Grab No-Intro sets and never worry again. If you can't figure out how to get them, that sucks for you.

have you ever made a game /vr/?

I have. A flash game I did for a game design course (it's a joke to call that stuff education). The game is called Shoot Stuff In Space. It contains about 3-5 minutes of nonrepeatative gameplay. Featured a wacky idea where increasing your score increased the speed of your ship making it progressivly harder to control. If I were ever to continue development (not bloody likely) I'd have some enemies drop speed down powerups.

Are there better sites/archives to find abandonware?
Archive.org is kind of cool but it's much harder to navigate.
Any other sites worth visiting?

Not gonna lie, I was looking for abandonware and there I found Hitman, GTA, Starcraft, Unreal Tournament, but it seems like a very cool website nonetheless, thanks anon

HOTU
there used to be a site called "home of the underdog" that was the library of alexandria for older games, if went thru some phases of on and off some years ago, a mirror popped once and died too, try to find them and see if it still has a compreehensive catalog.

I feel like it's a special skill to make a game as simple as the original Mario Bros. fun to play. Another one I like is Bomb Jack.
I'd like to see other single-screen platformers that hold up still.

I can't help but wonder how much of the setting and character backstory has been actually written that didn't make it to the game.

It's a shame the strategy part was so underutilized, too.

I should give this a shot someday, it seems like it's had a good reputation for a long time but doesn't get as much attention as other D&D-branded SSI games (admittedly probably part of the reason I never played it either).
>>
>>4066275

It's not a D&D game.

Emulator for DS/nes doesn't seem to offer reliable long term save options, only save states and freezes. How do I save properly and what emulators do you use?

Just use a savestate if you're emulating. Who gives a shit.

Most NES games didn't save at all you underage piece of shit, savestates is all you get.

I was the first person to kill a kid in fallout and get the childkiller perk which was an easter egg that I first discovered. I put it on my geocities page and it spread like wildfire on the interwebz. Tim Caine even called me to congratulate me.

you're welcome anon

The act of being able to murder children, that achievement and that image would be like a thousand career suicides if put in a game today.

You were probably not the first to do it, but the first to run to the interwebs to brag about killing children.

I really love Old Internet and the charm the graphics of those old websites. I remember going NES blogs of the Early 2000's and they always had a lot personality. Now that we only go to places like YouTube where everyone's shit looks the same, part of that personal charm is lost especially in the retro gaming community. I randomly stumbled upon a review of Monster in my Pocket from 2016 on a website that I doubt anyone even frequents. I love the layout, writing style, everything here brings me back to going to places like NES World.
Is there anyone else still doing this type of thing? I don't think hosting a site is actually smart or viable, but send me to any there are.

its pennies, $30 per year will get you hosting, that is if dont simply use a wordpress or similar content management system with free hosting to theme as you wish a .tk frame redirecting.

I've never seen a Macintosh games thread on here.
Recently picked up an LC II and playing Prince of Persia and Oregon Trail. They're really nice versions it seems.
Any other Mac game recommendations? Preferably MacOS 7.5.3 or lower.
