They get a reputation for being cheap toys that aren't very fun, but I think it's because they tend to get collectively lumped into people's minds with those Tiger LCD handhelds that flooded every toy store in the '90s.

Game & Watch games were actually fun, and some of them are fun enough to legitimately still be worth playing.

They are also nice in a way because Nintendo stopped making arcade games, but they did make plenty of unique G&W games

Donkey Kong II is my favorite

I like them.

Surprised Nintendo hasn't done much with them since they're so crazy for re-selling their old properties. You'd think an all in one compilation on the 3DS would be a no brainer since the 3DS could probably emulate the look of the LCD screen pretty well.

I have that same CD sans stickers, came in the mail when I ordered a PC copy of Mechwarrior 2 half a decade ago. I was a little upset it wasn't what I ordered, but was fascinated to find a PSX port of the game existed.

AFAIK it's not a development copy and was a full commercial release. I'll bet you "Development Concepts" was just the name of some mom & pop rental store that carried the game decades ago.

Why? They were a poor man's handheld console back in the day, and now that every six year old has access to a smartphone they can just tap the screen a few times to find a free game that will provide much more entertainment than any of these games can.

I like it. I never noticed any physics changes in it. I thought it was just a tile swap.

Only SMB1/Lost Levels, and the physics change is only noticeable if you speedrun the games.

Im generally fine with them until people start selling them as if they where the real thing. If you want to buy a repro and the guy selling it says it's a repro than whatever. Ive seen people try to pass this shit off as the real deal.

Either import, emulate, or buy a flashcart. Why would you waste money to buy individual repos when you can just buy a single flashcart and have all of them?

If they come with a code list. Lots of universal remotes now make you rely on having the original remote to program it.

Though if you have a cable company their remotes are usually universal and you can use that in the meantime.

So some research on what remote came with it and get it off eBay or something. I did that with a Wega I got a few months ago, remote was like $5 shipped
