High school senior trying to go to art college. I have a few pieces so far but im still deciding what to include. I would really appreciate critiques and opinions or ways to improve the portfolio.
upload some paintings.
What program are you trying to get into and at what school? When is the deadline?
To be honest >>2739906 won't help get into many schools if it is actually yours. I've seen that idea before done better, and photography is not usually included in illustration type portfolios, which is what I am guessing you are trying to do based on your other images.

Perspective looks kind of off and the text is sloppy. Pencil crayons too are pretty amateurish as a medium and this piece doesn't really display any skills or ideas that I as a reviewer would be interested in.
This >>2739909 is better and getting more illustration-y, but it feels unfinished/rushed and not really a full on piece to include in a portfolio. if you were to redo it from scratch and spend the time to do things properly it could be a nice piece to include.
I recommend going to a life drawing class if you can, either instructed or uninstructed, and do as much of it as you can. Ideally use something like conte on newsprint, but you can use a sketchbook if that's all you have.

You uploaded these while I was typing that other response. They don't realyl look like finished work, and don't show much understanding of form. The red pen and the censor box ruin them as well.

This one has a poorly done skill and I don't really like the idea or composition, but it's probably okay to include to show you have studied the skeleton a bit, and even though the photo isn't great it seems you pushed yourself further on finishing this than the other things you have posted.

what is conte?

It's basically charcoal with more wax binder in it so it's less smudgy and powdery, but retains a lot of the rich blackness that you can't get with things like graphite. It can be bought in different softness grades and is used as either small sticks with no covering/casing, or as a type of pencil. It's quite commonly used in life drawing classes.
