A lot of people are surprising in their nimbleness, flexibility and speed. They actually work-out and do sports, but can't put down the fork. Being fat and being muscular aren't mutually exclusive.

So /fit/ ive decided that i will join the dutch armed forces as a armored infantry men

however i am by no means fit enough to actually pass the test the physical test consist of 4km run in 40 min and a 2,5km run in 12 minutes with 50 kilos of gear and after that you need to do 30 pushups and some other stuff

how do i do this /fit/ ? in 4 months the test will take place is it possible to get fit for the test in that amount of time ?

Run lot, push ups a lot, sit ups a lot and pull ups. Lifting honest to god isn't going to help you with military training. You just try to increase volume every day on push ups and sit ups and pull ups. Because doing push ups only help you do more and the am for the other and that's all you do in basic. Run a shit ton tho, running in the u.s military is a lot of the work in basic

I've been lifting for around 6 months now, and my hands have these calluses on where my fingers connect to my hand.

They sting after repeated holding of a barbell or anything of the likes.

Should I be wearing gloves for lifts, or should I just fight through it?

I'm trying to estimate the calories I burn during a workout.

Say the mass I'm moving is 20 kg, h is 0,5 meter and I repeat this 540 times.

20 x 0,5 x 10 x 540 =54000 joule = 12,90 kilocalories

I know a 30-40 minute weight lifting session can't burn only 12 kcals but what's wrong in this calculation?

Just wattage from movement does not count for all calories burnt.

If you try a bike, pedal 100 watts for 30 mins, it will tell you you burnt more calories than just Power over Time

Is crossfit a meme?

Does anyone here do it? I started four weeks ago and I'm starting to get into it.
Anyone here find it to be any good for fitness and gains or should I just do SS and avoid all the potential injuries people talk about.

Depends on the gym. Some are bs, some actually focus on technique.

I go to a good crossfit gym, the trainers are pro who teach and demand good technique. We do good division of weight training, bodyweight training and aerobic/anaerobic training.

Personally i like it, my training is more diverse than before and i get constant feedback on my form.

Plus tons of hot chicks.

I put usually 1kg of sweet potato and around 500 litres of chicken stock.

the potatoes get really mushy after about 7 hours and i just mash them up and put butter, salt and pepper its amazing

Then I just fry up some chicken in a frying pan

Stews, generally

meal prepp'ing chicken curry for this week after gym, gonna look something like

> 1kg chicken breast
> 1 cup lentils
> 500g peeled potatoes
> 1 onion, diced
> 6 cloves of garlic, minced
> chunk of ginger, minced
> half a chili pepper, minced
> curry powder
> turmeric
> garam masala
> chicken broth
> s&p

> Recipe

1.) Heat 1tbsp oil (I use butter) in pan over medium-heat and brown chicken, about 3 minutes

2.) Remove chicken from pan and replace with onion, garlic, ginger, and chili

3.) Sweat down, about 10 minutes

4.) Place chicken and veggies in slow cooker

5.) Add lentils and potatoes. Add other veggies like spinach, mushrooms, etc. if you want at this point

6.) Cover in chicken broth

7.) Add curry, garam masala, etc.

8.) Cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3. Make sure to stir well every half hour or so so the lentils don't stick to the bottom

You can fuck with the meat to bring up the calorie count or remove it entirely if you're vegetarian/vegan and add cals using coconut milk
