What should you do if some big name youtuber is making (a lot of) money off your work by using it in their thumbnail and they do not credit you?
Say, some generic cod gamer with 500K+ subscribers makes a video called DRAGONS IN BLACK OPS 3 ZOMBIE MODE and uses a dragon that you painted in his thumbnail?
>>2734471
Report his shit and hope he gets enough copyright strikes to knock his channel down.
>>2734471
If they don't leave a full attribution with proper not-ad-click-link-shorteners in the description then report their cancerous ass.
Report them anyway if you feel like it.
I'm not gay and a client asked me to draw a gay commission with two guys having intercourse.
How do I approach this?

Do you need to be a dog to draw a dog?

Hi Kayla.
Aren't so called "art prints" just essentially posters printed on nicer paper?
It seems like a bit of a scam and no one is talking about it. Don't get me wrong, I am not against artist making a buck if people are willing to pay for it. Still, paying hundreds of dollars for something that an artist has printed out at home seems baffling to me.
when has an artist ever charged "hundreds of dollars" for an art print?
>>2736045
I have a acquaintance who does just that and he is a rather succesful water colorist. He literally scans his water colors and sells the prints for hundreds of dollars each.
>>2736035
Let the buyer beware...
A high quality print can be the next best thing to having the handmade original piece.
In the past, posters were a disposable, ephemeral item for short term promotion (for a band, movie, etc).
None of these categories are set in stone, so its up to the buyer to decide the value. If an artist sells cheap prints, or over charges for excellent prints... well, that's far from the worst scam in history.
>>2736051
I hope he either uses a professional printing service or has the knowledge to produce archival prints. People like his work, it'd be a shame to let the prints yellow and crumble over time.
>my friends don't understand the drawings I draw when I'm high

Hey /ic/, i have been drawing digitally for a few months now and i just wanted to ask how does my art look? i think it looks decent at best.

Legs could use some more curves, but I like them.
Ignoring the anatomy issues you should really study shadows and value.
So I'm in Bangkok and I come across this piece on a wall.
The style reminds me of Banksy, but it could just be a fan expressing himself.
What does /ic/ think? How can one figure out if this is from Banksy or not?
Its shit, please dont share your shitty attempts.
Bankys work has messages and doesnt lack fundies because he stencils them from real people you faggot kys
>>2735856
what? it's not even mine.
be less edgy next time pls.
Listen all of you. Enough with the bullshit. Its the journey not the destination that matters. You made it the second you decided to go in the direction of ur dreams! Just relax and go for what you want, and be happy that you made the effort towards ur goals. You'll die a happy man

Yesterday I practiced for 12 hours, only taking 10-20 minute breaks every hour or so. towards the end of the day I started feeling some discomfort near my elbow, but today I woke up with small sharp pains there every time I move my arm or wrist a certain way. pretty sure this is what the beginning of tennis elbow feels like. I’ve barely done anything at all today because I’m afraid of worsening it, I’m sort of planning on not doing anything until Monday when I’m sure it’ll be completely gone. i didn’t expect something like this to happen so fucking quick, i thought it would take at least a few days of doing this non-stop before I started feeling anything like carpal tunnel or tennis elbow coming.
I don’t plan on doing 12 hours everyday, but the list of things I want to do on a daily basis will take at least 8-9 hours. I was wondering if my issue yesterday was just not taking any real breaks
>>2733886
Avoid drawing with mainly your wrist by any means. Gripping your pen too tight can also be a big reason why you have pains. Just fucking relax and chill out when you draw, dude.
look up massages andstretch exercises
12 hours is too much
you need at least 15 consecutive minutes of stretching
use this time to read anatomy books or theory
>>2733886
>taking breaks
Never gonna make it.
I am reading 'Perspective Made Easy' and I don't understand where to place vanishing points. That was the only reason I even got this book. Is there a better explanation?
Pic related is from the book and it makes zero sense.
>>2735676
Norling and Robertson are draftsmen first, illustrators second. They're explaining in draftsmen's terms.
That little illustration tends to go above your regular illustration and you use a t-square or something to drop it down, or up, whatever fuck knows I haven't done it in a while. You basically need someone to go through it with you to understand it, it's like long division that way - logical, sure, but time-consuming and overall dumb.
Throw your vanishing points literally anywhere you want, but traditionally you just have two on the horizon line a fair ways apart. The closer they get, the more fisheye things look but more dynamic, and the farther they get the more naturalistic things look.
Same goes with your vertical vanishing points.
>>2735685
Thanks for the reply. I am a total noob. I doubt I will ever be good, just trying to be passable.
With that in mind, are vertical VPs generally used? Also, you are saying most artists don't find the horizontal VPs in some "calculated" way?
>>2735692
>With that in mind, are vertical VPs generally used?
With more fisheye-y, dynamic perspectives or irregular landscapes like birds-eye cityscapes and >180 degree shots, absolutely.
Not so much for regular stuff.
> Also, you are saying most artists don't find the horizontal VPs in some "calculated" way?
Pft, no.
"Oh that looks stupid"
Increase VP depth.
"Oh that looks boring"
Decrease VP depth.
ADVANCED DRAFTSMANSHIP.
How hard would it be to become a lazy artist that puts minimal effort in their work, but can still make something cool/attractive enough that people will love?
I don't mind putting in 7 hrs on a drawing that people will look at for 3 seconds and not care about, but if I could do that for a fraction of the time and still get lots of notes on tumblr that would be great.
Pic kind of related I guess. Its really simple, and probably took no longer than 45 mins to draw, but its got hundreds of notes on tumblr.
>>2732259
>and probably took no longer than 45 mins to draw
But how would you know.
>>2732259
u gotta appeal to the public with flashy shit that's related in some way or another to pop culture. like spiderman drawings or something. If you put cliche phrases on them like "be you're self" it's gonna sell even better.
All that being said it's a risky strategy and youre better off practicing ur ass off in case it doesn't work
>>2732265
Its drawn in really simple art style
I can imagine the initial draft probably took the most time, but this drawing in particular couldn't have took longer than an hour, tops.
That's my ideal work flow. Anything longer than that just seems like you are putting in a whole lot of effort with no worthwhile gain in today's world.
My friend its a good artist? hello from mexico Bv

how do i draw these.

He shows you. It's right there. Put pen to paper and fucking draw them.
Don't be afraid or ashamed to fail.
I know its never too late to start drawing, but what about writing? Actually, the writing part is not what i am most concerned, reading is the problem. All writers i read about started reading at a really young age. Am i doomed?
