They've been using drones for a while now, including MQ-9s, but strictly for recon and target designation.
Six Reapers with Hellfires will be delivered by 2019, while the existing 6 will be upgraded by 2020, possibly with French/European ordinance.

Correction : arming*
No drones are being mistreated
>>35087429
>France is harming its drones
>>35087429
Just arming them all with Hellfires seems easier desu. I'm not really sure what Euro missile they could fire from it, aside from Brimstone which isn't done with integration yet. Also it's British, which may be an issue right now.
Can someone help me identify this bayonet? I thought it was for an enfield but it doesn't fit on any of my no 1 mk 3s im only out 25 dollars on it though
Looks like a brit bayonet by the locking side, but I cant tel with your fat ass hand in the way.
What you want to show is the markings you idiot.
>>35087258
Has no markings on it, blade and sheath are completely cleaned idk I'd by design or by fudd
Dear /k/,
I am interested in purchasing a "real" gun, but am overwhelmed by the options. By this, I mean a gun that has a the potential for relatively large magazine size, fires larger calibers, can fire relatively accurately over relatively long ranges, and is semi-automatic. A sort of JoaT.
What would your choice be? Why did you choose that over other available options? Also, what addons would you consider essential, besides optics?
Let's keep the price range, with reasonable level of addons (i.e., optics, strap) to between 500 and 1500.
For example, M1A vs. AK vs. AR?
How did you decide?
You want a battle rifle then. Your low ball will be a century cetme, mid-range will be PTR and the wise choice will be a cheap ar10 like dpms.
>relatively large magazine size
You can get 30rders and drums for AR10s. You can also get larger mags for FALs too, but that might be out of you price range.
>Also, what addons would you consider essential, besides optics?
Nothing desu. People meme about "rifle is fine", but if its just a range toy you dont even need a sling. If "relatively accurate" is what you're aiming for, just get an no-name airshit optic and dont stress.
>>35087238
AR for sheer aftermarket and inexpensive ammo and good price.
AK if you want to be unique/commie, but smaller aftermarket, less decent options and generally more expensive up front.
M1A isn't really comparable to the other two, get it if you like M1s/M14s aesthetic
What is the future of guns? The general principle hasn't changed in over a century. Will we be using laser or rail-based guns any time soon?
>>35087157
>laser
Fuck no. Physics don't allow it.
>magnetic propulsion
Extremely unlikely for small arms. Unless some insane breakthroughs are made in high temperatures superconductors and battery/capacitor technology.
Maybe caseless, but even then, brass cartridges have a lot of positives.
If it ain't broke.
>>35087735
Caseless is a dead stupid meme.
Hey lads, wanted to ask if anyone from the Commonwealth or who knows about these things can answer a question for me. I moved to Boston a year ago, and brought a couple handguns with me. Because I'm an idiot, I wasn't quick enough to get my firearms ownership license before the 60-day grace period was up. Now I want to get back on the right side of the law, but I also don't want to get charged with something for basically admitting I have illegal firearms by going and trying to get my license now.
Is my best bet at this point just to take advantage of the amnesty, hand my guns over to Johnny Law, and get new ones once I've got my shit in order? Do they try to retroactively prosecute this stuff?
>>35086854
Boston/Chelsea PD will try to take your guns no matter what
>>35086860
Actually in Waltham but yeah, close enough I'm worried.
>>35086854
Massachusetts is not in the commonwealth, or was that a joke? Or, do massfags actually say that?
As for what to do, turning your guns in via amnesty is the wrong way to do it. Keep them hidden, tell anyone who asks that you sold them via private purchase before moving, and once you get your license it doesnt matter
Remember, Massachusetts doesnt require firearm registration, so a gun is a gun is a gun.
I was in a similar boat, except instead of guns it was my ID. It was two years after moving before i changed it (the grace period was like 30 days, and i just wasnt getting mail to prove i moved), and no one batted an eye because i kept my mouth shut
Why dont other countries strap AA missiles to everything like the North Koreans? Is it an effective thing to do?
It seems like a very useful thing to do, helicopters and low altitude attacks will be btfo by tons of infrared missles, and high altitude attacks are much less accurate.
>>35086492
>those fucking fire extinguishers
>>35086497
Sort of makes you wonder how much of that rear tray is timber
Mind you, soon as they blow their load they have to skedaddle pretty quick to avoid counter battery fire, being on fire or not!
Because other countries can rely on air superiority. Its needless to strap a stinger to everything with wheels when every enemy air asset was destroyed on the ground days before a any friendly mechanized units entered the country.
So about a month ago I submitted a application to my local gun range, they had a help wanted sign outside so I just thought what the hell why not.
Fast forward to yesterday and I get a call to come in for a interview, it is for Monday next week. If I get the opportunity to get hired should I take it?
Also does anyone on /k/ work with firearm/sales for a living?
All those silhouette targets look like the shape of a guy who's just said:
>Well what are you gonna do; shoot me?
So you didn't find any other job in that 1 month period of time?
Do you understand range safety and have a variety of understanding the safe operations of common firearms?
Have you worked retail?
Congrats, you are now a Professional Gunstore Employee.
Enjoy.
My question is - will attaching a four prong flash hider and then a suppressor over that flash hider increase the decibel noise level by any degree vs having no flash hider there? Will it make it quieter? And again this is specifically for a four prong flash hider.
I doubt that since it seems like the flash hider would direct more of the gasses forward and concentrating them a bit.
The flash hider will let too much gas escape too quickly: totally ruining the point of the silencer. It would have the same effect as putting a silencer on a revolver.
>>35086062
I think he's talking about a flash hider that's compatible with QD suppressors i.e. attaching the suppressor over, not in front of, the flash hider.
You mean S I L E N C E R????
Hello /k/, I'm asking for your expertise today.
I recently found a pretty good looking katana, the seller assured me it was from WWII (the kind of model with a sturdy leather sheath and a safety pin)
I won't believe him when he says it's an original and not a chinese copy however the thing is looking pretty good.
Could you guys authentify it for me? Does anyone knows how much I could sell it for?
photos incoming

