Looking for recommendations on graphic software to design floorplans, room addtions, and general contractor duties.
> The pic is from RapidSketch - and in fairness - they offer a 15 day trial - after which you have to buy their $149.00 product.
I know that some floorplan programs are on line - but I really want a program that I can download and not have to log into everytime I use it.
Any Suggestions?

AutoCAD is free for students and great for this
In fact autoCAD revit is the industry standard for architectural design p much
It's super simple to learn, just download it and play around with it for a few hours, for doing simple shit like drawing straight perpendicular lines in a floorplan it will take no skills whatsoever
>>57836617
Microsoft Visio if you are willing to use nonfree software.
Inkscape or QCad if you are a follower of Stallman

It really depends on what work you do.
I did work at a small remodeling company.
I picked up Google Sketch-up as there was a free version and I could make it do what I needed, would pay for the full set if you plan to use it professionally for more tools and legal reasons. Another worker advocated Chief Architect as he was a long time power user of it. A friendly competitor I know well says Revit is the way to go, costs more but is does everything and more, also become a high level standard for some areas.
Look around, but you need to figure what you goals are. Photo realistic renders to sell projects is not the same as a live span load calculator. So look at what they were made to do, and their history. How the software started has a big influence on it use.
Hope that helps.

>"The moment you hit this camp from the highway, the signal goes to [nothing]." He added that, "People are reporting their cellphones are turning on, their [apps] are turning on, their battery is draining.
>We ran into similar strange rumors across camp for the next couple of days. People from every corner, whether they had been on site for days or for months, would talk about their cellphone signals cutting out just as drones circled above. Mobiles would switch themselves off and on again -- not in pocket but in hand. Camera apps were opened out of nowhere, and batteries would drain by enormous percentages, killing the phones in minutes, rather than the steady decline of any device pinging back and forth searching for a signal. There were even reports of people's Gmail accounts being hacked.
>The Stingray is one of a family of devices called "cell site simulators," which do exactly what it sounds like they do: simulate a fake cell tower. This allows the authorities to track people without using their GPS data, and thus without one of those pesky warrants. Other cell site simulators, like a DRT box, or dirtbox, are capable of decrypting data and voice calls from any phone that connects to them
>There are a number of unsecured WiFi networks within an eighth of a mile" of the camp. Those who connected would discover that their email passwords had been changed and they were temporarily locked out of their accounts. Michael also reported that the WiFi at the press tent "gets DDoS'd every couple of hours."

lol didn't these injuns learn anything. They tried to stop the railroads once too and the railroad workers laid tracks over their dead bodies.

This is exactly why I'm getting rid of my cell phone. We should put together a little money and send them Librebooted laptops.

It has a 220W TDP.
They made it so every am3+ motherboard would be a rock solid beast that would last for years.

Anyone own a 4K projector? Is it worth it? I live with my parents. I can move and buy a house, and a 1080p projector sometime next year. I'd probably have to live with my parents for another year if I wanted to save up to get a 4K projector (depending on what my January 2017 raise is at work).
Is a 4K projector worth it? Is a 1080p projector worth it? Or, should I just get a 4K TV?
Also, a "true 4K" projector is about $10k, or I can get one with "enhanced 4K" for only $3k (see below). I'm guessing that means its not true 4K.
https://www.amazon.com/Epson-Home-Cinema-5040UB-Enhancement/dp/B01IO0QWJA
Also, is there any new type of LCD/LED technology where the lighting actually shuts off or dims when there are dark parts on the screen? Part of the reason projectors are so superior is that a scene with pure black in it will actually have no lighting in the pure black area, whereas you get that "black/gray" light bleeding in areas that should be pure black in most TVs.
I have a 1080p projector and love it. 120 inch screen + projector for under $1000
4k is nice, but projector prices for it are off the charts. My next projector will be 4k, I figure in 5 years they will be sub $1000 US.
projector vs TV depends on room size and setup.
If the room is really small or has lot of light a tV would be better.
If you have a larger room where you can control the light, projector is nice.

>I am skeptical of the claim that voluntarily pedophilia harms children. The arguments that it causes harm seem to be based on cases which aren't voluntary, which are then stretched by parents who are horrified by the idea that their little baby is maturing.
Richard Stallman, 'Dutch paedophiles form political party', 5 June, 2006.
>There is little evidence to justify the widespread assumption that willing participation in pedophilia hurts children.

For those of you who are serious about adding networking to TempleOS I will list some information that will be useful:
1st thing you need is a packet driver. Porting one from DOS would likely be the best bet, as it will likely be in ASM.
Info: http://wiki.freedos.org/wiki/index.php/Networking_FreeDOS_-_Packet_driver_installation
2nd you need a TCP/IP stack. There are a number of open source/gpl ones out there:
http://wiki.freedos.org/wiki/index.php/Networking_FreeDOS_-_Loading_the_TCP-IP_Kernel
GLHF. It's certainly possible.
If you want to stick to Terry's Way, then you can use an RS232 converter box, such as what are used on Apple II and Commodore machines.

The better question is not how, but why?

Only CIA niggers are serious about adding networking to TempleOS.

I know that linux and osx users have no choice, they have to use mpv but what about windows ones? On my machine MPDN was always much faster than madVR and mpv but I prefer the mpv design and philosophy.

First time posting here, hope this is the right board. Pretty sure this will be a fresh question for you though.
How would one go about damaging someone's hearing and/or audio device over VoIP?
I am using a messenger on android that automatically adds contacts from your address book on your phone, while I don't utilize this feature, many people who I don't even fucking know have unwittingly revealed that they have my phone number stored on their address book. I wish to discourage such behavior (I am pretty sure someone is passing my number around thinking they are some 1337 7r01010).
Now, it just so happens I can access this app on my PC, and I have a pre-amp and a line-in.
My idea was to get a sample with a lot of pop, maybe a baseball getting hit. Raise the gain in audacity, pre-amp it and play it over line-in at the max volume on my rockbox't XDUOO X3.
what do I want from you guys?
>sample suggestions
>alternative methods
>advice on what kind of protection phone speakers might have
>advice on whether or not this is actually feasible
>>57835861
Suggestion: try this first with a second phone you own. If your ears get fucked, you now are sure to have discovered the correct method.
Kys faggot.
>>57835934
right, because i didn't think of that at all before asking for advice. did you eat a bottle of spastic pills for breakfast?

Yet another retarded 'murican.
Let me help out then: the speakers of mobile phones will never emit sound louder than the threshold defined by the user. So no, unless your target already has his phone on a deafening volume level, your genius plan will not work. Happy now?
2017 will be the year of Linux. You can quote me on that.
>>57835544
The real concern is, how do we defend against Microsoft?
Just look at /g/ today, telemarketers are all out to insult and taunt linux users.
>>57835544
I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Newegg had the FX 8300 on sale while back so I jumped on it right. Replaced a phenom IIX4 955. All other parts stayed the same other than cpu. You know the truth of it is that I've noticed absolutely no difference in performance since I made the swap. Sure my WEI score went up but that's been it. Now I'm sure once I fire up say media encoding app then the extra cores will be very useful but for all other things not so much. In fact in one case, trying to play Unreal tournament (1999) game the performance has went kinda down hill. Game kinda jerks, shudders, lags, i dunno how to really explain it. Just know that under Phenom chip game played perfectly fine.
