fascinated by how many are there. I think a choice for a martial art is one that also defines a bit of the person and characterizes it. I'd personally have been interested since always in Muay Thai, Karate (abandoned then again after reading Teppu, along MMA training), Krav Maga to be deadly, Aikido because it's fascinating, and now Filipino hand-to-hand combat and knife-wielding techniques, because of The Man from Nowhere. I would like to find more resources on these martial arts, and really want to find more info/graphs also on which martial arts one could do in which occasion, or something like the image I'm posting in the OP. Also just want to discover what others think overall and do with them.
Do you practice Martial Arts? Which? Since how long? Did you do alone training for a while before going to a trainer? Are you satisfied? Ever gotten to use it? Could you share advices, resources, information, training etc., so I can create folder for personal knowledge? Thanks to everyone.
>>32444022
I do BJJ
>>32444022
1. Either this is a troll thread or you are an idiot.
2. (Combat Sambo), Boxing, judo, muay thai, taekwondo exclusively for kicks when you have something else. Kyokushin karate is also good if available.

>>32444022
>Do you practice Martial Arts? Which? Since how long?
Wrestled in high school. Boxed in college. Do krav maga now.
> Did you do alone training for a while before going to a trainer?
Training alone makes a habit of your errors. It looks cool as fuck and cinematic in your head, but shadowboxing is a cardio thing, not a technique thing, until you've really got that shit down.
> Are you satisfied?
Very. Great cardio (I hate running) and lots of fun. Helps with your confidence but honestly, I carry a piece so I don't have to get into fistfights when SHTF.
>Ever gotten to use it?
I know you're just typing off the cuff and not picking your choice of words deliberately, but that attitude should be beaten out of you by effective training. Sparring and competition are fun, but in a real fight the guy will either pull a knife and shank you, or his six buddies will rush in and hit your skull with a brick. It's like carrying a gun; you know that by the time using it is the best option, the whole situation is fucked and you'll be lucky to get out uninjured and without jail time.
> Advices etc.
If all you want is cardio, go to the cheapest place. If you want to get good, go somewhere with live sparring and/or grappling. Krav maga and karate are especially bad about shit schools which charge a fortune and teach nothing; you really have to search to find a good one. I picked my krav place because they have weekly sparring sessions and because the head guy is a grizzled old Israeli with a near-incomprehensible accent and fucked up fingers.
High school wrestling helps develop stamina and proper attitude, but is low-tier for street fighting because of how the rules work. BJJ is better.
Boxing is excellent. But if you take up a second style, you'll have to relearn stance and punching and it'll be very difficult. A boxer will out-punch an equally skilled kravist any day, but that's because of the differing combat philosophies of the two styles. Not a weakness. 1/2
Howdy /k/, wasn't altogether sure if I should post this here or on /x/, but whatever.
Anyone got any stories, tips, what have you on hunting the paranormal? We used to have skinwalker threads and all that at least once a week, but it's died off.
Extraordinary hunting general, I suppose. Elsewise let it slide off to page 10 and I'll fuck off to ask /x/ about it. Inb4 'r u a sukkubuss'

China cannot hesitate on nuclear buildup
>US President-elect Donald Trump tweeted on Thursday that "the US must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability," hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin vowed to strengthen Russia's nuclear power.
>According to statistics, the US has 7,100 nuclear warheads and Russia has 7,300. Although Russia's conventional military capabilities have fallen behind that of NATO, its nuclear arsenal has ensured its military superpower status and enabled Moscow to confront Washington in Ukraine and Syria.
>Putin said Russia needs to bolster nuclear forces that could "reliably penetrate any existing and prospective missile defense system." The US is unlikely to ignore this message.
>Some Chinese feel that China should not be part of the "nuclear arms race" between the US and Russia. However, as the focus of the global strategic competition gradually shifts toward the US and China, it would be difficult for Beijing to stay away.
>A common misinterpretation is that nuclear weapons will not be used and therefore are a waste of resources. Yet, we believe that Russia is using its nuclear weapons everyday as a strategic deterrence to the US.
>China doesn't have to join in the "nuclear arms race" but we do need to redefine our nuclear arsenal "sufficiency." The US already views China as its top competitor and it would be na?ve to believe it could survive in the intermediate zone of global power competition.
>>32443804
>China's nuclear weapons must be "sufficient" to deter the US when it flexes its military muscle, as well as to convince the US that the PLA will strike back without hesitation in face of military provocation. The US and its allies need to believe that whichever of their Asian-Pacific military bases are used for launching attacks on China, it will meet destructive retaliation.
>For Chinese, the biggest US threat comes from its military. Such a threat can gradually corrode China's social confidence.
>We hope for a sound development of future Sino-US relations, and that both countries can resolve their disputes with a cooperative attitude. However, some signals coming from the Trump team have warned us that the possibility of a crisis cannot be ruled out. The better we prepare for that day, the more likely it is for us to avoid such a confrontation.
>With both the US and Russia believing that their nuclear arsenals are "not enough," it's imperative for China to speed up the development of its nuclear weapons including Dongfeng-41 missiles. We must not hesitate or be concerned about the reactions from the West. China is at the center of global geopolitics, and there is no room for hesitation on nuclear deterrence.
Short term; Restarting of Chinese fissile material production, while mass-producing DF-41s to enable all Chinese 280 warheads to strike the US mainland.
Medium term; Increase the Stockpile to at least 1200 warheads, which is possible by reprocessing existing civilian plutionium.
Long term: Increase the Stockpile and Missile arsenal to match the capability to deliver at least 3000 nukes to the US mainland.
>>32443821
DF-41s have been spotted more and more recently.
I think its safe to say that china is more of a threat to russia then the US is to either and vice versa
What's the point of having a nuclear carrier if the carrier never sails alone and all the other ships in the battlegroup are conventionally powered?
>>32443777
Not having to pull it into port for gas. Parking that thing must be a bitch and a half.
>>32443777
Nothing. It's a meme.
Extra power generation.
It's good for systems and endurance (going at maximum speed burns up range on a conventional ship but a nuclear one can sustain it for much longer)
