Sounds wierd i dont think its that one
Long stock coat German Shepherd, black and tan. The dog in the pic is quite dark. Mine was dark like that until he was about two, and then he slowly lightened over the years.
Actually, though? This is the easiest dog ID we've had in a while.
My sub adult Tokay female :)
My sub adult male tokay :)
She looks young and healthy nice!!!!

He sure looks strong and confident
Hey /an/
I'm getting a new kitten in a few weeks and am finding a lot of conflicting info online about feeding your cat chicken/tuna/salmon etc (either raw or cooked). I bought some dry food (Taste of the Wild) but the vet recommends combining it with wet food to avoid UTIs. So I was thinking of feeding dry food in the morning and wet food at night, for example.
My question is: Would it be better for me to just feed my cat some chicken/fish rather than a can of wet food? Or would they be missing any vital nutrients this way? I'm just trying to do what is best for him and give him the best diet possible. If there's a sticky about this I'll read it - just couldn't find it anywhere.
What do you guys feed your cats?
Thanks!
I fed mine just high quality wet food. Rikki cat for treats, perfect bistro for main diet. He didn't eat that much so it only cost me about 40 bucks a month.
They definitely need the wet food and preferably in the morning and night, if not for their main diet. Getting them used to eating a few different flavours will also save you a lot of frustration if you end up having to switch brands. Switching protein sources once in a while is also good.

Dry food is not great for cats! You should think about feeding canned food for all of his meals. Here's a great resource: http://www.catinfo.org/
What food you feed them really depends on what your budget is. Personally I feed the cheapest grain free thing I can find, preferably with no fish. I feed a large variety of foods since the companies aren't as reliable and I worry about brand recalls.
I feed Paws and Claws, 4Health, Wellness (in the big can), Soulistic (from Petco), and Fancy Feast Classics. I have two kittens and they eat a ton of food.
Anyone know what to do with with these things? Our house backs up to some woodlands and they just keep coming.
I want the fuckers dead. What are all the murderous methods that these hippy eco-friendly animal-hugging websites won't tell me?
I have a Wire Tek 1001 EasySet Mole Eliminator Trap but have never caught a single thing with it (after following the directions carefully). At this point there is a 10' x 5' patch of soft dirt on the side of my house that I can't even locate tunnels in. The entire patch is like quicksand.
I really don't want to lay out castor oil and shuffle them from place to place, especially to my neighbor's yards because that's a dick move. I have 3 spots in my yard infested as is. They need to die and never come back so I can deal with the next generation when it inevitably comes.
You get a shotgun, aim it at your head and pull the trigger, the loud sound will scare them away.
>>2249223
Get rid of their food source. Any commercial grade grub killer will work.
>>2249227
You're partly right. I've used a shotgun before, but you have to wait until you see the mole hill move, then shoot it instead of yourself.
Guys how do i convince my parents to buy me a dog? I really want a German shepherd but they dont want a dog in our house. What do ?

Hey, an, I have a problem...
On my block, there is this old man that leaves cat food out. Since he's started this he has attracted hordes of cats, kittens, and other critters.
Now, he's a genuinely nice person, so I wouldn't want him to get in trouble or suffer emotionally but the cats need to go.
Is there any non-malicious way to get rid of them?
>>2248606
Leave cat food out but put antifreeze in it. Or if you don't want to kill them (I don't see why not) get traps and then relocate them.
just toss some tylenol in it.
Tell him to stop since they are bothering his neighborhood? As long as you aren't a dick about it, he won't "suffer emotionally".
Cats&co also won't stop coming as long as he puts food out, even if you poison them or put a guard dog.
I would really like to have a little hedgehog as a friend, but also I dont want to be an asshole which enriches animal shops (they're a bad thing, aren't they). What do I do?
>>2248496
Find a wild female hedgehog, follow her to find her lair, kill her and take one of the baby hedgehogs home.

Buy from a registered breeder.

