Shit, forgot to post this for my last runner's johnson meetup.
Don't fuck with Budgie.
Budgie will fucking wreck you.
So we meet alien civilizations. We also find out that they are far more powerful (and more populated) than us. How would we react?

Become Rhodesia instead.
>>48970313
Paranoia that they'll decide to enslave us, even if they sincerely come in peace.
>>48970313
I wrote this HFY about how aliens discovered us but were confused about the internet. In their technological progress, the information network was reserved for scientists, government, and military.
Let's face it GW doesn't give a flying fuck about Orks and they should be removed from the game. They are too derpy and don't fit the grimdark setting, they are not a real threat and they will forever be underpowered pieces of shit. Space Marines are pretty much the only faction that matters.

They're doing a twelve novel series on Orks.

This week's Monday Meeting Notes:
http://theonyxpath.com/jumping-to-mars-monday-meeting-notes/
>Question
Do you include home-brewed organizations in your game? (not necessarily fan-games, but new covenants, hunter organizations etc...)
>>48958394
I think you linked the wrong previous thread, OP: >>48923135.
Speaking of custom groups, what are some good custom Hunter compact and conspiracies?
>>48958394
Nah, I'm kinda disappointed with a lot of the home brew Hunter stuff. None of the fan made conspiracies have really grabbed my attention the way the official ones do.
I'll have to give Dreamcatchers another look, but my hopes aren't high.
>>48958394
I tend to dislike a lot of homebrew stuff and would still rather use canon groups than my own. While stuff like building your own cults in Mage or Mummy is fine, I'm always going to choose canon organizations and z-splats over fan stuff, and shun fangames.
>the innkeeper hires your party to kill the giant mice in the basement
>the giant mice are cute mouseboys and mousegirls who find the basement so cozy
What does your party do?
>>48982802
If they are sentient and their culture understands property, we explain they are trespassing and the owner wants them gone. If they can't afford a place to live, we find them a job around town.
If they are going to be considered monsters by the townsfolk, we find them a place in the wild.
Nah, who am I kidding, we roll for initiative and tell the GM to fuck off with his furry fetish.
We have a contract. Now I'm not saying that it's right or wrong, but you have to consider future employment and reputation implications. If the adventuring party can't complete such a simple task, words going to get around.
My advice: Explain the situation to the innkeeper and try to work out an alternative option. If he still wants to go for the extermination option, it's our job to carry out his wishes. We also give the DM a shiner for being a furry nonce
>>48982802
Ridicule the DM for his poor taste and tell him he should keep his shitty anime furries out of our game.
Which reminds me OP: You have poor taste and you should keep you shitty anime furries away from this board.
Black appreciation edtion.

>Glimmer Steel (Silken Armor, Artifact *****)
>Glimmer Steel is a set of extremely elaborate and opulent clothes that even an elder Solar Exalted of the First Age would be pleased with. Glimmer Steel is colored with varying shades of grey, highlighted with deep violet and veins of gold, and tastefully embroidered with designs bringing to mind elemental essences. Light dances along the embroidered designs, making them seem to move across the fabric on their own.
>Close inspection reveals that the gold tracing through Glimmer Steel is not actually gold, but orichalcum. The orichalcum is fine wires, hair thin, and braided into thicker threads. The placement of the orichalcum allows it reinforce the clothing against blows, offering more protection than most mundane armors.
>The embroidered designs are not mere decoration either, being fine wires of all colors of jade. Black jade rivers flow through white jade hills, red jade fires dance through green jade forests, and all beneath blue jade clouds. All these jade wires also reinforce the armor's strength while maintaining its flexibility and lightness.
>Only Solars may attune to Glimmer Steel, due to the abundance of orichalcum present. Any Solar who does attune to it finds that Glimmer Steel has increased soak and hardness, equivalent to Medium Artifact Armor, but it retains all the other statistics of Light Artifact Armor, and does not count as armor for the purpose of Martial Arts styles that cannot be used with armor.
What do you all think about it?
>>48899869
Looks good to me. I've not looked through the book in a while; is this something that you made or something from the book? Regardless, I'm using it.
>>48900087
Something I made.
I did make a change after someone elsewhere pointed it out: Anyone can attune to any material, not just their own MM. So I altered this so that if anyone other than a Solar attunes to it, it does not get the Soak/Hardness boost and functions as regular Silken Armor.
This is a Japanese lich.
Well yeah? A lich is a high level spellcaster, they could appear like whatever they please. In fact it makes more sense for the lich appear attractive than some stanky skeleton.

