Fast draw shooting uses wax bullets with primers only. They typically use smooth bore barrels made of aluminum, though.
Wax rounds through a normal rifled barrel will gum it up to hell.You can use rice if you don't want to bother with that.

Almost every polymer frame striker fired handgun on the market is a copy of the Glock design. There have been no significant advancements in the design from ANY company since the original G17. Let that sink in. The biggest change has been towards using pre-cocked strikers instead of Glock style trigger-cocked strikers to get a crisper trigger pull, which is what the VP9 and P320 did. That's also what made the P320 fail drop tests.

Also, the FBI Glocks fell apart because they had taken them apart and installed the slide lock tab thing backwards. All glocks will fall apart if you reassemble them with that part backwards.

Non permanent mounts are just going to be a shitty rail with set screws. If you want a solid mount, you will have to drill&tap, there really isn't any other reliable way to do it. Check these guys out, they make very good, solid repro mounts and optics.

What is the backup for? The way I see it, if your utility knife fails, you can still use your boot knife in a pinch, and if your boot knife fails then the backup is somewhat similar to the utility knife, so you might as well use the utility knife.
