How often should one change the routine?

I've been doing PPL for 5 months now and i see very little progress. Do i change just some exercises or the whole routine altogether?

I have shit-awful posture. Anterior pelvic tilt and forward head. It's gotten even worse in the past couple years and I'm only 25.

What can I do to fix my posture? Googling it only brings up fluff 'X ways to fix posture'.

I am 100% natty and I tried bulgarian with squats only. It gives me rapid gains for like two weeks, after that I hit plateau. I stopped bulgarian right after that. But according to Eric, if he hit a plateau he will do another exercise which is similar. I don't really know if it will work for long term gains but for short term it definitely works at least for me who's natty.

1. overhead tricep cable rope pull overs (with utmost focus on the full ROM of the negative) 2-3x week

2. preacher curls 3x a week just whenever they aren't sore.

deprioritize everything else daily based on this, just skip chest/back if it doesn't feel right and do neck/wrists/abs more.

Triceps can be done less often but should be done on or the day before biceps as biceps need the widest base possible to press against - which is why preacher curls are best - they squash your triceps flat.

If you don't have a cable machine just do dumbell french presses

What does /fit/ think about cold showers?
I've started taking them. I put the water at the minimum temperature the shower can use and then I go in.
The first seconds are horrible but I reach a point when I don't even feel the water in my body because it's too cold.

I heard it's good for the muscle recovery, but since I started taking them I feel extremely tired. Could it be because the cold water makes your muscles contract uncontrollably and therefore they are more tired?

It has more to do with the fact when you go to sleep your buddy temperature decreases, so its a natural response. That is why some people suggest taking hot showers 30 minutes before sleep so your body stars cooling down and you befome sleepy

I have a PT test coming up in October, push-ups and sit ups will be easy. How do I get to a sub 9:12 1.5 mile run? My previous time was 11:30 with about 1.5 months of training.

Keep running 1.5 miles every other day as fast as you cant. On your way back sprint for 100 to 200m, then jog, then sprint etc. Because thats a short distance in terms of running you could just run every day. But you have plenty of time. You should be able to get the time you want in 2-3 weeks.

You wouldn't develop your glutes and hammies as much, and your posterior chain would slowly get weaker.

I've also found that for me front squats tend to recruits a lot of lower abs while backsquat recruits a lot of obliques.

Also you wouldn't be able to lift as heavy with frontsquats so you'd miss on dem test boosts

OP, you'd become very good at front squats. Quads, glutes, upper back and abs will become stronk as fuck.

The downside to solely doing front squats is that you can't overload as easily and you might miss out on some heavier lifts - if that doesn't bother you, it's fine.

Personally I'd recommend you follow a 2:1 FSq/BSq ratio if you're keen on developing both lifts - however, there's no reason to do so unless you want to.