>all this internet drama between regressive and lolbertarian MTG youtubers
Just out of curiosity, does anybody actually give a shit about this kind of stuff in your local gaming store?
Sure, there's a few people we laugh about for still having Bernie 2016 playmats. Someone even has a very detailed Hillary For Prison playmat, while I sport that picture of Trump on a tank.
But nobody is actively talking about politics. Nobody is crying censorship, or caring about the "10 white men" who made Conspiracy, or that there's a black planeswalker, or a transgender khan.
Internet drama is mostly just that. Internet drama.
Strangely enough, people are even more vitriolic without anonymity.
>>48979427
>But nobody is actively talking about politics. Nobody is crying censorship, or caring about the "10 white men" who made Conspiracy, or that there's a black planeswalker, or a transgender khan.
That's because these people don't actually play the game, they're online activists that fling controversy from the safety of their apartment.
>>48979427
The people who start drama are inevitably the people who benefit from it. Youtubers and shitty clickbait sites need hits, so they fabricate controversy out of whole cloth. It also makes them feel important. Professional victimhood, and reactionary lashing out at professional victimhood, are now both growing entertainment industries.
So I have been planning to start playing Warhammer fantasy for a long time, but after finally moving to a place where I can procure them, I heard that Warhammer fantasy is dead and is became Age of Sigmar.
I saw on the internet a lot of hate going on about this but mostly were pure hate because Warhammer fantasy died.
So I want to ask now:
-Is Age of Sigmar fluff as good as Warhammer fantasy?
-are the rules different or better?
-would you recommend it to new players?
Thanks
>>48976706
Answeing your question in order:
- No
-Yes, but not better
-Yes, if you're a mentally handicapped person
In the odd chance that this isn't bait.
>Is Age of Sigmar fluff as good as Warhammer fantasy?
Not even close, Warhammer fantasy has had 30+ years to develop, AoS has been around for a year.
>are the rules different
VASTLY different
>or better?
see skub
>would you recommend it to new players?
As in, your first wargame? Sure, from my understanding its simple enough ruleswise, so shouldn't be too hard to grasp, fucking expensive, though thats all GW stuff anyway.
Maybe look at some skirmish level stuff for cheaper entry level, I quite enjoy Malifaux and Infinity.
>>48976706
>-Is Age of Sigmar fluff as good as Warhammer fantasy?
No. Sigmarines can eat a dick.
>-are the rules different or better?
They are very hard to compare under this topic. 40k and AOS are closer for instance.
>-would you recommend it to new players?
No. Instead I would have a look at the 9th age. Looks promising.
No, Maxwell. Everyone is the Ashbringer Edition

How would the Imperium treat a newly found colony that can produce Spartan IIs and IIIs. I know Space Marines are better but the Imperium could still use them.
I would guess they would be produce as part of the planetary Tithe and be sent to the Guard or Inquisition (For bodyguards or Stormtroopers).
This also assumes that this world can produce the power armor for them, so how does that effect this worlds standing?
For the hell of it lets call this world Reach.
Bring them into the fold, take their shit.
That's standard procedure.
If somehow these guys are Chaos corrupted they might get CLEANSEPURGEKILL'd.
The authors are inconsistent about how reasonably the Imperium acts.
That said, it tends to lean on the unreasonable side if it can afford to,
and on the reasonable side when it cannot.
If they're doing well enough to have the time to find new colonies,
they're probably doing well enough to get away with being unreasonable.Either way Mechanicus would declare it heretekal.
Not that they would necessarily have much influence.
>>48956063
You know just as well as I that a Mechanicus fleet would be dispatched to purge them for being "Hereteks" and straying from the Omnissiahs light

OURS
So what things besides Mr. Tannen do you guys think would be good for an asami crew?
>>48946735
If I had to hazard a guess at why the 7 aren't seen so much its that they come in a box of 7 models where you will mostly use 1-3 at a time depending on faction and master. Hell I only have Envy because a friend gave him to me as he never planned on using him but heard he was good with Colette.
>>48946861
Well if you plan on needing scheme markers 10T Brothers are always good, the new horseman oni looks amazing and like an auto include. Toshiro pumps minions which Asami summons.
