Hello /an/. Around this time last year, I posted about a pupper we had found abandoned in a grocery store dumpster. He is still with us, and this is what he looks like now.

I'd like to know if anybody has ideas as to what kind of breeds he has in him. Here's some information:
>he is very small, only a bit bigger than our Maltese, but significantly heavier
>he howls and bays
>he destroys everything that touches the ground, especially plush toys and food wrappers
>when he wants to cuddle, he will forcefully press his entire body against yours
>he is very possessive over his toy bones
>he can jump almost two feet into the air despite his size

Please help with our mystery doggo

Why I never go to the vet anymore. I think he will outgrow it once he has established his territory. Did he do this where you lived prior?
>>
>>2296102
yes, it started when the neighbor cats would pee on our door
>>
Clean where the other cat is pissing. Clean all of the piss up really good.

Getting the neighbor cat to GTFO is paramount. Is there a way you can prevent the neighbors cat from pissing on the outside of your house? Bc your cat feels threatened and pissing is he's way of marking his territory. How long has he been doing this?

Do you take a first aid kit with you when you walk your dog? I just got pic related ordered, skin stapler and clotting agent included for our Sunday morning hikes which are a 4hr round trip and I would struggle to carry him all the way back to the vehicle if something did happen. My main concern is other dogs and seals. Had a dog spot us from miles away and it ran all the way up to us and started trying to bite my pups testicles.

I want a chicken as a pet, just 1, how would i go about taking care of it? And could i keep it indoors or should i get a hutch, i want to keep it indoors but i don't know. Also, i would like to have it sit in my lap while i work, is there any chance of it staying still? And can i pet it? Oh and how much will this cost?

it will probs get lonely.
keeping chickens inside is the worst idea ever, the smell and hygiene. dont get a hatch, build one out of pvc and chicken wire. chickens might stay on your lap but i think they lack a sphincter so they'll just go whenever. a chicken costs $5, the food $20 a month, the coup is $60. all of this will give you minimum set up but they roam and arent the best pet.

ideally a pen should cost more, they should have free roam of a yard and good food encompasses fresh greens and bugs to.

just get a rat or something though it sounds like you want a cat

chickens are social animals, OP. Don't make the same mistake i did.
>buy hen
>keep her in my garage. so cute
>feed her corn and let her run around the yard eating bugs in the warm weather
>slowly, she seems less happy, more sluggish
>one fateful day, go into the garage
>she's dead.
>she left a note, but i can't read her handwriting...it's chicken scratch

They're good outdoors animals, bad indoors. They'll shit everywhere, and sometimes it can be some pretty nasty wet shit.

I don't know if you guys are aware of this, but not too long ago these scientists successfully made it to where a chicken embryo grew a dinosaur snout. I believe it includes teeth as well. According to the article, they could have let it hatch, and would apparently have done well surviving. But they chose not to let it hatch because of "ethical reasons". These scientists were so afraid of political correctness, that they didn't hatch what would end up being a remarkable scientific achievement. All because some religious loonies think it's unethical because "muh u're playing with Gawd". Now, I know this might sound silly and naïve, and I know many of you have no idea, but my question to you guys is, how much would it cost to get the materials necessary to do it yourself. I hate the fact that they didn't let a motherfucking dinosaur hatch. It would have been extremely awesome, despite it only being a modified chicken. If any of you guys live near DFW, and know what y'all are doing, maybe we can make something happen!

They didn't have teeth. When I read this years ago(I want to say 2009) I remember them saying they had to destroy them for ethical reasons but now when I look it up their reasoning is because they didn't survive long enough to hatch.
I think they would have hatched them if they could.

How do you feel about cats taking prozac?
My stepmother puts her cats on prozac, one because he has went through chemotherapy and supposedly was never the same. he pisses on a couch when she leaves
the other is afraid of his tail, though I think its just him being a goofy cat
she works a lot and doesn't spend as much time with them as I think a cat owner really should.
I feel like these cats do not need medicine, they just need to be played with and loved
she takes very good care of them outside of the things I mentioned.
What are your thoughts /an/?
10 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
It is justified in some cases.
>>
>>2295695
can you elaborate?
I've had awful experiences on Prozac and other SSRIs and if these kitties are feeling anything I felt I feel terrible for them, cat is not for mind numbing medication
>>
>medication is bad
Like humans, animals can have psychological issues. Also like humans, just because some medication doesn't work for you doesn't mean they're all bad or it won't work wonders for someone else. I'm not on anything but I've had some truly awful experiences before I did get something that helped. I also think could be harder to treat animals for psych issues because we are self aware and can understand when and why we are just being 'crazy'.

I don't think pissing on the couch warrants for medication though and I think alternatives should be tried first.

Here is my new pupper

Has anyone ever owned one of these guys? Are italian greyhounds the true patrician breed?
8 posts and 1 images submitted.

As puppies they can be spazzy and piss everywhere since their bladders are teeny tiny. Moreso than other breeds. Not patrician. Annoying tho.
>>
They're actually pretty good dogs if you put the time in from a puppy.
If you give them 2-3 good runs a week they'll be happy couch doggos the rest of the time.

The ones I have known are super sweet. Little dogs like this can be hard to potty train tho and even years later might sneak off to pee in the house if they think they can get away with it.

Hey /an/, /g/entooman here, and I have a question. I saw a video where where hunters use eagles to take down pray including wolves. I've also seen them take down small deer and other animes you'd think can do a lot of damage to a bird and I wonder how that is possible. What tools does an eagle have to allow them to kill powerful prey the way they do? You would think the trashing of a muscular deer is something that could easily damage a bird yet eagles dispatch their prey with surprising quickness. How do they do this? What am I missing?
11 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>2295537
Their feet are incredibly strong, and they wear their prey down by their lung piercing grip as they tear their throats open with sharp beaks.
There is little harm a deer and fox can do with those talons digging in their neck, the eagle a safe distance away from teeth or hooves.

Hey /an/, I know this isn't WebMD for animals, but I can't find any results on Google that help me out here.

Earlier in the week these dark spots showed up on my cat's anus. They don't seem to bother her, but they seem to be getting slightly larger as time goes by. They protrude outward slightly and look like scabs. I've tried to Google up what it may be, and the closest I've been able to figure out is that it may be something up with her anal glands, but I can't find any images that look like this and there is no odor involved.

Can anyone throw me a bone on what might be the cause? I'd appreciate it.

Try putting your dick in it.
>>
Definite anal gland inflammation. Take him to the vet. Does he show a lot of pain when pooping? Kinda hangs out in the litter box and then paces a bit? Do you feed him dry food? They look like they may be impacted. You can empty them yourself at home, but I would definitely take him to a vet first because you don't want to hurt him if they're stopped up.
I'm addicted to these videos, by the way. They're better than zit popping videos.

Thank you for the quick reply!

She does eat dry food, yes. She doesn't seem to show any more discomfort while using the bathroom than normal (she's always been a bit of a weirdo around her litter box) and the area around them doesn't look inflamed. She's never seemed to show that it was bothering her. Admittedly, however, I'm not keen on the signs to be watching out for. She's actually the first cat I've had.

I'd rather get a vet to help her if at all possible. I'm not confident in my ability on something like this and I want to make sure nothing goes wrong.

Photo included of her that's much more flattering.
