My group and I have been running L5R for two years now, but they've done some OSR stuff with Beyond the Wall. I'm thinking of bashing together BtW with some stuff from Adventurer, Conqueror, King.

Outlaw Rogue, now that it's basically ARR BE A PIRATE! is actually a hell of a lot of fun.

Now if only Blizzard would implement longcoat-type armors, it would be perfect.

>>
>>48975703
Is it worth changing from Destruction to Affliction? Or demonology even? Never really played serious on my warlock so I'm not too attached to my spec.
>>
>>48975703
My problem is when you get to stage 2+ on the invasions and you need to go into your actual rotation, and its just so dull. It also doesn't help that Blizz has made leveling in WoW just terrible now.

I may end up switching to a SPriest anyway, do love me some Old God lore.
>>
>>48975748
There's a Warcraft RPG based on D&D 3/3.5 (can't recall which) and a similar WoW RPG, but i think that one had a few more differences.
>>
Just finished watching the Warcraft movie.

Honestly, as long as you don't go full autist on lore and just enjoy it as something related to Warcraf, without the need to be perfectly accurate, it's quite the entertaining movie. Would appreciate a director's cur though.
>>
>>48975805
destruction is garbage (wtf was Blizzard thinking with that mastery, jesus) and demonology is imo really boring but a lot of people enjoy the summoning aspect of it. Afflic is my favourite because I enjoy spamming DoTs, but Demo is legit too
>>
>>48975812
your real rotation is definitely less fun before you get Soul Effigy, but that's literally only a problem with invasions because the bosses have so much health
>>
>>48975839
Oh yeah. That mastery. Not great.
I think I may switch to Demo then. The artifact interests me a little more.
>>
>>48975839
I like the concept behind Demon, since that's my preferred spec since Vanilla, but it's execution is complete shit.
Destruction is still "fire mage, but now even more useless!" and the Soul Shard costs for the spec are retarded.
Aff is where it's at now, but you still have complete shit for quick DPS(hooray for rampup!) or AOE. Fucking Seed of Corruption is all but useless. You can get a talented ability to do some more AOE, but it's got a long cooldown.
>>
>>48976050
>Fucking Seed of Corruption is all but useless
I hate how they changed it from triggering on death to triggering if the effect times out. Makes AoEing packs of weak mobs a huge pain in the ass
>>
>>48976063
I hated it since they made it that it only triggers of YOUR damage and not the rest of your party's.
>>
>>48976063

It was probably a bit OP back in TBC/Wrath when it exploded when target died or took X damage from everyone. But in its current form, it seems like it's not even worth the mana most of the time.
>>
>>48976122
TBC, yeah. Wrath, not so much, but still pretty powerful.
>>
>>48976158
But to continue, it's DEFINITELY not worth the mana or the time to cast. It's just fucking useless.
>>
>>48975825
Agreed. A directors cut would likely take care of the pacing, which is really the only gripe if you aren't taking it super seriously.

Dudes underdeveloped kid was kinda dumb too, but maybe there was some bonding that got cut.

6.5-7/10 : entertaining but not a masterpiece by any stretch.
>>
>>48975825
Duncan Jones has expressed interest in making a director's cut, but the first run DVD/BDs will not be so. They'll have a lot of the cut content, but it will be separated from the movie, rather than integrated in. Which is really just fucking stupid.
>>
>>48976363
Just watch the deleted scenes separate like any other movie. It's really nothing to gt worked up about.
>>
>>48975748

>>
>>48976419
Fuck that. Not wasting money on it until proper director's cut.
>>
>>48976318
I'm not going to say it's awful, but i'll say it's a wasted opportunity. Look at the Warcraft 2 manual, the way it explains how the first attack against the humans went we could've had a fucking Warcraft Game of Thrones.

>>48976063
I never liked that spell. The DoT spec gets spammy explosions for AoE.

I rather liked the AoE Drain Life talent (Harvest Life i think?) for flavour, though the VFX weren't that great and did clutter the screen a lot.

I think i'd make seed perhaps not do damage by itself, but instead radiate damage you dealt to the target, so you'd just go on with your normal rotation on it and it'd do the AoE based on that. Perhaps reduce the damage you deal to the target while it's in there if needed for balance, and adjust it so multidotting is better for 2-3 targets.
>>
>>48975825
Going full autist on Warcraft lore is never a good idea.

>>48976050
I like the concept of the current Demon, but the execution needs work. Still more fun than Afflic for me.

>>48976063
God, its so useless. Most lock specs suck at non-multiDoTing AOE. Only reason I've been running Afflic, since they're the best for multiDoTing.
>>
>>48976490
>could've had a fucking Warcraft Game of Thrones.
Impossible to do as a movie. Unfeasible to do as a TV series.
Adaptations have to adapt.

Okay, so I played all three RTS games back in the day, and I've played a bit of WoW, but I don't know the lore all that well.

