Bad SMART status on the disk. I suggest replacement, you never know when it'll fail. Could be in two days or two years. If you're adamant about keeping it till it dies, at least back everything up periodically.

Has anyone ever had a good experience with these desi fucks? The recruiters are all pajeets with the thickest, straight of the boat accents Ive ever had the displeasure to hear. And do they even read your resume? The number of times I've gotten job postings for "French/Chinese/Whatever Bi-lingual Dev needed" when it says nowhere that I know anything apart from english.
Just pure fucking Indian incompetence.

I ended up getting a job from another company who were just as pajeet but we actually visit the offices and break down server rooms and help with moves in New York City. If we're not monitoring or working we're drinking beers and playing videos games. It's actually an amazing job, relaxed as fuck but have to be efficient.I'm happy I stuck to my worth and got a job I exactly wanted coming right out of college.
My recommendation, if you're looking at this company for employment, dont.

I believe it is the most powerful android for sale until the S8 comes out in the spring. I am running Cyanogenmod based on Android 7.1 on an old S5 and the V20 was the best one available to my knowledge.

Why are Apple pretty much the only ones who makes a 16:10 laptop? A more square aspect ratio on laptops is both a hell of a lot more functional and aestethic. Who decided that 16:9 should be standard on a format that's cramped for space to begin with?

The media often advertises iPhones as being extremely secure, and more secure than phones running Android.
Is this true? If so, why?
Most articles on the internet give the exact same arguments:
"You keep getting updates for a longer period of time".
"The app store is handled more strictly than the Play store".
Are these the only arguments for iphone being more secure?
They're not very convincing; here are my counter arguments:
If you want to keep getting updates on Android, you can always install a custom OS when your device's support ends.
If you're afraid of the play store, just get a malware scanner and be careful what you download (read about the apps before downloading them and read user reviews).
These can't be the only arguments; there must be more arguments, because a lot of tech-professionals seem to support the idea that iPhones are more secure. But what are these arguments, can someone enlighten me?

Three days asked and nobody has answered.
Long story short, I am coming into a free MacBook. Not sure if it's an air or a pro. It's brand new unopened.
Is there any way to track it or anything if it's brand new never opened or used? I've never heard a company using pre-OS Mac address identifying or anything. Am I safe? Id like to try Mac but chances are im just going to load some Linux distribution on it.

le me has some questions.
I put together parts for a pc i would like to build. The last time I built a PC was 2005ish and at that time we discussed about AGP 8x slots. So I am having a hard time with graphics card and CPU choice
What do I need the PC for? I will run it with linux most of the time.
o) everyday occurrence such as watch TV and vids
o) I will run intensive statistics calculation to test before sending it to the computation center
o) I plan to to some video editing & transcoding
o) I will run it on windows for some games (racing games, GTA, x-plane simulator and Farming Simulator 17 (that's a thing in my country)
o) I will need to attach a conventional PCI card (yes, I got them, need them, when I grew up ISA slots were unbeatable)

So basically I have four questions:
1. For the graphic cards I have two options: GeForce GTX 1080 or 1070. I read a lot, I still don't get it, both have the same 8 GB VRAM. I have no intentions in VR or 4k at the moment. Vendor claims "new" GDDR5X would increase memory clock, so what? Is it worth going for the 1080? seems a lot of money.
2. 6700K vs. 6700, worth?
I would pay manageable 30 bucks more for the 6700K, but I do not plan to overclock and I realised that the "maximum Turbo Boost" clock speed is about the same for both, while the advertised clock speed are 4.0 and 3.4, respectively. So which clock speed matters doing calculations? Will this be a advantage?
3. My mainboard will have 2 external USB 3 ports and some mainboards would offer like 4 or 6 such USB ports. But do I assume correct that these would share the same bandwidth so it's basically the same as a USB hub? I thought in most cases there are only two USB 3 controllers and therefore 2x all the full USB 3 speed, right? Back in my days, I was happy having a different USB controller for internal and external (USB 2.0 of course)
4. Will all play together?

hey really bored and i dont have any hobbies to dive into i'm a broke student working a minimum wage job and i just wanna know what hobby type thing i should start doing.
These are the hobbies ive been through
1. fashion(overweight too lazy to work out so i looked like autist so this hobby ended when i realized how autist i looked)
2. selling clothes(buy stupid shit from the thrift store sell it on some website at a 10$ markup this got boring so quick)
3. mini electronics/coding ( wrote stuff in python on a model b have autist brain cant concentrate so programming sucked and just copying great scott videos for electronics gets boring theirs not a whole lot of things to make that are useful that haven't already been made)
4. servers(bought a r710 for dirt cheap tried doing exsi things r710 isnt powerful enough cant really afford to buy good server stuff and to beta to ask companies if they are throwing away items i can buy for cheap ebay and craigslist items are terrible deals)
current "hobby":video games(great time kill but i feel so useless just sitting around playing vidya games)
so the current options that i think are availbe are man up and look for server deals start working out in my free time to look like chad or get back into programming/eltronics build things to see how they work
any help/recomdations i am bored and my life sucks

Not sure what feedback you're looking for here. I guess my best advice would be "stop being so worthless in every facet of life." Secondly, you could try setting up a webserver with the hardware you have and do some websites. Thirdly, go to doctor and get some ADD pills, they will give you your motivation back.

So i don't know where this belongs, but yesterday i purchased new computer parts through amazon through a friend's account as he has prime for cheaper prices and free shipping. The money was deducted from my bank account and all was well.
This morning, i look at my bank account and see that every single cent was refunded back to me, but according to my friend he never got anything from amazon about the order being canceled, and when i called chase they said that there is no reason on their end. My friend called amazon, and they said that the order has not been refunded. I also just recieved the order.
My question is do i have to send it back, call amazon and pay them, or do i go full jew and just take it?
