Just ordered from taobao on my own without an agent, as I figured it was like aliexpress. Does Taobao ship internationally? My card was charged 28$ and that was the price of the item, free shipping I guess? What should I know?

Nvidia GPU is bad, but replacing the motherboard is too expensive. Anyone know a good way around it? Is it possible to disable the Nvidia GPU and only use the Intel IGP?

Maybe you're just retarded.
get pkg linux.exe
install pkg linux.exe -r

Of course every random computer should boot from every random USB with every random USB prep tool.
Get The Fuck Out. You don't need Linux and should not be interested in computers, period, since you also don't get basic hardware knowledge or USB flash drive prep knowledge which also applies, holy fuck, to installing Windows. Take your shit to Geek Squad, then KYS only after killing all your relatives that your DNA may be cease to defile the earth you mongtarded shitbag.
You had time to find a Stallman pic to highlight how stupid you are. This is why I stopped helping people install Linux. If you are smart enough to figure it out you won't pollute the internet with examples of your ignorance.
If Windows is too hard, buy a Macbook. Apple deserves you.
Rule 41 was passed and I've used tor and VPN's in the past, how do I protect my innocent, law-abiding self?
nothing.
i'm using a vpn right now.
nothing will happen.

You do know how the Linux kernel manages memory right?
What does it matter?
Your pc boots up 0.013 seconds slower now?
Who cares?
So chrome is auto-updating when you run it from a .dmg on OS X without installing it now?
Why wouldn't it? DMG are read-only so unless the app creates files within its own directory (requiring you to move it to Applications) its going to function as any other app would.
>>57828867
>Why wouldn't it?
?
It didn't auto-update before. It apparently does now.

What went so wrong with 3dfx?
>>57828136
I guess most anons currently on /g/ were little children while 3dfx still existed, so >>>/vr/.
>>57828136
What went so wrong with ATi that they were bought out by AMD ten years ago? What went so wrong with AMD that if Zen fails, they will be kill?
>Invested really heavily in programmable shaders when nobody really knew how to make them yet
>Because of this released some not-so-great products based on unproven tech
>Fucked over OEMs by suddenly deciding that they're going to make and sell all of their GPUs themselves even thou they didn't really any experience in making and selling their own hardware products
The thing that got Nvidia to where they are today is that they were able to buy up 3Dfx's assets and get all of their tech and knowledge for a pittance compared to what it cost to create the tech and amass the knowledge
Is the moto g4 plus the best phone under $250?
Why not the moto X pure? Alot more phone for just a little extra. Better camera and has nfc
>>57828079
No, the Redmi 4 is.
>>57828291
this. 21mp beats the fuck out of the 5mp camera in the g.
I've used G for years and going to upgrade to a pure soon myself.
>b-b-b-but I don't need a camera.
Trust me when I say it's better to get a good camera and not need than, etc, etc.
How long will it take for graphics/vision technology to look at least ~95% of the organic fidelity that our eyes capture. So it looks like real fucking life.
Let's say we use a $800 PC as the benchmark, so roughly a 1070 tier card we have today. How long to achieve the above given these consumer constraints?
Guesses, insights?
I'm going to guess 8-10 years.
how is current VR?
Do people see pixels and shit?

A thread died for your shit bait, please kill yourself
Google threw a penny at AMD meanwhile Nvidia stocks rose from around 60 to 90 dollars because everyone wants in on CUDA for neural networks
>>57828164
CUDA is the shit. I literally just bought a 6GB 1060 for deep learning. That being said, I'd love to see some competition in the GPGPU space, and this is literally the first I've heard of any. It's a good thing.

I still don't get it.
I want to run any game at ultra settings, be able to edit and render video fast, and run VR Games at Med-High graphics. Is this build overkill?

how often do you clean out your computer?
>>57827663
Whenever I have to turn it off for maintenance, which is rare.
>>57827663
I used to clean it every 2 weeks or so. Now much less because I placed a small filter on every intake on my PC.
Protip: go to your local dollar store and pick up some electrostatic mop refills (they're thin white synthetic dry cloth thingies) for $2 and attach them over your intake vents (and all other holes on your PC) with small magnets.
You will never have any dust inside of your PC. Those mesh filters don't do shit. They trap big particles but small particles get in and those are way more dangerous for your fans than bigger ones.
You can change these cloths every few months or so. And it's dirt cheap.