1. How can I learn the lore better?
2. How do you recommend I set up a campaign that doesn't totally fuck the setting up?
>>
>>48976873
>1. How can I learn the lore better?
The manuals for warcraft 1, 2 and 3 have good info.

The wikis aren't that bad. The gamepedia one is better than wowwiki iirc.
Play the games today.
If you're lazy cheat in the beginning of each mission, won't give you a possible sense of adversity though, but the voices, the look and the mission briefings can possibly give you a better understanding.

Just listening through mission briefings for wc1 and wc2, and then playing through the wc3 campaigns could be an idea.
There aren't a lot of lore bits during missions in wc1 and wc2, unlike wc3.

>2. How do you recommend I set up a campaign that doesn't totally fuck the setting up?
It's already fucked up.
Do what you want.

I think the first step is to find out when you want the campaign to take place.
While Legion is taking place?
Before Warcraft 3?

Yes, the Dalaran quest chain is horribly paced.

I think it's supposed to be Legion equivalent of going through the Dark Portal in WoD, so you do a short quest chain then you're in the Broken Isles and can go do the actual quest zones.

But they decided to add it one quest a week in the pre-patch, when it would take you twenty fucking minutes if they were all in the game at once. So, bad call there.

Seed of Corruption made sense for what it was, you plant a seed and nurture it with pain, unitl it blooms and damages others. In a spec that was supposed to be ticking constant damage, it fits right in. But it could've done something instead of just big burst damage. Radiating the damage it takes makes a LOT more sense, but it'd have to be renamed.

>>

>>48981255
Hopefully not as a generic blob.

"Don't worry guys, he's not Gorefiend yet, he'll be back!"
"Awesome, so he'll be the cunning death knight we know and love?"
"Ehhhh, we were thinking he'd turn into a big monster and yell a lot like a generic raid boss, close enough?"
>>
>>48981348
Yeah. When Gul'dan tossed Gorehowl to Grom, I was like "Oh shit, they got Garrosh's body! Teron'gor is gonna posses that shit!" and then bam.

He turns into a typical burger.
>>
>>48981376
I still hope some day a writer will remember they have a disembodied MU Gorefiend to use.

They could do a lot with him at this point, and could make him go either way in terms of alignment. He was Shadow Council, sure, but he seemed genuinely loyal to Doomhammer and the Horde after he came back while Gul'dan ditched them, and also jumpstarted Ner'zhul's portal plan to get the remaining orcs off Draenor.

It would be kind of nice to have a warlock character who isn't totally evil/Legion aligned.
>>
>>48981457

"Oh yeah, that's Gorefiend. I dunno why he's here, but just let him crash there since I don't really want to fuck with him."
"O-okay."

On the premise of first gen death knights, do you think it would be possible to make a DK ingame and somehow say that an AU warlock fused or imprinted himself on a dead body, and when he died, it kicked off a dead mans switch that transported his soul to said dead body?
>>
>>48981618
I RP a character like that, but I made him a Forsaken warlock. Warlock is closer to a first gen DK's powers, and avoids the confusion of "Yes I'm a death knight, no not that kind of death knight though".
>>
>>48981642

>>
>>48981712
Oh no, this is completely unrelated. My orc warlock was simply a student trying to learn the arcane, but eventually drifted into the warlock shit. I just don't know how to play him right now.
>>
>>48981726
Oh, I getcha. I can't really tell you how to play them then, since you can go a lot of ways. Given his people's history with fel magic, how does he see it/himself? Is he insistent that he's not like the Shadow Council? Does he think it's bad, but necessary evil? Is he a baddie?
>>
>>48981811
He's not a baddie, I'd say its more of an attraction to the "forbiddeness" of it. But I guess it doesn't matter because there really is no insta-rp in Horde cities in MG
>>
>>48981830
WRA Horde is better in that regard I think, or at least it was when I was actively playing, been on break for a little while. Typical Silvermoon stuff, but Orgrimmar is usually active when not in the between expansion lull.
>>
>>48981878
I'll have to check it out then. So, after Siege, is the Horde vastly reduced, or was the True Horde just a very powerful minority to force everyone out of Orgrimmar?
>>
>>48981830
I don't even RP, but I like to come up with little backstories/personalities in my head for my characters just for shits and giggles. I rolled a Belf Warlock with the justification that she is studying the Fel and learning to bend demons and demonic power to her will so that she can never be corrupted by it like the wayward Prince Kael'Thas. Instead of throwing her lot in with demons and making deals for power that corrupts, she yanks demons out of the nether and makes them her bitch while siphoning their power to unleash hell on her enemies. If any demon tries to corrupt her, she'll just choke slam the fucker and tell him "Not fucking likely."

It's not entirely unlikely for an Orc to do the same. They've been corrupted and bent to the will of demons before. It's their defining character arc, so a student of the arcane who started veering into the forbidden realm of the Fel in search of a way to overcome it's corrupting influence on his people and himself decides to turn the tables and make the Fel his bitch instead of the other way around.

