What do you guys think of a 5 day split versus a push/pull split?
IE:
Push x Pull x Rest x Push x Pull x Rest
(versus)
Chest x Back x Arms x Shoulders x Legs x Rest/Cardio
People say 5 day splits suck because you only hit the muscle groups once per week -- but it seems like upper chest is hit by OHP on shoulders day / legs are hit by deadlifts on back day, etc.
Thoughts?
if its not direct work on the muscle dont consider the muscle eing 'hit' by an exercise. 5 day splits are useless for natural lifters. unenhanced muscle protein synthesis is elevated for up to 48 hours. why wouldnt you train it again when its ready to go? keep the frequency at least 2x/week per muscle

Upper / Lower split (for primary compounds anyway) is GOAT.
Push and Pull in the same day because it's better for your shoulders. Bro splits leave a lot of gains on the table because of that lack of frequency.
Do something like

2: >Bench, Row, close-grip bench, misc tricep / pec work, weighted plank
3: >Deadlift, Good Mornings, GHR / Back raises weighted plank

What are some under-rated or less known exercises, foods, techniques
Couple off the top of my head:
Face pulls- Easiest way to double the size of your delts. Mostly rear delt but it pushes everything up and out too.
Grip width variations on bench- Best way I've found to target front delts with the most weight is wide grip bench. Similarly the best way to get a ton of weight on your triceps is close grip bench yet I never see anyone doing either.
Quark, Kefir, Skyr, etc- Cottage cheese is about the only one most people know about but high protein fermented dairy in that no-mands land between yogurt and cheese are godlike for protein with low calories and often come packed with B vitamins, Vitamin K, etc.
Satay- pretty uncommon in the west but with nuts + oil + various meats + veg it's one of the best bulking foods around and can easily top 1200 calories per plate.

Essential tools-
A good weighted all-purpose knife. Literally the single most important tool in a kitchen. If there's a task you can't do with it, it's not all purpose. Nothing else is essential in a kitchen.

Xanthan gum- Cheat mode for sauce and thickening.
Erythritol- Cheat mode for low calorie/low carb baked goods.
Almond flour- As above.
Cous cous- When you want a full meal with grains, meat and veg in less than 10 minutes.

Try overnight oats.
I love porridge cooked on the stove and always feel meh about microwaved porridge but overnight oats take the time out and give as good a result.

So I pretty much have no sex drive and it's fucking up my sex life. Been seeing this girl recently who is pretty horny and I just can't be fucked sleeping with her. I recently got a testosterone check and I came in at around 14 total testosterone and 360 free testosterone reading which is pretty low but still considered in the 'normal' range. My doc thinks the low sex drive could potentially be anxiety/depression related and not necessarily due to testosterone levels, but she's going to get me to get a second reading and potentially refer me to an endocrinologist.
Has anyone had any experience with this bullshit? I was half thinking of just getting the second blood test after a night of partying + no sleep so my levels will be low as fuck to get me on TRT, but I'm not super comfortable with the idea of going down that path.

I'm on TRT and it's made a pretty significant difference in my libido and ability to get hard. Especially when used with arimidex to keep the estradiol at the right level. I take 200mg test/week which is as high as you can go without turning in your natty card. Try it. It also improved my body and made me more confident, too. I wouldn't even think of using SSRIs now. I plan to use TRT for life. Love it.

My goal is to improve my looks, I don't really care about strength.
Some say those are bad routines for aesthetics, but others say I should build a strength foundation before I start worrying about looks.
What programs do fit my needs? Yesterday someone recommended Ivysaur's 4-4-8 program, but I would like to get more opinions.
There's a simple answer to your question: any. You're a beginner, and novice gains will pave over deficiencies in any program. Hell, even hardcore natty brosplitters (body part once a week) get gains when new.

Also, there's a common belief that for aesthetics, you'll need a strength base. That's arguable, but very common.
SL/SS is in the low rep range and makes you accustomed to excercises and the technique needed for them.
If I were you (started at 23, also skinnyfat), I'd take a 5X5 or something similar, throw in accessory work (biceps, triceps isolations, shit like that) and just take my novice gains. After that switch to a higher volume program - because your body will need higher volume to get a response.
Check out Greyskull LP, slight emphasis on aesthetics compared to SS, and the progression is just way more fun
