Is this what gourami fighting looks like? I can't tell if they're getting along or not. Most of the time they're super chill and just swim with each other, no flairing, no touching. But the bloodworm feast seems to have sparked something. Even the guppies were particularly savage.

I don't mind other people's cats, I just don't want one. I agree with you OP there seems to be some disdain towards them. While I'm sure there are several people who don't like outside cats for the reasons you mentioned, I think there are only a couple of people that shitpost about indoor cats. Most of these people are probably doing it for attention anyway.

What you are basically asking is why do people not exercise and stimulate their dogs, and let them get overweight.
It's been my experience that people with toy breeds, smaller mixes, and pretty much any other kind of dog are just as guilty of this as well.
To answer your question it is because of either laziness, ignorance, irresponsibility, or any combination of the three.

They're very protective and can be aloof to strangers. Like most breeds proper socialization with people and dogs alike is very important. They are as intelligent as they are stubborn, so be consistent with your training.

This issue was exaggerated after the population boom from the Disney movies. They are a white purebred dog so the risk of deafness is just as prevalent as it 8s with other breeds. They also have issues with kidney stones. Do your research and buy from a reputable breeder. BAER tests for hearing, and ULA dogs are available for the kidney stone issues. Males tend to be affected by this more than females, and a low protein diet also helps.
I wouldn't recommend the breed to anyone who isn't willing to.spend the time and put in the work. However they can be a very rewarding dog, I am completely happy with mine. Check around your area for local Dalmatian clubs and get some hands on experience. Talk to owners, do your research and above all avoid BYB's these assholes are the reasons for most of the negative stereotypes associated with the breed. Everybody knows someone who had a dalmatian that did this or that and the vast majority of these dogs came from people churning out subpar dogs in an effort to.make money when every kid wanted one because of 101 Dalmatians.
