Sup motherfuckers
What's the last /vr/ game you tried at random that you actually loved
Pic related, I tried playing this a few years ago, didn't really put time on it but god damn this shit is decent
I love Actraiser. Never got a chance to play it as a kid but loved it when it came to the virtual console years ago. Would be great to find a copy
PAL version has the most features of any release but does run at 5/6 the speed. Patching a PAL rom to run at the correct speed makes for the best Actraisor experience.

Unfortunately the US release was gutted (made super ease, lack the "professional!" arcade mode of the PAL version)
Shame Actraiser 2 just isn't the same as the first, its alight...

The last game I played that I genuinely loved having never played it before...
Probably Dino Crisis 2.
It was just great.
hell yeah, another good hack.

Wow. That's pointless.
I bet Peach is real easy after a drink r two
Hey Dark Sider anon, did you get anywhere with this game? You got me interested. Did you see >>3973317?
Previous thread archive: https://warosu.org/vr/thread/3966984
The game is only a demo and the full game is probably lost for good.
>>4049279
Is it a properly trimmed demo or is it the full game with just a little stuff changed out that you can potentially restore? If it's the latter, you still have a chance to find a copy if you go to Japan and look for it, but who's going to do it?
>>4049390
It appeared to be the Japanese equivalent of a shareware demo. Cut down to be an easy download even at 2400bps. If it was crippleware it would (probably) be at least the size of a whole floppy disk.
What is your favourite first-person FromSoft RPG, /vr/?
Shadow Tower Abyss.
>>4048638
My nigga.
>>4048539
Shadow Tower.
I wish they had used an engine that didn't chug though. Armored Core had already come out so they were clearly capable of making one with a better draw distance and less slowdown.
So I just finished Parasite Eve for the first time, I had to beat the final boss three times because of the escape sequence. I just wanted to know what your experience with this sequence was, did you get killed trying to save? Did you know had to press the buttons on the control panel on your first try?
>>4048324
Got killed when I tried to save. That was the only mistake I ever made during that part.
I use save states.
>>4048324
Last time I played PE was in the early 00's so it's tough to remember... I think I failed the first time, but the whole game was full of somewhat obscure-to-find items and switches that required you to hug walls mashing the context-sensitive action key a lot. Just like Resident Evil 2, except with more narrow event triggers. So I don't think the game was tricking me *too* much at that point.
The part that I remember fucking with me the most was in... I think it was Central Park or maybe a zoo, there was a bunch of snow, and there was some item you had to find in a drawer or something but you needed to be pixel-perfect to "activate" the drawer and get an item from it. I thought I had checked it already, but I wasn't positioned just right.
I also vaguely remember struggling at the museum with dinosaur skeletons.
Don't have a lot of time today, so I'll have to be quick.
I'll start
Cuteness: Heat Man (pic related)
Best Weapon: Gyro Man
Design: Yamato Man
And so on
>>4048320
Cuteness: Sheepman
Best Weapon: Metal Blades (duh)
Design: Shadow Man
Ice Man is the epitome of "cute" in the Ariga mangas
While Star Man is gay, looks even more gay than Jewel Man
What went wrong.
I have it on PC, but it always crashes on the 4th world. Never beaten it. I do love the music, though. Especially the mine track.
>>4047978
Not releasing Croc 2 on Saturn instead.
Nothing. It's a much better game than Croc 1.
Found Sega Saturn at garage sale, 10 dollars came with bug, virtua cop, virtua fighter, street fighter ,some demos 2 controllers was only missing the av cable. How did i do. Pics unrelated my other junk I have
HURRR DURRR HOW DEED I DOO GAUISE?
Does it work?
If so you did pretty well anon
If you need our approval you've done pretty badly at life.
If you don't plan on selling them or playing them you wasted $10. If you do, you already know you you "did."
Is there a way to make the wario stadium jump after being lightninged?
Use mushroom
>>4047624
you can't mushroom when you're small
>>4047617
waiting.
but seriously, if you are playing multiplayer, the only honorable thing to do is use a lightning immediately upon getting one.
Just got a mega everdrive, never owned a mega drive as a kid but played it a lot on my hacked PSP.
Anyways, what are some good short easy games? I feel like beating something but don't have much time right now.
>>4047332
Outrun 2019 is a fun quick beat. Good music, easy gameplay, and its designed for the Genesis, so it doesn't suffer from the horrid jerkiness that awful arcade-Genesis ports like Turbo Outrun suffer from.
>>4047332
>what are good games for x system
we have these threads every day, do some research
I know what good games the mega drive has, that's not what I asked. Phantasy Star is a great game but it's super long for example.
SHUT UP ALREADY
That was a very shitty belt scroller.
At least the soundtrack is pretty... "def"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdf1wK5vVDw
The problem with this game is that it could only detect one hit collision at a time, so if you line up a punch with two enemies only one of them would get hit stunned and the other one would be free to punish your sorry ass.
ghouls n' ghost best version on game boy advance /vr/ ?
overclocked SNES emulator is the best
>>4045292
I like how they remade some ghosts and goblins levels for the gba version. It's pretty neat.
PC actually (Maldita Castilla)
Im liking this better than the ps1 final fantasy games.
Is there something wrong with me.
>>4045271
Excellent game. You're fine, brother
The PS1 FFs are rose tinted glasses bullshit.
>>4045320
I think they're alright, and this is without nostalgia
Does anyone here have any good tandy/basic text format programs/games?
something that I can enter in on my TandyCoCo 3 via manual keyboard input? I want to get a tape drive to save it on, someday. but right now all I have is RAM.
I'll be posting a few programs here.. if thats ok. looking for more.
Here's a basic painting program I have. really short and really fun. 1/3
>>4045032
clearer shot near the crease.
>>4045036
ok here's the actual program. the rest of the side is an ad, so not losing anything there.
Let's see that cabinet anon. What did you do to make it work? Does it work at all? How'd you get it?
>Recently snagged this for $250, >Everything except the trigger on the flight stick works, the other fire buttons work though
>mfw steal of the century
Does this really merit two concurrent threads?
Really?
I have a handful of arcade cabs:
Candies: Astro, Blast (with a Wei-Ya monitor now), Neo (monitor has been out of this one for ages, waiting for my lazy ass to finish recapping it - to be fair, it has an inordinate amount of capacitors)
Dedicated: Lost World (stand-up cab), The House of the Dead (pedestal), Area 51: Site 4 (there's some sort of color issue going on, might be wiring or board, I don't know)
Also have many arcade PCBs, including stuff like Salamander, Gradius II, and Splatterhouse. Also a lot of not-so-rare things that seem to have spiked in price, such as Battletoads and Turtles in Time. The fad collectors have arrived.
>>4044285
>people laughed at my shit find in the first thread
>so i started another
>maybe no one will notice
>mfw summer of the century
