I was an idiot and decided I wanted to get weight off really fast. I went from 205 to about 150 in about two months. After I was done, I eased up, but noticed I was losing hair density, especially at the crown, so I started shaving my head. Apparently certain shocks to the body like fast weight loss can trigger telogen effluvium, but I had no clue at the time.
It's been about six months since then, and my hair is filling in again. Has this ever happened to anyone else, and if so, did all of it come back?
How did you lose that fast?
Fasting?
its a coincidence.
>>40058443
It was going to happen either way, The weight loss just triggered it quicker, from what I hear it's to do with the sudden increased/ decreased test.
I went from 106kg to 90kg in 2 months last year and didn't get any of this.
HOW THE FUCK DO I STOP EATING??!
I know, dumb question....just stop eating right?
Easy to say but harder in practice. My starving mindset always finds a way to rationalize eating 1000cal + meals, "then just dont eat much the rest of the day ;)"
But that doesnt ever happen.
Any mental tricks from those who have lost ~100 lbs or more? I want a good way to attack this psychologically other than just "lol eat less move more"
>>40058273
Bro you need to be motivated to do it and have discipline I decided I didn't want to be a fat fuck anymore and started limiting my intake. No one can do it for you its something you need to do for yourself
it is easy
if you actually do want to lose weight, and you're not just lying to us and yourself
you want the results you fucking do what it takes. simple as that
>>40058273
Steam up and season a bag of frozen low carb veggies and eat those.
Hey, niggas. I just got my braces refitted and they hurt like a bitch and ibuprofen usually takes the pain away. I still have to workout though. What might happen if I take it and workout?
>>40058085
nothing
>>40058085
Don't call me nigger, or my wife's son ever again.
>>40058085
I cringe at shoulder workouts because every time I do a seated dumbbell raise, my left shoulder pops every time I rise it. Any way to fix this?
are you working rear delts? i hear that helps
>>40058015
Retract your scapula with your rhomboids, read books...
>>40058028
I don't do them, but how does that help my joint?
So lots of people are telling me that Costco has lots of meat for decent price. The kind've meat that you can just chop away as you need it and fridge the rest. Would it be alright for me to constantly eat beef as a protein source, or would that be seen as unhealthy?
>>40057899
If you're worried just get chicken boobs or turkey tits instead.
>>40057923
>chicken boobs
>turkey tits
I've been eating 4-5 lbs of 93% lean beef every week for a year and I'm not dead yet
Well, /fit/?

I just started lifting 3 months ago and I'm noticing facial hair growing when I had close to none before. Does lifting actually affect facial hair gains? I'm 26 btw
You just get more hairy as you get older. Soon your asscrack will be a forest as well.
no, you mongoloid
how retarded do you have to be to actually believe something like this?
>>40057609
My ass was always a jungle all my hair is on my legs and in my asshole
Dumb question, but what does it mean to "flex abs"?
I can either suck my abs in, which flexes them and contract them, and make my stomach flatter
OR
I can "push" on my abs so they contract (mostly the lower part), which has the effect to push down my lower abs / belly fat when I do that
So which one of these movements should I train when they say "train abs" and which one is used when flexing ?
or am I a mutant?
>>40057593
suck in = vacuum
push out = useless
tighten/tense = flex
>>40057654
is it possible that I don't even have enough muscles to do the 3rd one ?
>>40057887
Or you just cant yet. Muscle mind connection....
Is it safe to microwave meals in tupperware?
I'm a student who only has tupperware and paper plates. Considering buying glass storage ware if microwaving tupperware is not safe.
Just transfer it to a plate and then do it.
>>40057510
get a couple pyrex bowls
It's fine. I've worked in restaurants for over a decade and 90% microwave at least one thing in tupperware.
What are peoples thoughts on low carb high fat diets. Are they a meme? Also, is it possible to make gains without carbs?
>>40057479
It's a meme

Mostly, it's good for average people who eat too much junk food. It is very easy for someone to learn what carbs are, and then just avoid them. This helps them avoid junk food (chips, cookies, soda) and fast food (fries, burgers, hot dogs). As far as that goes, I think it's quite successful. It's much more complicated for people to learn the difference between a slice of cake and a boiled potato, so by telling them to just not eat both it simplifies everything. Pretty much they are left with meats, vegetables, some cheesea/yogurts.
I don't personally like the whole low carb craze for a couple of reasons. I think in general people should be eating less meat/dairy, not more (mostly for ecological reasons, but also due to the amount of problems that come along with factory farming). It also discourages people from actually understanding what they are eating and instead just leads them to entirely avoid a single macronutrient. It's very drastic and most people will have a hard time sticking to it in the long term, or its prescribed as a short term solution and the individual eventually reverts back to their old bad habits after they lose the weight they wanted.
I'm not entirely up to date on the research though so I could be way off. But the way I've understood it that's what I think
I got a chinup bar and installed/used it for the first time yesterday. I'm following the advice from this video, I've heard the guy's reliable.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRznU6pzez0
Is there a health risk to doing the 5 sets of 8 every day instead of every other day? Also, how high should the bar be mounted? I have it at forehead height but I'm not sure I did that right.
no health risk, you just won't get good results because you're not giving your shit time to heal
>>40057408
depends how hard they are for you right now
theres not much risk per se unless you do them weighted / they are hard for you yet.
Bigger risk is if the bar actually snaps up from doors (i saw that happen, it realllly has to be mounted HARD)
You can train daily, just 5 sets of 8 might be too much volume especiallly if you add weight (which you should once you get good enough at them)
>>40057433
lmao i bet you look like shit, so caught up with overtraining that you forgot to even fucking lift fucking kek
My college gym is closed for reparations until we start classes in February.

Anybody else feel a pinch on top of their shoulder whenever they retract their scapula? Pic related. I think it's an ac joint injury but I'm not sure
its definintely an ac injury joint
be careful because once you fuck that joint up its donezo, forever. no overhead anything, no shoulder stability for simple shit like pushups, shit sucks man
t. someone with a grade 3 separation
>>40057081
fuuuuck. I can still do overhead exercises with minimal pain, but I am feeling my shoulder becoming weaker. Any tips to strengthen/fix?
>>40057141
stregnthen your back muscels specifically near your scapula so your shoulder is stable and supported
there was really only one exercise I did in pt which was just sticking a band in a door and standing in front of just kinda squeezing with your back holding the band. it helped a little
you didn't fully separate it tho, that was grade 3 is. Mine moves and shit. anything less than grade 3 is heal able, meaning just go easy on it. Very easy. Let it rest, the joint is torn but not fully dislocated.
