I need new optics for my battle rifle, what dose /k/ recommend?
>>35096818
Drill and tap mount.
Get a rail welded on by a reputable company, or deal with a claw mount.
I'd just say get gud faggot and use the irons
>>35096861
I can git gud with or without irons, I just want sights with a nice and wide open sight picture that wont also fall apart while I use it like with pic related.

I thought small arms innovation was dead, but then worst Korea happened.
That said it looks like it would be a pain to carry around.

The Pentagon has confirmed that a new Russian nuclear delivery drone is real. The undersea drone, which carries an enormous nuclear warhead to destroy coastal cities and military bases, was tested late last month. The test was leaked by unnamed sources to The Washington Free Beacon.
Russia calls the system "Ocean Multipurpose System 'Status-6," and it is allegedly capable of traveling underwater to distances of to 6,200 miles. It can submerge to depths of 3,280 feet and travel at speeds of up to 56 knots.
The U.S. intelligence agencies estimate Status-6 will carry a multi-megaton thermonuclear bomb payload. For comparisons' sake the bomb dropped on Hiroshima was 16 kilotons, several orders of magnitude smaller. A one megaton bomb is the equivalent of 1,000 kilotons—one one million tons of TNT. Reports from Russia indicate the bomb could be as large as 100 megatons.

Nogunz here interested in an AK. Is the WASR or the Arsenal SLR 107R a better value if I want an entry level gun that I do not plan to mod whatsoever? Are the canted sights as big if a problem as they say in the current production? What would you say I should go with?
Save and get the arsenal and be done with it. You might not have the chance later on.
That being said wasr's are fine rifles, but too expensive for what they are.
You'd get more for your money with arsenal.
Arsenal if you can afford it.
If not WASRs are your best bet for no bullshit cheap AKs.
Atlantic even looks at WASRs to make sure they aren't fucked off so the whole canted sights thing shouldn't be a problem.
Most issues now are parts being made of potmetal and blowing with in peoples faces or companies again using inferior metal in stuff like the bolt causing it to wear prematurely or break.

I've heard he finish on the barrel bubbling and flaking is an issue. Have they fixed that?
I'm intrested in the Mossberg persuader, will I regret the purchase Also post all your tacticool guns
>>35096270
Hey OP if you bought a mossberg persuader would you regret it?
>>35096270 wants to know
>>35096274
I meant is it a shitty gun. But the sarcasm gave me a good laugh
>>35096270
you regret the 8 shot unless its your only gun. in which case its okay and you dont know any better.
Modern AR-15 muzzle brakes come quite close to eliminating the recoil completely, with a combination of the following factors completely eliminating recoil could well be possible
-lighter bullet weight
-more powder
-shorter barrel
-bigger brake
Has anyone tried making a setup like this? Have they succeeded in completely cancelling out the recoil?
This way of reducing recoil doesn't address the bolt swinging back and forth though so there still would be felt recoil of some way or the other but this could be addressed with a lighter weight bolt, using a bolt action gun, or just designing a gun with a system to cancel out the movement of the bolt like the in the case of the AK 107.
>>35096178
But most of these things (outside of the brake and adding powder) would hamstring the performance of the 5.56, so i dint anyone would really try
>>35097819
True, but since we are already able to eliminate 75% of the recoil without affecting the performance at all i'd think that another 25% shouldn't be too difficult.
>>35097962
Have you ever heard of marginal benefit and marginal cost?
OK here's the deal guise, i need eyepro that's good for high intensity physical activities (so, that it doesn't fog much) and also that interfaces well with most helmets. I'd be using it primarily for airsoft but also for shooting, but for that reason they must also be fuly enclosed, i'm not taking any chances. Price is not a concern, but if i pay a big price, i want to get my money's worth. I was prottey well set on the ESS profile turbofans but people scoffed at me at mere mention. Are they good? if they aren't, is it because of the fan only and the plain jane profiles should be fine? or should i forget about ess at all?
Just fucking look up YouTube videos nigger
is this the dreaded day /k/ that I keep hearing all about?
>>35096369
I already have you stupid cunt, and they are all a bunch of ESS shills, that's why I want your opinion
how would /k/ react if there was a real (01) city (aka Zero One) (and also /pol/ on its relativistic globalist politics and also /o/ for invention of true flying cars from robots and /his/ on the major Pyhhric war that was the machine war)
In case you havent watched The Animatrix, Zero One is a city that was created by Artificially Intelligent machines after a dindu robot killed its master in "self defence" from being deactivated. which led to the death of the owner of the robot and his pets and even a technician that was called in. which lead to be the first robot to be charged for murder which he was dubbed "the martyr of the machine race". several demostrations on both sides of the argument happened and eventually leading to the United Nations to deactivate and destroy all artificially intelligent machines. that lead to the result of the surviving robots of the so-called global machine holocaust to run to a empty area of Saudi Arabia to create the city of 01 (Zero One)
The robot nation pumped out resources and goods to the world that made "Made In China" motto look ridiculously expensive and shitty in quality. that lead to the UN allowing a mass nuclear bombarment of Zero One (mostly protected by EMP shielding) and thus the machine city declaring war on all of Humanity (you can guess what was the outcome of that)
if i was head of the UN, i would immediately just leave them the fuck alone. just do a trade embargo and MAYBE do a Military Alliance on certain conflicts
incase you want to have a general idea of what it is without looking into the animatrix, just watch this vid on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rOdOVJCqNc