Is it really true that when they ended up as strays in the streets of Istanbul that they couldn't fend for themselves because they couldn't assert themselves among all of the mutts that were their competition for food? Why are golden retrievers such pussies?
Well aren't they bred to retrieve, not necessarily to hunt?
>>2248270
>stay dogs in the streets of Istanbul
>hunting
>>2248273
OK - aren't they bred to retrieve and be rewarded, not to find food on their own?
It would be a pretty shit retriever if it just ate the ducks.
I don't know shit about mushrooms. What is it and can I eat it?
Impossible to say by pic alone. Not a distinctively edible one that I can tell (USA).
Odds are it won't kill you but will taste bad or make you sick. But no guarantees either way.
>>2248257
>hey guys look at me I was wondering around and saw some bums downtown
>I also saw a mushroom growing nearby in a tunnel that smelled like hobo poop
>can I eat it?
Are you fucking starving? Are you trying to figure out how to survive as a homeless person? Are you hoping that it's a psilocybin mushroom?
Why do you want to eat some random fucking mushroom on the ground?
>>2248260
Not OP, but there are some damn tasty mushrooms that you can't get in supermarkets and stuff. So if you run across one that's not old then it's worth to grab it or cut it off tree.
None of them look like generic white or brown mushrooms though. Some of those are edible sure...but not really worth it.
Indoor cats > Dogs > Outdoor cats > Pitbull
We can all agree on this right?

Not for sure, need a better image. Could you scan it please?
yes maybe. a good scan would confirm

That's a rattle snake by the looks of it
This is my mastiff puppy. He's 6 most ths old and he barks at pigeons, once jumped out of a car window, eats like a madman despite being fed the right amount, and in general, he's really fucking stupid. Also, nearly every time he greets my girlfriend at the door, he pees. He doesn't even realize it. We can't discipline him at all becuase he's too idiotic to understand discipline of any kind.
He's pretty cute tho, thoughts?
>>2248061
Looks like a saggy weimaraner. 10/10
>>2248063
Actually that's pretty accurate
>>2248061
All puppers are idiotic at that age, just be consistent even if it seems like it isn't working, they can change from week to week
Post more pictures of him because qt.
Am normally a big arachnophobe (grew up with a backyard infested with golden orb weavers, the creepiest fucking spider imaginable), yet I find jumping spiders adorable. How do they act in real life? I've heard they're very docile and curious.
>>2247967
They're the cats of the arachnid world.
>>2247967
they're pretty relaxed. try to get close to take pictures and you will find out that the jumping part of jumping spider is truth.
They're pretty funny. They tend to 'square off' more than other spiders, in my experience. You can poke near them and they'll raise up their front legs and act all tough, while trying to sneak away.
So... should I have killed it with fire?
>>2247921
W-what even the fuck is that?!

>(harmless) eating another...
What does /an/ think of Pleistocene Park? If you don't know, A few scientists came with an idea that the Megafauna in boreal, subarctic and arctic climates were able to control the climate itself. That the wildlife were allowing grasslands and steppe habitats to thrive instead of Taiga and Forests, keeping permafrost packed underground so it wouldn't thaw. Just like in the Sahara, the animals had similar niches to control what grows, and what didn't. But after the extinction of most megafauna in these regions, the permafrost has been able to melt, and create access methane and CO2. So these scientists have made a place in Russia called Pleistocene Park where they've slowly re-introduced animals that used to be there or close relatives. And with the little plot of land they've used, have shown major changes in the local temperature. One goal the park eventually wants to achieve is a sustainable mammoth population, courtesy of programs like the Long Now Foundation. Experiments might seem outlandish, however, similarly extreme results were found after the small re-introductions of the Gray Wolf in Yellowstone National Park.

Also, there's a few articles on Pleistocene Park as well.

Aren't they semiaquatic or some shit? Wouldn't they freeze to death there?

They have a pretty arctic range as is.
