What's out there, breed wise, in terms of large sized working dogs that haven't been ruined due to poor breeding practices?

Aren't they the apex predators of the entire world? No other animal can beat them and they're considered the most dangerous creature. They're even more alpha than hippos, gorillas, tigers and sharks.

Most of that is because of el nino. It'll be back and the reef sure as fuck isn't dead.

It is facing a lot of problems though.

Well shit. Hope they have enough high temperature algae in the water to fix this.

Hey /an/
Just wondering if you guys know of any good home remedies for a yeast infection. My dog spent a lot of time swimming lately and I kinda fucked up by not drying them thoroughly. He's had one before and I just got drops from the vet, but I'm hoping to try some other methods before spending $200 on this.

Thanks guys

buy some zymox off amazon, it's not that expensive and is really good apparently.

I also make a cleaning solution of alcohol free witch hazel, iodine, and boric acid.
>>
>>2241439
Yeah I saw lots of people on other forums mentioning Zymox. Too bad it's not available at petsmart so I could get it instantly.
Thanks for the other suggestion too, anon
>>
Where is the yeast infection? On his skin? If so get a come for his head and rub sugar free yogurt on him. Or look for a good dog food with probiotics in it and switch over slowly. Or mix a small amount of coconut oil (which is safe for dogs to eat) in his regular good. All these things help kill yeast.

DO NOT put on or give the dog anything in the onion family_especially garlic. Intact you should probably just look up dangerous 'human' foods for dogs so you know what to avoid.

Just bought a Ball Python for my first snake pet. Kinda noobed it up and there isn't enough heat, it sits at about 75f due to a small red reptile heating lamp. The poor little homie is pretty stressed as is, the heating pad isnt that effective I need a bigger one, will head to the store tomorrow.

Tl:DR Not enough heat, what do till stores open.

Give him something warm like a hot water bottle or something at the right temp? I don't know, I dont have a snake.
>>
As long as it is 75 you're fine until tomorrow. It'd only be an issue if it was actually getting cold
>>
>>2241381
Balls are stupid and will burn themselves on anything.
Be sure the heat lamp is far enough away and the new heat pad doesn't cause any hot spots.
Check often.

Newbie gardener here.

Last night I checked in on it and its seed leaves were turning a little brown. This morning I woke up and they had dropped off. I knew this was unusual but I figured it probably wasn't that bad. Went to uni/work, came back and now it looks like this. I'm afraid my plant is dying and I don't know why.

I live in Baton Rouge so it's getting a little cool at night but it's not that cold. I water it a little every morning so I don't think it's getting too little/too much water. Is it a fungus? Is it a deficiency? Or am I just bad at raising plants?

What kind of medium are you growing in?

I'm partial to soil-free organic mixes.

I know I might be shunned for this, but I'm using some premade Miracle Gro potting mix my roommate had in her shed. I would have gone out and bought my own peat moss/pearlite/compost but I'm a little strapped for cash and she wasn't using it.

Need a bit of help...My well meaning dad bought me a juvenile Giant Day gecko from a reptile expo for my birthday. The thing is, I have absolutely no idea how to care for these guys. I own two crested geckos and a bunch of other reptiles but have never really owned anything tropical. I need some tips and pointers on how to make this guy happy. He is really cute and I'd like to keep him but I want to make sure that he is healthy and happy and that I'm not messing up.

there's no real difference between them and cresties beside UVB light, and more bugs that you dust with calcium.

oh and temperature, but you can just attach a simple heat mat to their enclosure.

I just started wondering, can dogs sense if you're sad if you adopted them as an adult and have only had them for 5 months? Or would they simply not care about you yet?
24 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
they would definitely sense it. whether they cared or not would depend on the dogs' personalities and how you've been treating them.
>>
dogs have no concept is human emotion.
>>
>>2240984
dogs only seem to share human emotions because they are dependent on humans to survive.

the dog does not care if you are sad. the dog cares that you might not be able to provide for it properly if something is wrong with you

This is an interesting read, so I thought I'd share. I know a lot of people are interested in what a wolf is like in a domestic setting. This guy adopted a dog and didn't know its blood was mostly wolf. It talks about the difficulties in dealing with a wolf that you treat like a dog.

Probably the only time cesar milan tactics would work
>>
>>2241087
Yes because the wolf would kill Cesar and we'd finally be free of that shitbag.
>>
>>2240934
I've known two people with wolves now. Both were chill as fuck.

I honestly don't think it's as hard as people make it out to be, and the only reason they do is because they want to feel special and important for being able to "tame" a "wild" animal.
