I live on a corner lot with a large fenced in front yard and no back yard. So naturally my dog spends his outdoor time in the front yard, where there is constant walking traffic right in front of my house.
The dog will follow the pedestrians all the way around the fence barking and screeching at them like he's being tortured
How do I keep this fucker quiet when people walk by? He's a little poodle mix
Have him put down.

This or shock collar. I've also heard that filling a tin can with rocks or marbles and shaking it near the dog works as a deterrent, just do that every time and it will associate it's bad behavior with terrible noises.
>>2242574
>shock collar
you guys advocate those around here? I thought they were a cardinal sin with animal loving folk
Can someone explain this to me?

Blue is a shit brand, they spend tons of money on marketing to people who are into the natural/holistic movement. Dogs are literally wolves right?
I'd be surprised if they had any veterinary nutritionists on staff.

There is a difference between chicken meal and chicken by product meal.

What is cute?

Moths. Moths are cute
well guys, today is my Bday, but ive been running all day with my doggy, she just had an injury and her leg bone is out of place, the tissue that glues both bones is no longer doing it work so the bone no longer stays on its place.
i was given 2 options, short versions are
1) put a nail to put the bone on its place
2)the other option, they cut a piece of the head of the bone, and let it grows new bone and new tissue so it can be joined more naturally
btw, the second option its like 1/3 of the first one's price
have you guys heard of thst procedure? the doggo walks normally after that?
doggo's picture for interests
Today ill order pizza and go netflix marathon while little doggo stays on my bed next to me... she will even get to eat the pizza's borders that she loves :D
she was really scared yestarday and even trembling, but now she feels better and has a better mood, seems happier, even that she cant use that leg (its on bandages until we decide on the surgery and get the money)
I think chow chows look beautiful and I would like to have one, but I keep coming across horror stories about them. Have you ever had one? Talk to me about chows.
>>2240787
i'm guessing the most horrific thing about them is their large amount of fur and skin
>>2240787
Yeah I had one bitch, and her first heat wouldn't start although she was almost a year old. Then when it started at last other bitches in the park got angry for some reason, they were barking at her and she was very scared and then the leaves and the branches on the ground just began moving and the park lamps started flickering and turned off. Things like that happened whenever she got nervous or scared. Fucking scary shit.
You talking about their aggression issues? One of my in-laws has a mix and he straight up eats cats and other small animals alive. Great with kids, strangers, anyone who will pet him, just eats smaller creatures and they can't get him to stop.
Do you let any of your pets free roam around the house (excluding cats and dogs)?
I would like to let my rats free roam but they're so small I don't want to lose them. They get about 2-3 hours a day out in my bedroom.
I let my Chinese Water Dragon (4yo) free roam in a bedroom. At that point he's big enough not to get lost. I leave the door closed but his cage open in case he wants his heat bulb or water.

Nope. I have geckos though so if i take my eye off them one for second they will immediately jam themselves in to some tiny corner and refuse to come back out.
Either that or, in the case of he arboreals with their magic grippy toes, straight up the wall and on to the ceiling.
So house rules is if they want to come out they can climb on me but any flying leaps off of me to parts unknown are not allowed.

I don't think mustangs are wild horses yet. They're still feral, even if they have mild differences from captive horses. In maybe a few more centuries they will be considered wild.

