/g/ I have a saltwater aquarium next to my setup. I was thinking of water cooling my pc using the saltwater. Is it possible? How could I do it? (Pls no Bulli)
>>57839786
The salt would corrode the entire water cooling system. And if there was a failure, salt water conducts electricity a lot better than distilled water, so you'd most likely destroy your whole rig.
Generally just a bad idea.
>>57839786
>"Pls no Bulli"
>that desktop, setup, fully meme fish tank
end yourself.
Your computer already looks like a fish tank so just plug all holes to prevent leaks, fill it with salt water and it should be all good.
You know what to do...

Hello /g
let's talks about OpenBSD
it's the extreme distrib for strong secure server?
>>57839566
I use OpenBSD non-ironically for both fun and production.
I think it's a great OS, not so at everything, but at a lot of things.
The thing I like the most is the balance between control, simplicity and security.
yheah i think too
i am looking for a full tuto to install encrypted system with /boot too
possible to use crypteseup ont it ?
>>57840752
OpenBSD supports full disk encryption, but not with LUKS.
It required softraid and bioctl.
https://www.vultr.com/docs/setup-openbsd-5-6-with-full-disk-encryption
Just installed Solus. Looks like great distro, simple and clean.
But why can't I install a lamp server? really???
>>57839484
since you have installed solus, the thinking man's os, it is assumed that you are competent enough to compile and install a lamp server from source.
>>57839553
Well I wanted to try it because ppl are saying "omagad so fast so pretty so easy to use".
But thanks for the tip i'll google it

Can android malware be contained in .pdf file?
Some kinds of bugs in programs, in this case pdf readers, can be exploited by specially crafted files, so theoretically it's possible.
>>57839386
Is it likely?
>>57839410
Think about it and use Google. Look at the released vulns for the software you will be using to view the pdf. Start by turning off js in pdf viewer. Seriously though. Just think about the question. Is it possible?absolutely. Is it probable? Depends on source of pdf, circumstances around receiving said pdf, and the viewer/version of Android.
http://academia.stackexchange.com/questions/80790/
Stackexchange overwhelmingly says yes, because... proprietary software is industry standard and therefore it's okay.
You can see most of the answerers are professors, who probably make a lot of money selling expensive textbooks and support the prosecution of Aaron Swartz, Kim Dotcom and Edward Snowden.
>>57839267
Fuck off commie
>>57839267
Hmm I'm not sure. I mean how can you trust your results when its closed source? That's a tough one. I'm not sure if it's ethical or not, but open source would be better.
Also snowden is a fucking traitor and should be breaking bricks in levanworth with bradley manning. Kim dotcom is kinda cool though. i miss megaupload. couldn't give a shit about that reddit faggot that an hero'd (i mean what did you expect)

Help, My python code is giving the out put multiple times. not too sure what is wrong with it.
import sys
itemsInBackpack = ["book", "computer", "keys", "travel mug"]
while True:
print("Would you like to:")
print("1. Add an item to the backpack?")
print("2. Check if an item is in the backpack?")
print("3. Quit")
userChoice = input()
if(userChoice == "1"):
print("What item do you want to add to the backpack?")
itemToAdd = input()
itemsInBackpack.append(itemsInBackpack)
print('you have just added ' + itemToAdd + ' to your backpack')
if(userChoice == "2"):
print("What item do you want to check to see if it is in the backpack?")
itemToCheck = input()
for i in range(len(itemsInBackpack)):
if itemToCheck in itemsInBackpack:
print("Already in backpack")
else:
print('nope')
print('Items in backpack:{0}'.format(', '.join(itemsInBackpack)))

Your while loop isn't ending?
>>57839234
1) install gentoo
2) use the stupid question thread / daily programming thread
3) use code blocks ([ c o d e ] + [ / c o d e ], without spaces)
is this the no code tags meme?
In the end of 2016, are there any non-negligible benefits of overclocking a Desktop CPU or GPU?
Best backed up by evidence.
>>57839224
Yeah when you're dynamically allocating namespace to hashmapped arrays with a GPU vectorised CUDA core, you have to realize that your IPC will remain constant no matter what you do short of reengineering the architecture with a longer pipeline and tree stabilizers, the best way to increase your throughput is to overclock until your mAh asynchronously provides an undercurrent to you're TDP wattage Delta in such a manner that a bigly non-negligible benefit is attained. source: I'm chief overclocker at Pepe headquarters Inc.
>>57839224

Hey /g/, I was wondering which distro would you use on a 1GHz and 512mb ram pc.
I thought of Debian because it doesn't need a lot to work fine but I want to know your opinions on what distro should one use.
>>57839152
The heaviest part of any distro is the desktop environment. Ditch that and every distro fits into 512MB.
>>57839152
i would use some old slackware like version 8.x but that sounds like some ancient PC, i would not even bother using it,
and like >>57839200 said the desktop environment GUI sucks up most the ram & CPU cycles, run it in CLI mode, learn to enjoy surfing the internet with a CLI web browser like Links or Lynx, there are even IRC clients for CLI, and even Midnight Commander file manager, mp3blaster for music, once you get in to CLI you will find Linux has a lot of apps that run in the CLI
CLI = commandline interface (text mode) no Xorg
>>57839152
Anything running MATE.
Or if you want to go balls deep, ditch DEs all together and just run a window manager :^)
I'm kind of poor so I cannot afford a top tier phone. I was looking at these chinese phones and people say they're pretty good for the price. Is this GSM unlocked phone able to be used on MetroPCS with 4g LTE?
Its the DOOGEE X5 Pro.
Or the X5 Max pro. It's got android 6.0 instead of 5.1
All the poor people I know have iphones.
>>57839092
I can't afford an iPhone, nor do I want one.
Also, I'm in the US if that makes a difference with compatibility.
Alright /g/, here's my issue. I currently have an msi z77a-g41, running an i5 3550, an hd6950, and a single DIM of 4gb ram, because only one slot works (I have another stick of 4gb, leaving me with 8gb total.) Fixing all the problems with this PC would cost me a hefty amount that I really don't know I want to pay atm.
So, do I:
- Upgrade graphics card, and get a 16gb stick for my single working port;
- Get new mobo in order to use the 2x4gb sticks, and upgrade graphics card;
OR - Get new mobo, get another set of 2x4gb sticks, AND upgrade graphics card.
