I work at a storage facility and one of the storages have years (probably decades) of piss soaked into the wooden floorboards caused from a bad tenant. It smells so strong you can smell it 30 feet away on hot humid days.
Any ideas on how to clean old wood? Or more importantly, remove the odor of piss out of it?
>>1222127
rip them out
you won't get rid of the smell
do they really let people live in those things? I thought it was just a meme.
Can anyone tell me what this is used for? I bought a box full of air hammer bits from a tool sale and this was in there. Can't really figure out what it would be used for.
some sort of edge roller?
Is it a discombobulator?
noticed the teeth were getting a bit yellow. Wanted to know if there are alternatives to getting my dentist to do it since I surence won't cover it. I know they make teeth whitening strips but I'm skeptical about what they use in that shit. I brush all the time but overtime the food and soda beer and wine really make an impact. Anyone have at home remedies?

Brush after every meal and any food or drink known to stain. Floss 2/day.
Make a 2:1 hydrogen peroxide and baking soda paste and brush with it 2/week, no more or it can be harmful to enamel. Let sit in mouth for a few minutes after brushing. Rinse thoroughly.
Blend everything you wish to ingest and pour it down a feeding tube into your esophagus to bypass your teeth completely.
Enjoy white as fuck teeth.
drink bleach

Bleach and baking soda mixed gives good results.
Need to make various custom sinker shapes and sizes.
They sell a "blank mold" which seems to be just 2 blocks of metal with handles. Looks like aluminum maybe.
Could i carve these out with a dremel tool and polish or grind it for a smooth finish?
Before i go blowing money in molds and diamand bits or whatever i though i might check here and see if any other anons have carved out aluminum before.
Thoughts?

>Could i carve these out with a dremel tool and polish or grind it for a smooth finish?
test that theory out on some scrap wood before you go spending a bunch of money
Are you the novelty dong guy?
>>1220841
I would hope not
after this amount of time one should have just said screw it, and at least tested something, regardless if it was ideal
Suggest some really easy and simple diy projects that a lazy guy could do.
All the experience with diy I have was when i was homeless and lived in the woods for 3 month, built some shelters spears and traps, didn't bother with bows. And this chair I bought and assembled which probably doesn't even count towards my diy score.
Note: I'm in the military so items that would help out there would be cool too.
>>1220534
Some people collect bits of string.
>>1220538
Thats not diy what the fuck?
>>1220541
>Thats not diy what the fuck?
you can make doilies to put on the backs of your chairs so that hair oil does not stain them as much.
I want to make furniture out of old pallet planks, what is the quickest way to glue many planks to make a board? how about the cheapest?
>>1220339
NIGGER YOU JUST KILLED A THREAD FOR THIS
WHAT THE FUCK FAGGOT
>>1220340
its a legit question
>>1220349
oh look here's a Questions that dont deserve their own thread thread
you stupid fuck
did you just forget how to read?
If you had a garden, what would you put in it? I have a 10'x15' plot that I want to use. I've googled around for all the usual options. Right now I will use 6'x8' for strawberry's, for Mead and eating, I also plan on sowing some staple crops, potatoes/ carrots/eggplants etc. What crop would I be retarded to not plant, /diy/?
Sweet corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, peas, and beans are all good. You could also plant shit like squash, beats, lettuce, broccoli. Really just plant whatever you like
>>1218910
Just to add to this. If you plant some garlic and and dill you could make your own pickles.
>>1218906
post more arse
I take dropping threads around here very seriously. I decided this one could die.
So I built a boat after lusting after a tiny wooden boat for weeks.
It is still being made into a better one (fixing laziness, poor calls, and impatience feom earlier), but I've spent about 10 hours in it so far and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I thought I would share.

