What are some things that are negative or suck about fitness and going to the gym?

I find the negatives oddly motivating

My gym is very cheap only 30$ per month food is cheap for me bc farmer I want a potato I walk outside and yank a potato lol the clothing issue is the only one that gets me but i dont mind since I have No fashion sense and This give me the opportunity to constantly try new styles

so i'm feeling fat and lazy for not getting exercise except for cardio, but the tattoo artist kinda wants me to take it easy maybe. he said because the inner elbow is such a hard place to get the ink to stay (without "tearing me up") that he wished he could make me wear a splint while it heals. so now i'm kinda paranoid about it and also my arm fucking hurts and looks pretty torn up in places. scabs are forming and it's starting to heal i'm sure but yeah.

since i'm sure everyone who's into fitness has badass tattoos (fuck yeah!) i figured you guys would be the best to ask. also my wrist is swollen a little

I've been calorie counting for a little under 2 months, only have gone under my limit 3 times and every time it's been because of wings.

How do I stop falling for the sauced jew?

Started at 200, I was gonna do an extreme deficit until I hit 180 then IDK what.

How long did it take you to get to 1/2/3/4? Also, what routines did you do?

I've been lifting for 5 years, but super inconsistently. I spent about a year on pretty much every day.

Then for the 3 years after that I'd have weeks where I'd go 3 times a week, and then month gaps in between. I was lifting everyday this summer, took some time off in Fall, and now I'm back it at least three times a week. I hit 1/2/3/4 this past Summer.

I probably could have gotten there in like 2 1/2 years if I had stayed consistent. The fall break dropped my strength. I can get 1/2/3 now but not for as many reps as I used to do. I tried 365 DL a few days ago and only got 2.

As far as routine goes, I started with 3x8-10 then 5x5, but I don't really keep track at this point. I more go for what feels right.

I definitely always aim for heavy lifts over reps, so I tend to stay below 8 reps for most lifts, but in terms of sets I keep going until I know my body is at its limits. I think this is much better than coming to the gym with the idea that you're going to do x reps and y sets. Just know your body and go to your limits.

I made sure I did the big four 2x a week, I'd do 2 warm-up sets at lower weights for 8 reps then do 5x5 heavy lifts, then 3x3 + 2.5kg (for bench and ohp), once a week I'd do my 1rm 2x1. Bench and ohp exploded this way. With squat and deadlift you can add 5kg every 2 workouts, BUT you have to make sure you have good form. For squat I had to relearn everything from pussy weights and leave my ego at the door.

/fit/ im new here and wondering if you guys know is it possible to get good looking abs in a month.

well if all you care about is abs definition, calculate your TDEE and eat like 800kcals below it while working out, though you're not gonna see all that much diff in a month. if you actually wanna get in shape however, read the damn sticky

Eating causes small amounts of Dopamine release OP. Dopamine is the shit that makes you happy. Your brain causes this release of Dopamine to reward you for eating because food is necessary for survival.

Unfortunately in the 21st century where people can get virtually as much food as they can eat they can binge on this Dopamine release to gain temporary happiness.

It's all mental you stupid fuck. When something makes us happy, we continue to do it. If there is no other source of happiness, we turn to the easiest source. This is with any addiction, our brains need our fix. Whatever that fix may be, ofc.

I lift because it makes me happy. To see how strong I can become, see where I was, see where I can get. But at the end of the day, im not doing it in a healthy manner brah...im fucked just like a fatty. I want to surpass my limits...i keep going back to lift the next weight. I keep chasing the dragon. We're all fucked brah...

I only stretch legs regularly cause I have instable shoulders from what my surgeon calls, "hyper flexibility".

I just touch my toes for 1 minute
stretch quads for 1 minute each
stretch calves for 1 minute each
And butterfly stretch for 1 minute.

I don't think it's very good but I refuse to stretch for a half hour at a time.

Alright so I want to start working but but my body is a fountain of sweat. Especially my ass. I swear from my ass the most. In fact, I don't even need to exercise for my ass toff sweat. I would be walking around in public and my ass starts sweating. I always think people can see it because whenever I walk past people, they start giggling as I pass them and some stare back at me, but whenever I check myself, I never usually see it.
Anyway, is there a way to prevent this? Or is this normal in the first place?
