Hi guys, my mom is in her late 40's and is looking to get fit. She's insistent that she basically wants a workout DVD to follow along with.

I'm sort of new to being /fit/ (been working out for ~2 years consistently) and know nothing about training women -- much less middle-aged women. What should I be looking for?

You should have her start doing cardio and basic weight training
It will help her bone density. Ensure she gets enough protein and calcium, as women need that in their later years. Be mindful that her recovery time idea lot slower than yours, but make sure she is unafraid to push herself. Also make sure she finds a good stretching routinr. Yoga could do all of what I suggested in one felll swoop, but it take a commitment

Hey my dudes, lets do another /cutting/ questions because i have a heck of one.

Currently im obviously trying to stay fairly low carb. I know keto is about 10-15 grams in a day, and i could probably do that but would be much more comfortable around 20 grams a day. That said, whats the lowest and highest you should go when doing a low carb cut?

Besides that im doing 2000 cals a day and about 190 grams of protein (im 6' and 190lbs)

If you are lifting doing extra body weight work is likely overdoing it. Stick to just cardio or implement the bodyweight work into your current routine.

Not sure why you'd bother with this meme diet when you can literally just eat a balanced diet whilst counting your macros. If you must do keto you can generally go around 50 g of carbs, but most of those carbs should come from fiberous carb sources like greens and veggies. Also, only 2k calories? Seems pretty low at your body weight

This is the board I started my /fit/ journey on. I was once a small 130lb 13 year old looking for all the right mass in all the wrong places. I decided to look online for somewhere a group of highly intellectual individuals get together and talk about skwats. I then found /fit/ and found the skwat talk, still looking for the intellectual. All jokes aside, this board really did help me get on the right track for my lifting career, and I hope you guys benefit from it as much as I did. Currently 19 years old, 225lbs 6'2. Recently pulled 620 at 202lbs and now getting prepped for IPL Worlds. Really aiming for 700lb pull before 20. I started out reppinng 85lbs on bench press.... Really just want to show you bros, it does not matter where you start. It all comes down to diet and getting your work in. Also, more chicken and turkey then you will ever want to eat or even see... All for the gains bros.
