It was the superpower camo. Meant to look modern and imposing. Now the USA is losing it's superpower status to they had to go back to the good old basic camo.

From my understanding they move from the old bdu camo to that to help recruiting purposes, "hey we are modern! Check out this DIGITAL camo!". I wanted them to go back to bdu or anything else when I was in.

I guess you haven't seen flecktarn then.

Rule of cool and "the marines cannot be cooler than us". It's honestly great in a very specific sort of environment but it's usefulness will drop off fast in other places.

UCP is god tier in southern Idaho but the moment you get out of that dry grass and sagebrush high desert you stand out like a sore thumb.

Marines do digicam right. My favorite is still Multicam and still pissed that the (((Army))) didn't just go with Multicam instead of making OCP

But for that matter, we don't need different field uniforms across all the services. Just have everyone do Multicam and be done with it. AF PJ/CC's use it instead of ABUs. And now I hear the Navy is doing a new uniform entirely to replace that blue camo thing. Why?
