Are you plebs still using store-bought tanks to house your herps?

Closer
The only impressive thing about your terrarium is that you made it out of a piece of furniture meant for something else. Your glass appears dirty, I don't see any ventilation, and your set up is basic, cramped, and unattractive.
A cool idea but poorly executed. Not interior decorator enough. The antlers are pathetically strewn about. If you do something like this then make it custom furniture or at least a thrift store flip so you can make it decently sized. It would look better popping out that top shelf and untilizing all that wasted space above your tiny TV.
Any fellow rat owners out there? Rodent general.
thinking about getting rats again
this cage is for sale on leaf craigslist for $200
>Less than a month old - large and very clean comes with national geographic food bowl and large silent spinner wheel
3 levels
don't get how it's 3 levels but looks pretty nice anyway
should i lowball? or is it a good deal
My rat's brother died so now I have his lone brother, but he's already three years old. I'm not sure whether I should get him more buddies or just wait until he dies but I also don't know if I want more rats at this time. I'd find him a new home but he's on medication for a skin condition that's possibly contagious so I'd have to wait for when/if it clears up either way. I feel so bad for him even though he hangs out with me all the time.

Always offer lower but I don't think it's worth it. It's not three levels either unless they took out another shelf. You'll want to cover the wire bottoms too. I find that they're really easy to cover with linoleum. Easy to clean and not expensive.
Personally for $200 I'd just go with a ferret nation.
https://www.ferret.com/item/ferret-nation-habitat-model-182-double-unit/650431/
This is less than $200 and you get free shipping. It's much larger. It's a good deal for never used.
I lost one of my best friends yesterday after 14 years
any advice how to deal with it? I already miss her so much
Alcohol helps.
Sorry for you loss OP
I always had the chance to personally bury my pet, and it helped me handle the loss knowing I was helping them one last time
Keeping a picture around helps too, just so that when you think about them you have something to hold on to
>>2294751
I'm sorry to hear that, op.
My little guy passed two weeks ago, and from then until I was able to get his ashes back, I was a complete wreck. But a few days ago I was able to bring him home and even got an urn for him --a sleeping cat in a basket-- and having that by my bed, where he used to sleep, has helped me.
So my advice would be to find some semblance of normalcy. It won't be the same, but having a routine that you normally follow can, if nothing else, take your mind off it for at least a little while, and help you cope with the loss of your friend. With that, finding a way to honor your friend can help as well. Be it a funeral, an urn, or whatever it is you feel best with.
Above all, if you find that you need a moment at any point, take it. And don't let anyone tell you how you should feel about your pets passing.
Can we have a badger thread?

can you raise one from a baby and not have it rip your face off?

Maybe. Badgers are a lot smarter than a dog or cat.

Hey /an/, I'm a little new. Is this an okay place to talk about vulture culture? Or is this board for strictly living animals? I'm just asking because finding experienced vultures near me has been a pain, I'm a little new to the whole thing but have an okay-sized collection. Pic related is a crystallized doe skull I own that costed me a pretty penny, but it was worth it.
If it is okay, what are your favorite things to collect? Do you have any advice for someone who's new to the whole thing? If location helps, I'm in Arizona. I've got no idea where to start looking for stuff, how early, and all that. General vulture thread, discuss dead things!
I've been a vulture since before vulture culture was a named thing. Years and years ago, when I was a little kid, I'd go along the beach collecting the bones that washed up there, and seagull feathers (this is legal in my country.) Sometimes, when I was hiking on farms, I'd come across beautiful sheep skulls, but I also found sheep skulls in a couple of unlikely locations.
Sometimes I'd make necklaces out of bird skulls and the little vertebrae of fish and small mammals.
I haven't been really into it lately, but I've still got my entire collection packed away somewhere. I am, however, beginning to dabble in taxidermy.
I have no idea how to help you, though. I don't know squat about Arizona or the laws there/. If it's legal, you can look at picking up roadkill and cleaning it yourself.
>>2294580
>vulture culture
Is it about collecting bones specifically, or just dead, inert animal things? My dad had a couple animal skulls and a lot of taxidermy when I was a kid. I don't know where most of it is anymore.

