/cgl/ nostalgia thread. You know the drill. Discuss,share,...be it about weeb times, lolita or cosplay.
I was thinking about Princesse Skye and decided to sneak around a bit to see if there was like anything left of her today...i finally found something..pics are from 2015 on sabatomic.com who always took her pics when she was lolita and she'll turn 30 this year since she was 21 in 2007/2008. It made me at peace to see her looking "fine" at least, and not some trashy model or dead or on drugs like some anons rumored. Not going to attempt anything or stalk her, i just wanted to know if she was ok? Idk. She got me in the fashion in the first place, and i'm turning 21 this year.
Thoughts on a dress you are considering...

Haven't seen any discussion about this.
The person who has keeping ikkicon from drowning quit and is starting her own convention.
Thoughts? Will it fail?
New Gyaru thread, because the old one faded away into the archives.
Can we hope for egg coming back this year?
Anyone who can tell us how the revived version of koakuma Ageha looks like?

DS/DT: Moi-Meme-Moitie Holy Queen skirt
-Second owner, I never wore it. Unsure if first owner did or not
-Max 72cm waist

You can buy it via the LM link, or please email me/reply for trade offers. I am looking for medium to dark gray non-print JSKs, preferably IW or VM. Double-breasted is a plus, the more it looks like the IW Rosa Pleats JSK the better, or if you have that then great.
WTB/Interested in: JSKs/OPs/Accessories with animal/forest/mori-esque themes!
I'm talking things like Haenuli's Enchanted Fawn, Meta's Little Squirrel, Baby's Fairy Topiallium, Peppermint Fox accessories, etc.. Things with motifs of deer/fawn fur, rabbits, trees/forests, mushrooms, flowers-- stuff like that. Interested in any brand, even indies, but am a size M-L bust size, and any kind of item-- legwear, headwear, jewelry, OPs, JSKs, overwear. I'm 100% interested in seeing anything anyone plans on selling that'd fall under this category!
WTB: Haenuli Stained Glass Saint Vitus Skirt or JSK in L.
Open to other stained glass prints/jewelry/accessories too. Prefer them to be in a black colourway.

- Tutorials and links that can help with Homestuck cosplays. Refer to it if you need help. Any contributions welcome.
> Discussed in the last thread was the idea of a "Homestuck Cosplay Oscars". Which HS cosplays this year would you award, and for what?
> Also discussed was the idea of a Homestuck Cosplay Hall of Fame. Who would you suggest would go on it, and what would determine who goes on it?
For the Hall of Fame, I feel like people who have made the list in the past, but have stopped cosplaying HS would make it. Simple enough. But I see it less as "the best HS cosplayers ever" and more as a list of great cosplayers who used to cosplay homestuck.

Share your progress, buying/arranging tips, and post some of your favorite bags or themed outfits/accessories
At least from my experience ordering from cowcow (I'm to give you an idea), if in color it probably will print duller so brighten it if that is something that will bother you and I would try and stick to a color theme in your collage. Lines may end up a tad blurry but it shouldn't be too big of and issue. Try to localize your favourite shots in the center in case the the collage is larger than space on the shirt just so you can be sure they get in there. Also I am not sure about the rest but with the long sleeve crop top the arms are a little loose which can be a pain in the ass.
I'd like to discuss some things I thought about recently.
Here are some questions:
- Do you compare yourselves a lot to other lolitas in general?
- Do you compare your style/ability to coord to others?
- Do you compare your wardrobe (amount of dresses & items, amount of brand stuff) to others?
- Do you unintentionally make lolita fashion a kind of competition?
- Do you get angry when Lolitas wirte sth. like this: "This is just my SMALL lolita dress collection" [List with 30+ dresses & other items follows] ?
I shamefully have to admit that I can answer all the questions with Yes.
Sometimes I feel more confident about myself, for example if I got good photos or ordered new items. But at other times it's so frustrating that I think about giving it up.
I'd like to know your thoughts/feels about that, how you deal with it, your experiences, advice etc.
I have to say no to all of those. I'm involved in my local comm and am somewhat involved in the international comm but generally I don't really care what other people are doing, what they're wearing, how big their wardrobes are or how great their coords may or may not be (though I do love looking at other people's coords for inspiration). I wear lolita for myself because I love it and don't concern myself so much with others.
Yes to all of them. Lolita is kind of a collecting hobby for me, and I'm quite competitive when it comes to things like that. I'm trying to be more confident and not care so much, but it's a process. I'm staying away from most online comms to focus more on my own wardrobe.

Can love really bloom on the convention floor?
If you're both interested in cosplay then I think it's a fun way to bond as a couple. You just have to figure out how to split the work up on the cosplay so that one of you isn't overwhelmed while the other sits back and does nothing.
But overall it's pretty fun. I taught my SO how to sew and make props and now we have a bunch of cosplays we're going to work on together.
My past partner and I pretty much only had cosplay in common. Not a reciepe for success, I'm telling you.
Current GF and I met at a con and we've cosplayed together a few times and I love it. OPs pic is kind of goals if we stay together during the year; Morticia is gorgeous and she'd be super hot as her. I'm not so sure about me and moustaches, though, lmao.
Since someone brought it up in the Akiba Expo thread... does anyone actually know what state Newcon is in right now?
Last I heard all the staff had jumped ship once they found out the con head was either a crook or maybe just incompetent? The website seems like it is still going to happen but if there's no staff what should those of us who pre-registered expect?
Hi, everyone! I'll be frank; I'd really like to start up a lifestyle blog or Youtube channel. I think deep down a lot of us would like to have someplace that we can share our outfit collections or merch. However I'm not really sure where to start.
Let's have a discussion about kawaii bloggers and Youtubers! I'd like to use kawaii as an umbrella term, so anything /cgl/ related really. What do you look for when you subscribe to blogger? What do you find entertaining? Who are your favorite bloggers and Youtubers?
*hugs* finally an anon who gets me. I'm totally there with you but I find it difficult to really get motivated. You need to be constantly finding and thinking of new things, buying new crap and of course have a kawaii blogger room.
> no money for that shit.
