Nice Anon. That's really cool!
Why is the indochina war overlooked on here and every where else.
>>32442103
Why do they fight wars indoors in China?
>>32442103
>Vietnam the prequel
Theres very little quality English language material on it, at least compared to the American sequel. I tried looking into it a few years back and the only decent book I could find was Street without joy and a few poorly translated french documentaries. If you spoken french, you might do better than I did though.

I still want a damn nuclear winter or at least an easy assignment like Janet, Fucking Janet. Everyone knows she blew the ambassador for it.

MUST HAVE IT
>can't have a shotgun that is less than 18" barrel length or 26" overall length without a tax stamp
>Taurus Judge is shorter than that and is not an NFA item even though it shoots shotgun shells

>>32441898
So can you have a sawed off with a rifled barrel then without tax stamp?
>>32441899
What's that mean? If you had a 12 gauge judge would that be ok? Or did they say it's ok because it's small?
Hey /k/, talk to me about the Remington 700 and the .260 cartridge.
Just got one today and it's my very first rifle. Not my first gun at all, I've got over a dozen hand guns, but now I'm thinking I'm gonna be getting into some longer range stuff.
Just to start out with, some information on hand loads would be great. There's a lot of information out there and I'd love your guys' opinions.
Also, recommendations for glass? Brands to avoid or stick with?
This next question I could find with a google search but since I'm making a thread anyway, what kind of range can I expect out of this? I hear 500 yards is pushing it a little bit unless you're pretty good with the hand loads.
tl;dr handgun enthusiast just got a Remington 700, help babby be a good long range shooter.
>>32441824
Is that one of the bastards with the triangular barrel?
>>32441824
swfa makes good ones, primary arms are good, nikon are good, for the sub 500 market. If you want to spend a bit more, vortex is good. Spend anything more than 500, and you are in super upper tier shit. Think going from a rock river arms 2 stage trigger and switiching to a 3 gun geissele super 2 stage trigger.
Avoid getting anything with a BDC reticle. To start you off try and find a nice mildot reticle. Thats the easier option to figure out long range.
>>32441847
Indeed.
>>32441892
Good stuff, thanks a lot anon I really appreciate it. Right around $500 is what I was looking to spend (I may be new to rifles but I know glass isn't cheap), maybe a couple hundred more if the extra money is worth it.
Another question: I'm taking it to the range tomorrow to break in the barrel, and the Remington website recommends cleaning after every shot for the first 10 shots, then every 2 shots for the next 10, etc. I get it, and I get why, but my question is about the order they recommend you clean in:
>oil > solvent > clean patch
Why oil first? My cleaning process for my hadnguns has always been:
>solvent > scrub > clean patch > oil > clean patch

Can Someone change everything that is FDE which is the tan color to black and on another just change the handguard to black. Thank you and Merry Christmas.

>want to own a gun for target shooting
>keep hearing horror stories about all the loops you have to jump through to get a licence
Is it even worth it? All I want to do is shoot some paper targets and some cans and bottles, but thanks to Martin Bryant it looks like I can't do that.
Also talk about owning guns from an Aussie perspective I guess so this thread isn't a total waste of space.
>>32440797
Do it. It's not so much difficult as a somewhat drawn-out process. It's worth it, even just as an 'up yours' to the powers that be.
>>32440897
What should my first weapon be? Budget would be about $300 or so. Doubt I could get anything good for that, but I did see a bunch of rifles under $300 (some going for as low as $110) when I went to a gun shop a while ago to do some window shopping.
Been waiting 20 weeks for license... got my eyes set on a marlin 336c .30-30

Evening /k/ I'm currently issued a MICH 2002 but we've been given the all clear for awhile to switch helmets. I've resisted up to this point however I recently tried on a buddies Ops-Core high cut and a Crye Airframe. Both felt 1000x better than the Mich 2002 (mine is upgraded with a team wendy suspension system and pads).
So between the Ops-Core and the Crye Airframe which wins? The Airframe looks like it has excellent air flow.
>>32440785
An Ops-Core dial strap system will make wearing your MICH a completely different and better experience, and it's much, much cheaper than shelling out nearly a grand for a new helmet.
>>32440832
I have the Team Wendy Boa system as mentioned above and it's a huge upgrade from the standard ACH shit. Would upgrading to the Ops-Core dial strap be a huge improvement over the team wendy setup?
>>32440849
no, the team wendy is usually considered to be as good or better than the ops core worm dial
>The founding fathers had no idea that we'd have ghost guns that murder babies in the womb!
Well, considering that this existed and was in fairly common use by the time that the Constitution was written, I'd say they knew full well where firearms were headed. And they liked it.
>>32440667
>was in fairly common use
I just watched that video an hour ago, the guy sold barely a handful.

How about no. Only one buyer.

shit thread, sawgay
how young is too young for a first gun?
>>32440128
Base it off how mature the kid is, not his age, I know plenty of adults I wouldn't hand a firearm off to. That said bb gun at six, .22lr bolt action at 12, 12 gauge pump action at 18 seems to be my families tradition for gifting guns to sons.
When they can follow basic gun safety rules, some will be 4 and some will be 14
Alright /k/ lets go down this road. Opinions on lanyards. I'll get the discussion rolling with this, imagine doing something like riding a snowmobile or four wheeler or something similar, I would consider a lanyard very useful for that because I personally do not use holsters with buttons or hoods or anything, just passive retention given by kydex.
For cops it makes a lot of sense too for close quarters brawls, usually cops have multiple types of retention so getting your gun nabbed isn't an issue unless its drawn which the lanyard still proves useful.
>>32440114
I have nothing against lanyards for pistols but you're a dumbass if you lose a pistol because it fell out of your level 1 holster
>>32440141
kek, I know it seams dumb but imagine if you get in a wreck or whatever, it is "possible". And pistol lanyards seam more common for jap cops or someone whose primary weapon is not the pistol doesnt it? Seams like US cops don't want the extra crap to get in the way or get snagged.
what are the best poorfag handguns?
