Why should we (humans) care about animals other than dogs and domesticated species?
I'm refering to the protection and intervention that humans do in regards to multiple species. Why do we feel like we have some kind of moral duty with them?
Evolution tell us that only the fittest will survive, an animal that can not survive by its own means it is simply destined to die, also if it can't adapt to the environment then others will, and those are the ones that will take over.
I know that in some cases humans are responsible for the death of some species, but that doesn't mean we HAVE TO protect the whole species, their duty is to survive, that is not our duty unless those animals bring some kind of benefit to us, but then again, the animals that really benefit us are far from going extint.
I'm not saying we should just go out and kill every animal we encounter, what i'm trying to say is that the whole animal protection movement is stupid and useless because:
1. It's not our responsibility, that's bullshit
2. It's how nature works, deal with it.

Because they're our back up plan. A functioning ecosystem is kind of a nice thing for some people to have when your farms run dry or burn down.
I never cared about what was native or original, let the pandas and polar bears die, let new species of trees grow over the old bamboo plains, melt the ice caps, kill the whales, but there must be some life aside from us, because if there isn't, we're fucked. It's our duty to ourselves to make sure our plan B doesn't end at canned beans and traditional japanese carpentry. What kind of a retarded species actively destroys the niche it's still spectatularly adapted to?

Would I need any kind of license or permits, or anything involving legalities, to build and sell DIY mouse/rodent cages?
I want to breed feeder/pet mice because I really enjoy the hobby, but since I'll probably only be having two, MAYBE three, litters with each female, I want to ensure them plenty of time to heal and raise their babies healthy, so inbetween breedings I was thinking of making and selling custom cages to go with the mice to their new homes. And since it seems like everything and it's mother needs some kind of license to do now a days, I was wondering if I would need any kind of license to do this?

Nope no license needed if you just want to sell the occasional cage on CL or something. If you want to make a business out of it, then it's tricky.
Would you please, please, pretty please do something similar to the Russian fox project by breeding the least social mice (feeders) together and then on the other spectrum breeding the most social mice (pets) with the other social mice? Given their fast reproduction, with a little work you can easily get very friendly mice given their relative intelligence. I've been wanting to do something like this but I won't be able to in the foreseeable future. Imagine having a line of pet mice that are naturally easy to handle and feeder mice that don't want anything to do with people.

You'd need a business license after reaching a certain amount of income. If you plant to ship your mice, or sell to a store you'll need an animal breeders license, if you are selling face to face you won't need one.

hey guys, i come to you as i have no idea where i could ask this.
i recently adopted a dog that was found on the streets, he was microchipped but the owner couldn't be reached/didn't wanna come for him, i dont exactly know. He is classified as a pitbull mix. it doesn't really matter what breed he is but the curiosity is there, as all dog owners know. He weighs 25,4 kg, would like to fatten him up like 2-3 kilos because he looks rather skinny atm. Floor to top of the back is around 50cm, i didn't measure floor to head. I was wondering if you could throw around a few ideas as to what he could be mixed with.
and yes, he has a sweater, it was -17 celsius here
