This is fucking disgusting. Javascript is awful. I was almost over the lack of neat data types, but I can't handle this. HTML was so gross I could hardly wait to get to programming, and then I find out the language I'd be using is even worse. I give up. I'd rather wipe people's asses for a living than be a web developer because it would be cleaner.

Wait till you have babies.
Also: HTML+JS is not so bad. At least it allows you to indent or not indent your code, as you please.

hey /g
since 1password is turning to online shit what do you use?
keepass is a great alternative on desktop but I'm looking for a more integrated solution like lastpass, dashlane, etc. Working with friendly UIs on mobile and all OSes like 1Password. I'm syncing my 1password on my Nextcloud instance so I would like to keep my data preferably.
Any suggestions?
What is your suggestion and why do you think it's safer than the alternatives?
Anything backing that safety statement? (open source repo, research paper, etc)
Thanks!
Hello folks!!!
Fuck off and use keepass
That is, a computer without any electricity, transistors, or things of that nature. Using only springs, levers, gears....etc. Gasoline engines are allowed if they are providing mechanical power, but not electrical power.
Would it be some sophisticated rube-goldberg machine? How would you store things in memory?
What's the most efficient way to do this

Look up Charles babbage's mechanical computer
You can make a computer in minecraft. A great book it read is elements of a computing system.
I treated myself to an Acer Predator XB271HU last week, jumping from 1080 @ 60hz to 1440 @ 144hz but I'm not sure If I made the right decision for gaming. Obviously the jump In screen size from 25 to 27 and an increase In pixel density makes desktop usage amazing, but I've had to turn down my gaming setting for my single OCed 1070, and 6700k @4.7. I don't have the time to do a side by side, or play all of my games to confirm I made the right choice, can /g/ tell me? Is the graphical setting downgrade worth the increase In resolution/ppi??
As someone with a 1440p 144hz and a Gtx 980 i think it's worth it.

Bruh...
Are later Radeons (post Southern Islands) still the best supported GPUs on Linux (via the open-source amdgpu driver)?
Last I checked, nouveau (open-source Nvidia drivers) were still flaky, Nvidia was refusing to support Wayland in their proprietary drivers, and both Ubuntu and Fedora made it a bitch to install Nvidia-proprietary drivers because of the Wayland issues.
>>62142670
Yes.
Anything GCN is fine, you'll need GCN1.2+ for AMDGPU+radeonsi though.
>GCN1.0/1.1 are usually via radeon+radeonsi, which is fine but doesn't support RADV, so keep that in mind if your buying used gear.
>>62142670
AMD open source drivers are, from what I hear, progressing very quickly now. I've seen some people suggesting they're actually better than the proprietary drivers for some games.
>>62142711
I'm shopping for a used workstation laptop (ThinkPad W-series, Dell Precision, etc.), and the Linux graphics driver problems are making the choices difficult because Nvidia Quadro really dominates this space, and when there are AMD FirePros or Radeons, they're pre-GCN or have some weird quirks that's not supported by amdgpu driver (not a lot of Intel integrated graphics-only models in this range either).
The Top app is better than the bottom app.
Ok, good thread but next time can you kill one that is shitting up the board and not just create one that shits up the board? Thanks

how can a desktop processor have just 6 or 10 watts TDP? What is this shit, and how do they compare to say, dual core ultrabook cpus?
Even the 10W ones are slower than Intel's 4.5W mobile parts.
>>62142507
They're basically Atom tier. Barely good enough to browse the web. Shit, avoid.

then what the hell were they thinking? are they just reusing silicon from botched boob jobs or something?
I built a new PC and it's running like fucking shit. Who's dick do I have to suck for some help?
- Ryzen 5 1600
- EVGA GTX 1070 SC
- MSI B350 Tomahawk
- 16GB 3000 team force ram
I'm watching videos of people use this exact setup or worse and get amazing 70+ fps in ultra settings on a lot of games, i.e., Witcher 3, Arma, PUBG.
Why am I still choppy at 25 - 30 fps? I don't fucking get it.

Is there anyway to foce PHP 7 and MYSQL on Windows XP 32bit because I dont feel like changing my nestaga machine's os just because people dont like supporting XP anymore
There are 32 bit Docker images for PHP and MySQL
If your computer supports 64 bits, just install a new OS
What is a Docker image?
This really wont work because I run a Pentium D. It can suport 64 but it is way slower that way. I would like to keep XP on there because its my nestalga machine.
