Why wasn't there a Zyuranger version of this for Japan even though it was made by Japanese developers? Most of the game wasn't even during the events of the movie and even the stages that were most of the movie tie in stuff were things that could've just had their sprites edited. In fact why are there hardly any Sentai games in general?
Yeah, it's weird. There are sentai video games in Japan though, not sure how good are they.
I had MMPR The Movie on SNES, seems like it was a different game than the Genesis version.
Best Power Rangers game is Fighting Edition, which Natsume later used as the basis to make Gundam Wing Endless Duel.

>There are sentai video games in Japan though, not sure how good are they.
Yeah but they are pretty few and far between each other meanwhile there were a bunch of Power Ranger games which seemed odd to me since Sentai is such an iconic franchise and it could make for a really easy double dip. Guess toy sales are just too good to really bother. That being said I did play the Carranger game a few years ago and it's pretty ok however it has a great soundtrack.

Sentai is for children too young to play games.
what /vr/ related clothing do you own? i just picked this beauty up a few days ago
Got this from King of Games years ago, I think these are completely sold out by now.
Some OoT shirts from back when the game was current. A shirt with MegaMan from the US cartoon. A Rampage Universal Tour shirt that came bundled with the game. Mario boxer shorts. A few Duke Nukem 3D shirts from when the game was current. A couple promotional shirts for Duke Nukem Forever - from before the final released version, formerly owned by Joe Siegler. A Capcom RE2 shirt from around when it was released. Also might still have a MewTwo shirt, but that would be much too small for me now.
I also think I have a few things from when I was a very little kid (I think I recall some Mario 3 underwear and maybe a SFII shirt), but my mom might've donated them.
I used to have shit tons of 90s pre-order shirts because our store never got that many pre-orders and the company didn't sell them after the game release.
Ex-girlfriend(s) - one in particular - stole them all from me.
best retro TBS game?
TBS = ?

Just started Crusader: No Remorse, got to level 2.
What do you guys think? Is No Regret a noticeable jump in quality? Were the controls always considered absurd, or was it just typical back then? Are there other games that carry its mantle, or were the ideas this series had pretty much outmoded by twin stick shooters?
I haven't played No Regret a ton, but it's basically the same game with new content, kind of like the difference between Doom and Doom 2.
Controls were more acceptable because they're not too bad once you learn them, which folks were more willing to do back then. And they actually make sense if you think about it.
Just put one hand on the arrow keys and the other around left shift/ctrl/s/space.
Most important controls are:
arrow keys to turn/aim and move forward/back
space to enter shoot mode and to shoot
s to select objects in the world, enter to search selected one (for loot)
i/o to change held item, u to use it
q/w to change held weapon
hold ctrl and press an arrow key to (left/right) roll left/right (forward) jump (back) toggle crouch
hold shift and press an arrow key to (left/right) aim/turn faster (forward) run
hold alt and press an arrow key to (left/right) sidestep
z to center the screen
f5 quicksaves
Most important thing to play effectively is: Don't be too reckless, play strategically. Roll to the sides a lot, specifically around corners to ambush enemies. Hold shift to quickly turn/aim. Use spiderbots to take out turrets etc (turn your character to control spiderbot movement).
That's it, not too hard. Quicksave often.
The way your character snaps to the sides if you walk/run into things might seem awkward at first but without it moving around would be really annoying. Also jumping never gets better but there's thankfully not a ton of platforming in the game (although i think they improved it in no remorse).
>>4067896
>Were the controls always considered absurd
They're not actually that bad once you get used to them.
>>4067972
I should add that sidestepping isn't that useful, it's better to roll. I never sidestep.
So what you'll be using most is arrow keys, shift, ctrl, space and s.
Been playing the Megaman legacy collection recently.
Got through 1 and 2 without much trouble but damn I forgot how much 3 is a step up in difficulty.
Classic megaman thread?
>>4067369
3 is such a good game, shame it has those Doc Robot levels that drag it down
2 and 6 are my favorites. The GB 5 was also really unique.
I haven't played 7, 8, 9 or 10, can't wait to try those on Legacy Collection 2
>>4067374
Damn didn't even know there was gonna be a legacy collection 2 now I'm excited. I've played 1/2/3/4/9/10 10 and 9s probably the hardest one I've played, such a good game.
Also best box art
There are plenty of hacks which make MM games better. Lag reduction patches, bug fixes, etc
For MM3, there is "Improvement" which gets rid of all lag, fixes a lot of glitches, and also has some other additions/changes which you may or may not like
http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/992/
For Rockman 4 (doesn't work with MM4), lag reduction patch, there are two patches, one "standard" lag reduction, and another one which also changes other things like being able to switch weapons on the fly (but also gets rid of the autoscroll sections...)
http://www.geocities.jp/borokobo/zip/Rock4Optimization_v3.zip
For Rockman 5, but these ones also works with MM5. Lag reduction patch:
http://rock5easily.sakura.ne.jp/archive/rock5_lite.zip
Lets you say switch weapons on the fly (select, down+select, select+start):
http://rock5easily.sakura.ne.jp/archive/rock5_weaponselect.zip
Rockman 6 (does not work with MM6):
Lag reduction patch but also speeds up the process of many things, like loading times, scrolling when entering a room, etc:
http://www.geocities.jp/borokobo/zip/Rock6Optimization101.zip
Fixed sliding. In the original MM6, and unlike other MM games, you couldn't jump during a slide, plus there is a small delay, wait time, at the end of a slide. This fixes both:
http://www.geocities.jp/borokobo/zip/Rock6FixSlide2.zip
With both patches applied, RM6 becomes 100% more fun.
How do I get decent at fighting games /vr/? I have no problem doing the special move inputs but I don't know how to do combos for shit
>>4067359
Dose your game of choice have a training mode?
>>4067359
Practice. Both in training mode so you learn how to into combo (or 2p mode with nobody holding the other controller, if there's no training mode) and against a real flesh-and-blood player who's about your level.
>>4067359
Look up some BnBs for your preferred character
Drill them into your head until they become second nature
Go on Fightcade; watch all of that shit go right out the window the first time you play a live opponent
Eventually stop spazzing out and actually start using those combos
Don't forget throws when close
Seriously I used to get thrown all the fucking time because I'd forget that shit; don't be me
>Garou Specific
Parrying is easy as shit, but you still have to be able to read/bait your opponent to use it fully
Really though you shouldn't expect to become some kind of 99-hit juggling god overnight. Just learn what specials can be chained off what normals. Self control means more than anything else really; I have a habit of wanting to jump-in for everything and I get punished for it. When I play real people I have to force myself to walk/dash in and stop hopping around like an idiot
Post them here and happy Father's Day.

