Likewise, I don't even have a smartphone.
So far the convenience outweighs my paranoia. This wasn't the case with MS and facebook which is why I don't use their products anymore
I need invention ideas for a school project. Pic unrelated.

Hi /g/uys,
This is for any discussion related to Vi or Vi-like editors.
Been using (Neo) Vim off and on for about a year, I think my situation is finally calm enough where I can switch to it full time without too much pressure.
Do you use Vim? Why or why not?
If you use Vim, what do you have in your config file? What are your favorite plugins?
>>57840896
been using vim since always, never got on the nvim train, missing out or just another one of those hipster things?
all I see looking into it is that I'd have to slightly tweek config and change some plugins to get the most out of it.
also somewhat excited just to wait and see if any plugins are going to utilize the new things from vim 8
>>57840940
If Vim is working fine for you and you are already heavily invested in your vim.rc file or whatever it is, I wouldn't bother switching over. I only use Neovim because I like the idea of supporting a cleaned up code base that isn't mired in backwards compatibility compromises.
What color schemes are you using and how do you install them in Neovim?
OP is a dumb frogposter edition
Post your component list, rate other anons', ask questions in general.
Always state the purpose of your PC, your budget, AND YOUR COUNTRY if outside the USA.
If you are asking for improvements, clarify whether you want to lower price or to improve specs or build quality.

They want to sell it for ~$400 when you preorder and $700 when you buy it after launch.

I like it. It's like GNOME-terminal, but with more features.
Why aren't you using nuclear power?
>inb4 expensive
Koreans build it cheaper than coal
>>57838598
hydro is the superior option. Cheaper and safer. You won't risk having two-headed animals nearby and nobody will have to breathe that disgusting smog of coal.

Name one good reason not to use Windows 7 with updates disabled.

GNU/Linux exists

Why do you hate Javascript so much?
>>57836349
It's very obviously the wrong tool for the job, because it's slow as fuck and a horrible language.
Why would do you that to your service? On the server side, you have free reign. You don't have to limit yourself to 100 requests per second and an unreadable shitlanguage that's error prone.
I mean, it's slightly better than PHP, but not good enough.
Because it creates a problem, then considers itself the solution to said problem.
Before Javascript there wasn't an issue about whether or not a site would load. That was a pretty well solved problem by that point. Now it's not unheard of for a site to shit the bed and be greeted with a screen of white.
>oh you wanted to do x? Rather than letting you know you can't do x, I'm going to do y because I guess it's barely similar to doing x.
Thanks weak typing.

I have turned off defender
There's really no point for an antivirus when I only go to like 6 different sites and I use an appropriately locked down browser

What other software is must-have? What's your setup? How do you keep your activity on the web private?
a VPN and not using microsoft or google products/services
I use Not Being American 2016, serves me perfectly

what happens when that stops working?
IPS: good for work
TN: good for gaming
VN: good for movies
why isn't there a monitor panel which can do it all, in the year of 2016? disgusting black levels& glow, shit viewing angles, laggy response times...
we didn't have this problem with CRTs back in the days
