it can be sort of a taboo thing, because 1. you're a guy so you have rougher skin by default. and you got male hands. and 2. some guys have callouses. this implies physical ability, such as what you do for work, or what your hobbies are. there is a bit of wonder because of having calloused hands.

my callouses peel up on their own every few weeks or months and i rip them off. i feel no hand-skin pain.

i don't see any disadvantage for having calloused hands, so long as you aren't making them bleed and shit. i see that like how newbies workout until they force themselves to vomit. but it's also important to maintain hydration and healthy skin care. this doesn't necessarily mean go out and buy lotions galore. i live in a desert, it's like 100+ out today, on rare occasion do i use lotion. and when i do it's a plain lotion with no added scents mixed with added water. too many people resort to product moisturizers and heavy soap use, when they could be drinking more water, and sweating more by choice. they become dependent on it for more reasons that physical and i see their lack of hydration manifest itself on a day to day basis as their performance becomes capped, and they choose to make moves based on how they physically feel and their attitude pertaining to the act of what they are doing itself.
