Has anyone ever seen one of these OKP-7 (pic related) sights in the US? The general look of this thing is an odd kind of awesome. I wanna know more about it.

Post your go to optics.

Think some people in /akg/ have it
>>
>>35103745
They're not hard to find. They look cool but the glass and metal hook that holds it aren't as strong and sturdy as some would like. Hit it too hard and bend the hook and it's a paperweight. Same if you knock the glass out.

I'd buy a Kobra before I bought one of those.

But yeah check /akg/ if you want to know more. That's just what little I know of the optic is that they're not the sturdiest.

>>35103825
Do you know if they could even work on something that has a rail directly on the top of the rifle. It seems like it would hang off the right side of the rifle unless mounted off to the left like pic related.

"smart gun" debunked

>With $20 of hardware, Plore built a pair of radio "relay" devices that extend the range of the Armatix authentication watch, allowing someone who's not wearing the watch to fire the gun.

Plore built a transmitter that emits radio waves at roughly the same frequency as the gun, jamming its radio connection and preventing it from firing even if the shooter is wearing the watch.

>Gun rights advocates have long opposed smart guns, seeing them as a Trojan Horse to regulate traditional firearms. And Plore says his interest in smart-gun hacking originated with reading a vehemently anti-smart-gun thread on the gun forum Calguns.net in 2015. "Could you imagine what the guys at Defcon could do with this [piece of shit]?" one poster wrote wrote in response to a negative NRA review of the Armatix IP1.

Those uniforms are pretty aesthetic. Too bad the men in them were so underwhelming.

So how does one make shots on target at 1000 yards? Obviously you would need a scope but are what are other variables and how do you account for them without the use of modern electronic equipment (humidity, distance, wind, ect)?

It's a good idea to know your load and ballistic data. That way you can sight it in more easily (less shots) and predict drop a lot better. Ammo quality is going to be a lot more important, and in my opinion you're probably going to want very nice glass. I live in a dense forest and can't set up a shot longer than 225 yards, but even at that distance you can tell some things by the groups you're making. For instance, with cheap zqi .308 I was making tall, skinny groups, which tells me velocity was inconsistent but the bullets were good. Match grade ammo won't do that because speed will be consistent, which makes drop more consistent. Shooting up or down steep hills at long range will make you shoot high. Strangely, both reduce drop for reasons that are hard to explain. Reading the wind will become important. At 225 yards I've had to hold over a few feet for windage in a fast crosswind, but that was with a .204, and in spite of their speed those buggers can really drift. So consider a varmint reticle or similar that has the dashes calibrated to 10mph crosswinds.

Leupold and vortex are good for the money. You'll need a spotting scope also.

Practice, start close and move outwards. Learning to read wind and learning how temp/humidity affects your shooting takes experience.
I learned this the hard way, thinking I could jump straight from 300 yds on a calm day to shooting 600+ on a day with 15-20 mph wind gusts.

Because a sword is used to kill another person, which a gun does better, where as a knife or axe can be used for things other than combat.

He's right though

when a rifle explodes while someone is shooting it assuming they arent using the wrong/overpressure rounds or something fucking retarded, how bad are the injuries usually? I've really ever only seen videos where people are mostly uninjured but I would think half the time it just fucking kills the shooter