I want a sequel or precuel
How about a spiritual successor?
God, I fucking love the controls in this game. And torturing the Clancers.
Who owns the rights to the series now? Square Enix or Treasure?
why didn't this disc include the other retro zelda games:eg ,link to the past, links awakening(dx) and the oracle games?
Probably because it would be too good a deal.
>>4067274
Idk but I was always mad that I missed out on this.
>>4067283
The only real problem with the collection is the fact that Majora's Mask is buggy as hell. I stopped playing it because of that.
Google search says Playstation can do six figure textured polygons on screen at once, but Jason Rubin (Crash Bandicoot) said it was around 3000 polygons, similar to Nintendo DS:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqjkAXCgx7M&t=625
>It was about 3000 polygons, give or take
So who's lying?
>>4067065
Higher estimate specs are technically correct, like the processor is fast enough to push 10 gorillion polygons -- buts that's only when it's not doing anything else, like tracking enemy AI or calculating hit detection or lighting effects or etc etc.
So Rubin is more or less correct; in actual practical game playing context, it's closer to 3,000 polys, when you have all that other processing happening for the actual game.
>>4067069
I'm well aware of needing overhead for processing the rest of the game, but going from a 300k to 3k is a huge downgrade. It makes me wonder how 4 player splitscreen games were even possible, especially if they subdivide the floors and walls to lessen the wobble, like Quake 2.
>>4067071
>4 player splitscreen games were even possible
To be fair, the PS1 version of Quake 2 is largely flat corridors and rooms, there's very little else being modelled.
>farming rare drop
>get in a fast rhythm of leaving and re-entering the room when it doesn't drop
>no luck after 2 hours
>leave the room again and see the drop appear in the last couple of frames
>>4066886
what game?
>>4066886
Name 4 games on the PlayStation and 3 on the Famicom that do this.
>>4066892
That's what happens when you start coming to 4chan once then weather gets warm.
>literally every game that runs in high res mode performs worse
What were they thinking?
Who are you quoting?
>What were they thinking?
Who is they?
>>4066830
>literally every game that runs in high res mode performs worse
This is literally true for any 3D hardware in existence. Obviously when you render in higher resolution you put more pressure on hardware. Why the surprise?
>>4066839
we're talking degrees here, some of those n64 titles becaome unplayable due to graphical chugging, something most pc players would never put up with
ITT
Games that aren't actually as good as you remember them being.
I really liked this game. I still do. I suppose DK 64 comes to mind.

Spyro 1
I dunnae dudeski, DKR is pretty legit. It's more apparent to me now how much of it wasn't finished, sure, but it's still solid stuff.
Do you like Pac-Man?
What's your favorite Pac-Man game?
I'm gonna have to go withCE DX.
Pac-Man Arrangement is the GOAT. Lots of great mazes, cool items, and fucking fantastic music.

That last one is the single best continue BGM of any game I've ever played.
>>4066229
I like most of his arcade outings. in particular I liked: The Original, Ms.Pac-Man, Pac-land, Pac&Pal, Pac-Man plus, and Pac-Man Jr.
I also really liked world, really solid platformer.
I have a Pac Man problem. I've not even particularly good at any of them but I compulsively buy ports of them. Especially those plug-n-play TV things.
>>4066253
Is correct about Arrangement. It's crazy how well Namco has been able to keep PacMan of all things fresh and interesting. Arrangement is up there with Championship as a great overhaul of it.
If anyone ever gets the chance to play PacMan VS, that also is damn fun. I bought a link GBA cable just for that game back when I got PacMan World 2 on Gamecube.
Best way of playing PC-98 games on modern PCs?
Any particular games you guys recommend? Will dump some images in the thread to start us off.
