as a heavyweight (250lbs @ 6') I do a lot of weight training. Don't think it's as necessary when you get down to LHW and below, though still important. Conditioning is extremely important.

Any Penn State students here? I don't go there, but I live right next to State College and will be home in a week for Thanksgiving break. Is it possible to sneak into the gym as a non-student, or do they check?

I see this term getting tossed around a lot. Frame size.

But its always vague.

It it height? Shoulder width? Bone thickness? Long Torso?

Would a tall guy with thick bones still have a "big frame" even if his collarbones aren't very wide?

Would a guy with thin bones, long legs and a short torso have a "big frame" so long as his collarbones were wide?

What about rib cage size, hands, feet, wrists ankles etc...?

Or do they even mean skeleton?

I've seen "muscular frame" plenty of times.

I have a weed and alcohol problem. I use one or both (cannabis oil so it's extra potent) every night. When I drink it's 9+ drinks. For a few months the nightly binges actually weren't harming me, but it's really caught up now. I'm in danger of failing out of uni, I have gotten fat, I have a pretty bad receding hairline, I can't sleep without booze or weed, and I'm always tired and feel like crap.

I've tried to quit a few times but something always drives me back. Usually not being able to sleep for more than a couple hours for a week makes me buy a six pack or drop a tbsp of oil just to get to bed. So how do I quit? I don't want this ruining my body and life anymore but I feel trapped since bludgeoning through my issues with my will did not work. I want to change but I never expected to get addicted to anything and I have no fucking idea how I'm going to get out of it.

Sounds like the withdrawals are fucking you over.
Weed withdrawals will last maybe a week or two, and start a couple days after you stop smoking. You'll get insomnia, chronic fatigue and depression but it'll go away within 2 weeks.

After those 2 weeks you'll feel great and not even fiend for weed anymore.

My big suggestion to you is to not increase your frequency of weed/alcohol when you give up one or the other. Don't substitute one for another.


I'd recommend tapering down to make it a bit easier than going cold turkey.

Instead of 9 drinks, have 3 instead, and then a few days later cut out the drinking entirely.

Same with weed. Maybe do 1 dab instead of 3, and only before bed

You've really got to force yourself to not do it. Go for as long as you can without drinking or smoking. If and when you cave, have it that one time and continue going without it as long as you can. You want to get to be not used to drinking and smoking a lot. Keep going and going and don't give up.

Take sleeping pills to fall asleep if you need to. Maybe try to find something that you enjoy that doesn't hurt you to fill the void. Remember how miserable your habit is making your life every time you find yourself craving drugs or alcohol. You could also try going to a support forum for addicts trying to quit.

What are the pros and cons of calisthenics versus lifting? will a calisthenics routine make me more athletic and suited to sports etc compared to doing ICF 5x5? should I just lift and get as big as possible and stop being autistic? Calisthenic training isn't linear, and requires more dedication to see results. It's used a lot in martial arts to develop "explosive" power, but you should also train with weights as well.
I'd say calisthenics are the way to go if you wanna box or look like breeze loo