Discuss anything aquarium related here, including inhabitants, decor and issues.
Google is your friend.
Feel free to ask questions but know that there are a lot of resources out there that could answer your question a lot faster and accurately than /an/.
Make sure to include these things in your post before asking because we can't help you if we don't have the full picture:
-tank size
-parameters
-any and all inhabitants + how long you've had them

Cute snek
Just wanted to thank all the anons that regularly contribute to this general. Its a mainstay for me and love it. Always comfy. Gunna dump some pics of muh tank in gratitude
Non-cratefags, how do you do it? How the fuck can you leave your dog alone for long periods of time and not come home to piss and shit everywhere or something nice ripped to shreds?
I was on my bed using my computer and thought it was okay to let my 7 month old puppy roam the basement, figuring he could be trusted enough.
After about an hour I go upstairs to get something to drink and it reeks of shit.
EVERY. FUCKING. TIME.
I can't leave him alone an hour, even with me in the house. How the fuck do people leave their pets alone for long periods of time. Without crating him I wouldn't be able to own a pet. I'd have given up a long time ago.
Potty train your dog op holy shit it's not that hard.
Take it out every 1-2 hours depending on age to do what it needs and continue doing that all day until it's bed time.
It'll get the idea and stop shitting in the house.
I've never raised from a puppy but I've also never crated. I adopted my current dog at 2, quickly potty trained him, and keep him properly stimulated when I am home with 2 walks a day and sporadic play time as well as leaving him with toys and the occasional rawhide when I'm gone. Properly stimulated dogs are good, happy dogs while bored, understimulated are destructive and unhappy.
Try more stimulating toys and games as well as more tiring outside time such as going on runs or long fetch sessions

I have literally been doing that from the very first day we ever brought him home at 8 weeks.
He still goes inside if I'm not watching him 100%

an is worst board
Hi /an/, I was about to put some clothes in the washing machine when I noticed pic related on them.
My cat sometimes sleeps on those clothes.
She was infested with fleas and worms as a kitten (she was born from a stray) and has been dewormed etc a few months ago.
I also have a dog, but she can't reach the clothes, so this is most definitely because of the cat.
I don't recognize these.
Flea eggs looked much smaller, round and white, while these are approximately 2mm long x 1mm wide and yellowish/brown in color.
The cat also doesn't seem to be scratching herself more than usual.
The worms she had previously were white and a bit longer than this, and would kinda look like thin, yellow rice grains once dry/dead. These are a bit different. Could it be another type of worm?
I haven't noticed anything strange in the cat's coat, it's also as shiny and soft as usual. She's behaving normally and I haven't changed her diet.
Location is Northern Italy if that matters.
Can you help me identify what kind of parasite this is?
(I'm taking the cat to the vet to have her spayed in the next days, but I'd like to know what this is in the meantime)
This may not be the case, but if you're leaving food out on the counters, they could be the larvae of nats. I had a case of these on my kitchen counter and they looked like dried/undercooked rice in my opinion. Didn't affect my dog or anything really. All I did to get rid of these was thoroughly wash and bleach the surfaces they were found on (be careful what surfaces you bleach), and they never reappeared. I'm not sure if this helps any, but I thought I'd give you a tip!

Thanks! It's freezing cold in here so I haven't seen any flying bug in a long while, but I'll keep an eye out for that.
bump just in case

They offer spirit visions in exchange for anal sex.
Sometimes they skip the visions.
tfw it's impossible to get US native crayfish species in Canada without ordering them from breeders in China who massively overprice them.
I really wanted these cambarus ludovicianus but I'm not paying 450 USD + 100 USD for shipping.
just go catch one