>Hooves are like diamonds (not the best comparison but stick with me). Really hard and tough. Things are gonna have a hard time scratching them and wearing it down . But, if you put to much weight on them they'll fracture and break very easily.
..No. Whether a horse needs to be shod depends more on the surface it's worked on than the weight it's carrying. A ranch horse that does fine barefoot on grassland while carrying a 200 pound rider might start getting split/cracked hooves when carrying a 100 pound rider on roads. Carrying/pulling extra weight certainly contributes to wear, but not nearly as much as working horses on hard surfaces, the effects of breeding for size/strength/whatever over hoof strength (the mentioned example of TBs is a great one), excessive grains in their diet, or the fact that domesticated horses are often stabled or kept in limited grazing, which means less steady conditioning on dry grassland and more exposure to damp or muddy conditions that cause weakening of the hoof wall.
I also don't think many people who have ever trimmed a hoof would make the comparison to diamonds in texture, you can't usually carve down a diamond with a knife and some nippers. Hooves are hard, but they're not glassy/brittle, they're well-evolved to function as shock absorbers.
>I have no experience with horses
>but I have Google so let me tell you why everything you do with your horses is cruel and wrong
Why are people like this allowed to exist?
I'm looking to for a paratrechina longicornis queen for my formicarium. Does anyone know where to buy one of these? I've looked on many sites but they are out of stock in most places.
>>2246560
>The worker longhorn crazy ant is about 2.3 to 3 mm (0.09 to 0.12 in) long
Wew lad, why not just get a Pheidole spec.?
Anyway I think you gotta wait till somebody has them in stock again or go out looking for a queen yourself.
Are you in the US or Europe?
>>2246563
I live in Finland so there is no chance of finding one in the wild as they cannot survive there as its too cold during winter.
I want a crazy ant because they can have multiple queens in the same colony
>>2246567
Also the way the paratrechina longicornis reproduces with itself without inbreeding is another reason. Just one queen is enough to get many more from the same colony.
Hey guys, I know it's hard to tell through pictures alone, but can anyone tell me roughly how old this lil guy might be? He's just under 50 lbs and is a pit bull terrier mix. I have pictures of his teeth which I'm hoping helps.
help meeeee
My male beta fish Kyoto is looking a little funny. ive never owned a beta before, im wondering if this clear spot on his tail is normal??
The first time I ever saw a "freshwater" moray eel, I could swear it was an Echidna nebulosa because I clearly remember thinking "How the hell are they keeping E. nebulosa in freshwater?", but now I can't find anything about them being kept in freshwater and the ones I see are clearly different species. Could I be confusing memories?
>>2246354
no true freshwater morays except Gymnothorax polyuranodon (most likely)
every other "freshwater" species needs brackish or full on marine
>>2246354
>>2246362
What he said, also Gymnothorax tile. I guess the snowflake sort of resembles the fw ones, but that's a lot of squinting to see the resemblance
>>2246362
>>2246363
Well I know that part. But I could swear I saw at two different stores E. nebulosa kept in freshwater and that that was the species I first saw kept in this way. That's why I posted this, because I'm trying to figure out why I remember this when I can't find any evidence for it. I mean it's a very specific memory about thinking this is insane that you can keep E. nebulosa in freshwater.
Please help. What are the breeds of cats that have big, fat, flat baby faces like picrelated? Also, share pics with them.
>>2246199
Exotic shorthair. They're ugly.
>>2246211
This, also persian

Thank you.
I am single and live on my own in my house, and I plan to adopt a cat soon. I want one that is comfortable without access to very many rooms(two rooms) and is not destructive(chewing on things or scratching things) and is affectionate(sleeps with me, sits on my desk or on my lap)
Any recommendations of what kind of cat I should adopt?
An adult or elderly cat, not a kitten.
>>2246094
I had this in mind, yes.
It is better to rescue an adult cat that might not get a home. Kittens are in high demand, cats are not.
But what kind?
>>2246095
Not a "smart" cat, mean as that sounds. I had a Siamese mix girl, and she was super smart, but she snuck outside once and ever since then, she completely knocked me off my feet trying to get out again. She was destructive and never wanted to cuddle. The best bet for a cat, always, would be a standard shorthair cat from a shelter you trust to be honest about the cat's personality. Maybe a cat in a foster home, and one who is established to not like other cats so that they are not lonely.
Let's have an identification thread, shall we? Remember to include location! Needy OP will start.
>southern Wisconsin
>October, so possibly migratory
Anyone know what mystery bird is? This is the best pic I could get before they flew off.
>>2246007
Phytolacca americana, or pokeweed.
>>2246007
Looks like a waxwing
Looking to get an ID on this shrub.
Location: New Zealand, lower North Island
Date: April (so autumn for us)
I'm mostly concerned about the berries on it, as one of my dogs was very interested in them and I had to stop him eating them several times.
/an/
I'm planning to adopt two cats. Aged 5/6, neutered male buddies, front declawed, from owners who don't have the time any more.
I'm really darn excited, but I never have had a declawed cat before. What kind of litter box should I get them? And what are your cats' favorite things to play with/on-- is a cat tree worth it?
>>2246005
Why?
>>2246005
get a box for each, low rim. clump litter is good enough.
milk rings, rubber bands, nuts
cat may care less about a tree, may love it. your call
>declawed
>"don't have time anymore" for fucking cats
cat owners confirmed for shit
