Who here uses hook grip on DL and what weight did you need to start using hook grip to advance your DL? How will my grip strength gains be affected with hook grip?
I've practiced it before but I haven't needed it until now. Today I could barely finish my last set and almost dropped the bar but my back is easily ready for more weight. I'm almost at 3 plate but I can't make it with standard overhand grip so it's time to bring the pain.
Don't tell me about alternating grip or straps, I don't fucking care.

I know how to DL but my lats are way ahead of my back, so my back is the weak point. I didn't start DLing until I had been hitting the gym for a year because I listened to people who said it was dangerous and at the time I was only lifting for looks.

I had an umbilical hernia for about 7 years and trained the whole time with it. Squatted and deadlifted in the 500s too.

I got it fixed about a month ago because I figured it can't be good having it but it never bothered me

Hey bros, I was at the gym today doing legs. I hopped on the leg press machine. I was on my 3rd set doing about 70% of my one-rep max whenI felt a "pop" in my lower-back on the way up. I immediately stopped the exercise. When I stood up I felt a little nauseous and a stiffness in my lower back. Any time I try to bend over, it's pretty painful. Walking, laying down, and sitting straight up isn't painful. Only while actively bending over. I can't see a doc until tomorrow, and I'm currently icing the area. Just wondering if you guys have experienced something similar? Thanks in advance for any input.
