There will never be a time like the 90s in terms of graphical leaps. Who do you think was the most influential in progressing 3d technology?

The Lockheed Martin/SEGA combo gets my vote.

Montezuma's Revenge, son. I'm mostly familiar with the Colecovision version, but the Master System version is supposed to be the best.

Really makes you think.

I'm not sure if this is the correct board to post this. It is somewhat related to retro gaming, though.

I'm trying to play some PS1 games in RetroArch, but all of the sprites have weird shit going on and the games have issues rendering transparency. The attached image is from Breath of Fire IV in a burning forest sequence. I've been changing the display settings but nothing seems to be helping me out. For anyone else playing PS1 games in RetroArch: How do I get my have transparent objects render correctly? And how do I maintain crisp looking sprites? Mind sharing what you have your visual options set to?

I'm interested to know how you managed to fuck up ps1 emulation in RA so spectacularly. Considering there is nothing you need to change to get games running well.
>>
>>4054615
The screenshot is from the default settings. So, yeah, I'm interested in knowing this as well.

There's a lot to love about this game but it can be so very very frustrating.

What are your thought on it and the sequel?

The first one is hundred times better, sequel is a bit too gimmicky at times but its still a nice and fun to play game

GK3 is really the black sheep of the series?

GK3 is great, it only got a bad rep due to that shitty Old Man Murray article.

It was a hugely influential gaming site that used Gabriel Knight 3 as the reason why adventure gaming died: http://www.oldmanmurray.com/features/77.html

You know the drill, except this time, I've got a weird one.

Someone that works at an arcade I go to told me about a strange action game they played in Japan. It was a side-scrolling action game that they said was likely from the late 80s, and "like River City Ransom", so I'm assuming it's a beat 'em up. The gimmick is that the control panel had a joystick and two buttons, as well as a light gun (or positional gun). At certain scenes, you would use the gun. There was a scene where you were shooting down an alleyway, and one where you were in a car shooting out the back window.

I know of games that would switch to a shooting gallery screen but still use the joystick (Alien Storm, Crime City), but something that used an actual gun controller for it. I've played countless obscure games in MAME, but I've either forgotten this one, or it isn't emulated. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Maybe that's what it was reminding me of, but no, it's an arcade game, and apparently it was in a dedicated cabinet.

How does /vr/ store their controllers? Do you just toss them into a box or a closet? Do you keep them in bags?

I once saw here on /vr/ a diy stand made for placing controllers, that was the coolest solution I've ever seen for the problem.

>>4052946
Adjustable velcro straps to manage cables, and then a cabinet/drawer to keep the dust off. But I'm a slob anyways so I leave shit out for days if I'm playing through a game and my most used controllers are grungy because I don't wash my hands.

>>
>>4052946
I have a few drawers I keep stuff in depending on how often I use it. Most of my stuff is boxed up and packed away. It's cool to have shit like mahjong controllers and what not but it's not like I'm going to use them much. I don't put things in bags or tie up the cables. Doing this is terrible for long term storage.

Picked up a 5 inch TOTEVISION CT-6000 portable TV, has a VIDEO IN and AUDIO IN. Trying out a NES annnddd...nothin. Tried CH4/CH3, tuning it all up and down, UHF/VHF, this thing even has a MONITOR switch, nothing works. I'm using working cables, tried a different NES even, no picture. Currently have this running with a 12v adapter, although it technically says 13.5v. Tried the "AFT" button with no effect either. Volume works, I'm stumped. Did I just pick up a piece of junk?

because you didnt dash. and its more focused on the puzzles and keeping your friends safe.

It's about the same speed as the other Kirby games, not counting the coked-up Super Star.

Worst Kirby game that does not have a gimmick like Airride or Avalanche.

Worst art design as well.