pic
tures
The first time that I realized that having no idea about boatbuilding would be a major handicap was attaching the stem.
The directions were geared more towards experienced builders, and left a lot assumed. I am still fixing this mistake because I had no idea how to actually attach the sides and make sure that they seal and are properly mirrored. I am still not sure, but I know one way to not do it.
>>1218606
Working on it. Typing walls.
Once I had assembled the frame that goes near the middle (totally had only 2 dimensions on it so I winged it. I am happy with it.) I learned that the sides were not quite perfect, and as I got the transom set on the sides I could see a little bit of twist in the whole thing. Not fatal, but I can see it.
Sup /diy/ what chinkshit did I buy at the thrift store?
got this partial coffee table to re-top with pallet wood and sell to hipsters for $200-300.
but what the fuck is this thing under it?
the fan looks like some incredibly janky shit made by stamping vanes into a circular disk, and it seems like there's heating elements going around the edges.
okay, i didn't notice the heating elements before.. i guess it could be something to keep food warm and/or use collect insurance on your house after it burns your house down
if no one can help i'll take this to the local chinese restaurant and see if one of the mamasans will translate the moonrunes for $2
I gotta wonder, for a man that's short on time, how much better would I fair just buying an older model C-class motorhome like pic related, instead of completely overhauling and DIYing a van with many more renovations compared to what I would be doing with a motorhome?
Bump, for I am a man who is likewise interested in the discussion and answers of such a query
>>1215335
Then you are both fucking retarded. Van life is a meme, and there's already another shit post on here about the exact same topic.
>>1215343
I'm also in the same situation, so there's room for multiple threads about a topic that will become more and more necessary in today's world.
I have an advanced degree in Medieval European Cultures and Religions, but for the time being I work at a fast food establishment so I need to cut corners.
How do you organize your tools and parts?
So does anyone have any tricks or suggestions for staying organized?
I'm in a apartment so space is a premium and throwing stuff in plastic boxes becomes a mess and makes finding stuff hard.
The best trick I found so far is to use a filing cabinet and putting small things in files so it's easy to find.
I mostly do electronics so it's all small things. Those parts bins are good but you can only have so many in a apartment.
>>1213896
i use an old six-pack box and a pair of milk crates. 0/10 would not recommend living like me
those stackable containers with that angled opening like in your op image there are the gold standard for small parts storage and sorting. you can also get a cubby unit, or even just shelving with dividers.
>>1213896
Magnets and a big metal thing are a good way to organize all your component bags.
>>1213948
Absolutely disgusting.
Is one of these types superior to the other?
>>1210353
Double ended wrenches are vastly superior to all with small tool boxes.
Which reminds me. I need to transfer tools from my old "home made" tool box to my new one
The upper one has less possibility to brake as it has less weak-points, however it may slip easier on a bolt as the patch of contact is reduced. The bottom one has a far greater contact patch, though is weaker at the point closer to the handle.
Think of the bottom wrench as to why it might be easier to break the same way why a drink-can is cylinder shaped (for durability) and not square shaped (for space saving).
I think if one would be superior to the other; the less superior one would be discontinued long ago, unless there are factors of cost-saving which I believe is not the case here.
>>1210353
>Is one of these types superior to the other?
no they arent
they will do the work both, only thing you need to watch out is shit quality and "chink shit"
Things that make you go hmmm.
isn't that a lot of weight of axle

Not sure what you mean, but full sized school buses are built to move 5000 lbs of kids on a daily basis. Would make a pretty reliable toy hauler
I got about 15 kilos of copper coins that has no other value than the copper it's made of. So I want to make bars of them. I have not done this before. Any advice on what and what not to do? I need to get some gear off of ebay to make this possible, but I'm not looking to spend a fortune, as this might be the first and last time I do this.
>>1222679
you sure it is not copper plated? because they are copper plated
>>1222684
yes I am sure.
>>1222679
take them to a scrap yard
if they don't take coins melt it down first
I was able to buy a desk I would otherwise not be able to afford because it was damaged during delivery so the original buyer was allowed to keep it and sent a replacement. Unfortunately, prior to selling the damaged desk he took it upon himself to fix it which he proceeded to half ass. Pic is the damaged area. The leg cracked next to the point where it joins a horizontal support for the drawers. He glued them back together with gorilla glue.
What are my options to fix this?
Pic related is the back.
>>1222319
Well, you're probably not getting it apart without re-breaking it, let alone cleaning that seam up.
Is it a cosmetic issue? Or are you concerned with the structure?
>>1222320
fill crack with some copper spray-a-gasket to give it a cheap chinese Kintsugi effect