>>35096140
>just do a trade embargo
>they manufacture 100% of electronic parts

also, animatrix was very unrealistic.
due to machines enormous economic and industrial power and their extremely reasonable demands, it would be natural just to accept their demands and start a profitable friendly relationship
This is the least aesthetic uniform and camp pattern I have seen a first world nation wear
What the fuck were they thinking?
>>35096088
Camp = camo
>>35096088
>aesthetic
They wanted the gays out the military who think aesthetics win wars
>>35096088
It was the superpower camo. Meant to look modern and imposing. Now the USA is losing it's superpower status to they had to go back to the good old basic camo.
What are the best options for putting a scope on a mosin, price/quality wise?
I don't want to put a rail on mine and the PU scopes I've been looking at have very mixed reviews all around
>>35096024
I looked into this a while ago and purchased the items needed, but I never got around to having it mounted.
The solution I chose was the "Brass Stacker" brand mount. But keep in mind that this means you will have to mount a long eye relief scope and run the weapon as a scout rifle. The scope mount itself is mounted on the rear sight mount. You punch out the pins then secure the mount using the screws it comes with, leaving the rear sights intact and still usable if you view them beneath the slightly raised scope mount.
Of course, the long eye relief thing may be a dealbreaker for you, but if I recall it's much simpler and cheaper to set up than the other options.
>>35096040
Are you referring to this? https://www.amazon.com/Brass-Stacker-Mosin-Nagant-Universal/dp/B00M1B9EVM Seems like a more expensive option than https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006GOK5FE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 given that it's just the mount

Is Merrill's Marauders dead for anyone else?
Did they really get rid of their Pacific and Eastern front servers for RS2?
How could they?
Would a 45-70 jack people up like this over say a 5.56? I somehow would think it would have the same lethality due to the fact that it will penetrate like a 5.56. I mean snipers that uses .50Cal go for range, not kinetic energy.
>>35095882
Thanks OP, was unsure about seeing this movie but I'm convinced it's worth my hard earned shekels now. My coworker who doesn't know shit about guns kept telling me about how the protagonist had a ".30-30" that "hit like a fuckin' 50 bro", he was under the impression the guy was handloading some extra hot homebrew I guess. Also 5.56 isn't meant to do what .45-70 was.
>>35095882

What is wrong with the US army that they are unable to beat poorly trained villagers, even though they have far superior weapons ?
