Hey /g/ what's the best method of replacing GPU TIM?
Is it just a dot in the middle or anything special?
>>62143837
Dot in the middle.
I've done cross, middle dot and finger spread multiple times (sometimes multiple applications on the same day) and they all work fine as long as you use the correct amount, too little and it won't work well, too much and it will get hot, the former is a lot more easy too fuck up though, a lot of people are afraid of using too much paste and they end up using too little, it takes a HUGE amount to get increased temps from too much paste were talking about 3 or 4 grams, a huge glob that covers the surroundings of the die with paste.
I've found out that dust and dirt have a great impact on temperatures too, even a heatsink that looks dust free can still have a thin layer of dust that can affect temperatures, plus while cleaning the paste from the GPU die can be easy using the appropriate alcohol, the same can't be said about removing it from the heatsink which can look clean but still be very dirty.
If you're going to do it I'd recommend you to wash the heatsink with neutral soap and water too.
Just remove the fans shroud and all the electrical stuff until you get nothing but the barebones heatsink and don't forget to dry it properly.

You don't It's snake oil and a risk.
So Anons, what do you think about vivaldi browser? I've started using it as a second (I'm web-dev).
DevTools are weak, but it's not suprising, otherwise, chromium with some update.
Is vivaldi raping my privacy?
>>62143830
Don't like it, it's worse than chrome and Opera.
>>62143830
the non-chromium parts are proprietary, so i would not recommend using it. on the other hand, to a regular user, the UI feels pretty nice and its definitely fun to use, but i really dislike everything else about it.
it's shit, Firefox is better in literally every possible way unless you're using a toaster from over a decade ago that isn't powerful enough to run a powerful, fully featured web browser and needs something lightweight.
>it's run by SJWs
so is every other good browser, and if they ever try to censor anything then everyone will switch to a Firefox fork that removes the censorship from the source code.

I've taken a few CS courses, 3rd year AI and DB, algorithms and data structures, and bioinformatics. Scored 75-97% in them, but got grades like 48% in Anatomy.
Parents won't fund uni anymore, dad wants me to do the trades, convinced him to let me do an online Coding Bootcamp like Flatiron.
Is it worth it?
Furthermore, could I even get in? I know acceptance into the programs on campus are in the single digits (usually 8%), but what about online?
>>62143332
I'm just going to be completely honest with you. Most bootcamps don't teach you mathematical concepts. You will leave knowing a language, but not how to use it...
For this reason, most jobs don't hire bootcampers. You're better off studying mathematics and learning programming on the side.
How much is it?
I saw one in tokyo and it was a 12 week program for like 10,000 usd

idk man it seems like you already have the skills and interest to do it on your own, you don't need to pay 15k to learn some javascript and CSS, especially if you're thinking about doing it online where you have little chance of making any connections like that
should i invest in another 8gb of ddr4
