They're some of the coolest people, you should plan a trip and go see the crew. Everyone is a family at that gym and I honestly didn't expect that to be true (Everyone says shit like that, right?) but it is. Also there's some fucking monsters in that gym; Some of the guys you never see putting footage up, pull insane amounts. Easily 10 dudes at BB who will pull 900 in the next few years, guarantee it. BB is going to become the spiritual successor to Westside; Not the training methods, but Louie Simmons' actual gym- Powerlifters of the next generation will be bred at Barbell Brigade and go on to be 800lb+ squat/deadlifters.
Honestly anyone here with even a passing interest in PL should go out to BB.

Hey guys.

Here is a bit about me.

> be fat from 20 to 30
> get on starting strength
> do heavy squats and deadlifts for 2 years.
> lower body strong upper body weak as fuck.

I am 34 now. Just got back into going to the gym after 2 years. All I have been doing for the last two months is upper body workouts.

My legs and back are still strong from all the work from starting strength. Is it fine to just ignore all lower body exercises and focus only on upper body to even out?

I do rember in the starting strength book that Mark Rippletoe said that squats and deadlifts do release a lot of growth hormones and can help upper body development. Is that just a meme? It didnt seem true when I did it two years ago.

Help me fit.

I use them after my 2nd warm-up set in squats.
I also use them on just about everything on Sundays... (provided I'm off work, or late shift).

If you don't weigh more than 200 lbs, you should get the green one from a company called GAIAM. Affordable and effective.

If you're closer to 250 lbs, check out the blue RumbleRoller.

Hey /fit/, some quick questions I've been struggling with:
Started out about a year ago at 6'3" 295lbs. Picture is 6'3" 199lbs.
According to the tape measurement method/online calculators I've used my body fat is 14-15%, though I'm not sure that's 100% accurate.

Where do I go from here?
Should I start eating above maintenance and building muscle? (I'm very weak currently, no lift above 200lbs)
Or should I keep losing weight and trying to cut my body fat % down to a lower % first?
I'd like to start building some strength and muscle finally, but I'm still a little annoyed that I have the hanging gut and tits and would like to make them disappear.
