thanks!
Right /ic/ something a little different.
You all hate on art school and I know why, but it's my dream to do 3d modeling as a carer. I need to go to Uni to do this. I have no fucking free time to even get anywhere near industry level. So is it worth it, do any of you have any experience working in that carer professional or know of anybody who does.
Will i be wasting my time and money or should i just neet it for the next 5 years.
>>2740222
ask >>>/3/ however they probably tell you that 3d industry is over saturated and the only way in is if your parents or relatives work on a studio already (not to mention that canada seems to be entry point for most people)
also watch this playlist (popular 3d artist that are in the industry discuss how they get in what skills are necessary or other stuff needed to get in)

I don't get it. Key to Drawing by Bert Dodson says that you have to rely on eyes, not on your knowledge but what if I want to rely on my knowledge in order to do good drawings from imagination? I just dont get this stupid ass book that you shill so much here. I want to imagine and do shit without looking at it, what a fucking garbage book
>>2739916
If you are total beginner tier you need to rely on your eyes because your "knowledge" is incomplete and probably the bits in your head are actually wrong. You build up a proper foundation of knowledge by copying what you see, and after you are able to do that you can start to train yourself in other ways to be able to construct forms and draw from your imagination, but that stage is built upon the foundation of copying reference accurately.
>>2739916
Are you reading it in pdf?
I can't find it.
>>2739988
>I can't find it.
breh. Literally google "Keys to Drawing by Bert Dodson" and the fifth result is a pdf.

Blind contours aren't supposed to look good, you drama queen. Post actual work if you want people to tell you you're not gonna make it
>>2739819
That is not the best you can do, try harder and quit complaining.

Post your current drawing here and be an asshole to others!
Please make sure your posted image is clear, DOWNSIZED TO AROUND 1000 PIXELS WIDE, ROTATED TO THE CORRECT ORIENTATION, and that any unused space is cropped.
If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one and then kill yourself.

What's the point of practicing gesture? Why not just copy from reference?
>>2737596
What's the point of even drawing? Why not just take a picture with your cheap Obama phone?
>>2737596
Understanding gesture is useful whether you are creating things out of your head or if you already have reference material. Subtly tweaking poses to emphasize certain things and downplay others is a very important skill if you ever want to create good art.
Practice makes perfect.
I see plenty of "referenced" work that sucks balls.
High school senior trying to go to art college. I have a few pieces so far but im still deciding what to include. I would really appreciate critiques and opinions or ways to improve the portfolio.
Am I going in the right direction? I've really only put deeper touches on abdominal area, but wanna make sure I am on right track. Once I finish the basics on his skin I am going to add his tattoos but probably in bright colors/psychedelic
It's my first time using pastels on semi-serious project