Hey /k/ i'm a battlefield archeologist but more of a /pol/ guy but i could need some help from you guys identifying ammo, weaponry and other items we have found the past 2 weeks
Finding weapons and ammo is not unusual in my job. Pretty much every MIA/KIA soldier we find is either around weapons and ammo or has some on him.
The location of these finds are on the western front where german WSS and US soldiers fought eachother in 1944.
I assume a lot of the ammo and weapons that are new to me are neither american nor german but were picked up by soldiers sometime during the war
>pic related is weapon #1
Looks like an anti tank rifle maybe russian?
>pic related has already been removed by the military explosives team but all they told me was that this is from the allied forces, it's too small for a bomb, anyone got an idea?

Anyone get anything good for labor day?
Debating buying a new shotgun, need trap gun suggestions.
>>35085904
Did you even get one reply last night?
What the fuck do you do that leads you here this late all the time?
My weekends fall on weekdays now so I don't have time for SPG on Friday's like I used to, its whatever.
Couldn't find a shotgun thread.
>>35085978
Fair enough, I know the feeling.
What kind of trap gun are you going for?
Over/under?
Fudd aesthetic?
>Vepr to annoy fudds?
Also, budget?
I fell for the "Pastas make beautiful guns" meme. Straight out of the box and it looks worse than a CZ-75.
Post times a gun company you like let you down in the finish department.

Should've bought an FS, A1, or one of the other 92 models that was made to be used by soldiers.
I wrestled with myself for a long time on which one to get. Finally settled on an M1A because of a) ammo availability b) magazine fed.
Now I'm wishing I had gotten the Garand instead. The M1A is nice but just feels like a modern facsimile of a historic rifle. I want to hold something that actually killed japs/nazis/gooks.
Anybody ever been in this situation?

There ya go, problem solved. No need to thank me.
>>35085461
ok but only if nazis are eating there too
wait, how would that work???

What does /K/ think of the trend of modifying M1A's? If you own/owned an M1A would you modify it into an EBR/EMR or put in in the Juggernaut Chassis?
>>35085419
Juggernaut Chassis
>>35085419
100% conformation of being a homosexual
EBR chassis because I've loved it since I saw it. It does weigh a fuck ton towards the front, or at least modern M39 do

What's with the extra layers of chainmail after the vambraces part? Isn't that a little too much unless you are in a tournament or some shit?
>>35085057
I'm not an expert, but maybe it helps reduce the chance of someone cleaving/puncturing your armor if they do a direct blow to that area. Could also help reduce pummeling from being hit with something like a war hammer or the pummel of a sword.
>>35085057
Helps protect an extremely vulnerable area, especially the are between the shoulder and gorget.
>>35085057
just for show, nobodies ever gotten killed wearing armor before
