Hello /an/. Around this time last year, I posted about a pupper we had found abandoned in a grocery store dumpster. He is still with us, and this is what he looks like now.
I'd like to know if anybody has ideas as to what kind of breeds he has in him. Here's some information:
>he is very small, only a bit bigger than our Maltese, but significantly heavier
>he howls and bays
>he destroys everything that touches the ground, especially plush toys and food wrappers
>when he wants to cuddle, he will forcefully press his entire body against yours
>he is very possessive over his toy bones
>he can jump almost two feet into the air despite his size
Please help with our mystery doggo

Definitely looks like he's got some sort of beagle in him. He sounds pretty high energy, you might want to invest in some doggy exercise stuff to keep him occupied. Things like agility course shit, etc. You could also just take him for longer walks, but that's not as cool.
Worst comes to worst just build some ramps in your yard. Dogs like that do best when they have a "job", so do that too.

He sounds bored. Give him toys and treats he has to use his brain to figure out like the wobbling Kong thing. Either that or give him some kind of job like the other anon said. Beagles get very destructive when bored

do some in-depth research on the breeds and see if he displays any more traits that align with those breeds. he's likely not -just- a mix of those two, but mixed breed dogs don't exhibit all their ancestry in equal amounts.

one extremely durable toy i would recommend is the "tug-a-jug"
put his food in there, never a bowl
he must work for every kibble
also try water buffalo horns, delicious and durable and safe to chew

Thanks, I agree.
He's technically my younger sister's dog, but she's a teenager without a job and I love him too, so I'm going to try and invest in some toys for him to play with while she's in school. The tug-a-jug and tire swing sound like fun.
Also did some research on the suggested breeds, and he has EVERY characteristic of a Miniature Pinscher. I'm going to have to lecture my sister about being more active with her dog

Have owned two minpins with a friend owning a beagle, his behavior defintely seems like one we used to own.