It's the Shadow Priests that are tough to reconcile with a non-evil player character. They channel dark power from the Old Gods and the Void, which are kind of irrevocably evil, and much of the lore points to them being driven irreparably insane by channeling said power. In comparison Warlocks are pretty tame.
>>
>>48981969
This poster brings up a very good point. So it was pretty much confirmed shadow priests are old god shit? Did they retcon that forsaken do some type of "shadow" worship?
>>
>>48982049
I seem to recall specifically reading that Shadow Priests are channeling the power of the Old Gods. If it's not outright confirmed then it's *incredibly* heavily implied with the new overhaul. There's a Madness element to be managed/balanced, your supercharged shadow form sprouts writhing shadow tentacles and one of the selectable talents allows you to cast while moving when supercharged at the cost that you die when it wears off and can't be resurrected by any means at all for three minutes after. If that doesn't say "I'm channeling the horrible corrupting power of an eldritch abomination from before the dawn of time" then I don't know what does.
>>
>>48982117
Who in their right mind would take the choice to not be rezzed for a whole three minutes?
>>
>>48982208
Someone who *really* likes moving while casting. I imagine that if you're in a raid and focusing on cranking out DPS fast it would be kind of handy to not be rooted when a patch pops up under your feet. Also the madness resource keeps you in your supercharged shadow form longer, so if you keep your rotation going, you can stay in the form longer doing insane amounts of damage, so being able to not interrupt a cast due to unfortunately timed enemy attacks making you move just means you can stay in the form longer and *not* die. It'll happen eventually, but I can also see the merits in it. You'd have to be a total rotation calculation wiz to make it really viable though.

I like to think that Michael Jackson would have been a shadow priest.

The Auchenai are an order implied to largely be Shadow Priests. They all go mad in the original timeline, but before that and on Draenor they're mostly good folk that just happen to use shadow magic as a means to tend to and moderate the dead because the alternative in light magic is killing them again.

The void isn't necessarily all evil either, its main problem is that it stands in tentative opposition to the light. The new Shadow Priest artifact implies that the Naaru come from the same origin as the void, and that there're forces of the void aligned against a much bigger threat because there's always a fucking bigger threat in WoW.

>>
>>48982424
Shadow Priests don't actually draw from "old gods", they draw from the void which the old gods are a fragment of. Maladaar, Tuulani and Nyami are all Shadow Priests mechanically and thematically, though Maladaar wears plate.

Necromancy itself is actually just a form of void magic. The reason the Burning Legion doesn't employ much undead on their own and instead uses Ner'zhul as a proxy is that Ner'zhul tapped into necromancy via harvesting the Naaru who either become or revert to a void state when their energy is drawn. The Auchenai are learned shadow priests and necromancers because they live in a Naaru tomb.

>>48982471
>Xal'atath whispers: I know the naaru consider us horrors to be resisted. We do not share this view. They are merely beloved brethren that lost the true path. They will return to their masters... in time.

He has a few other whispers that imply the Naaru aren't completely trustworthy, but this and the fact that a Naaru drained of its energy doesn't die but just becomes a Void God basically tells you what's up.
>>
>>48982549
Are Naaru just bipolar Void Lords?
>>
>>48982595
We don't really have the information we say for sure but the Naaru just kind of spawned one day when the Light and the Void had a vague war that was probably as stupid as it sounds.

Their life cycle basically goes like this:
>Spring into existence
>Float around
>Bleed light when they get hurt
>When they bleed enough light they start to go insane
>When they bleed all of their light they become Void Gods

Up until Legion it's implied that being a Naaru is the default state, but Xal'atath implies the Naaru are dirty liars and that they were born into the void. Considering that they become Void by being in a 0% light state even if no external void is introduced to them at all, I'm kind of inclined to believe Xal'atath.

I mean everyone says Xal'atath is a dirty liar, but mai knaifu.

>Xal'atath whispers: Do the naaru speak of the eternal conflict? That the entire history of your world is but a fraction of the time that has passed?

IIRC she could've been 15-20 at the start of the first campaign mission in wc1.

>>
>>48983219
Then they changed the time before Llane's death at some point. Then later made her half-draenei.

Stll that would mean they'd had orcs stomping around for 20 years before the end of the first war.
>>
>>48983427
Well we do see her in the movie before the portal opens right?

Technically it would mean she's Draenei because she can't have been made before there were any orc in Azeroth, but then Medivh kinda implies he's her daddy. So medivh went and said high to some hight test orc amazon on Outland before the invasion?
>>
>>48983445
Medivh said he travelled far, and met a proud and noble people, and among them he found someone who accepted him.
Going to Draenor is not impossible for Medivh, so the implication in the movie is that he went to draenor, met orcs and fathered Garona.

I was taking a look and by the human part of the Warcraft I manual she could've been 22 by the beginning of the game, counting from when Medivh opens the rift.

Though from what the orc part says the warlocks took years before they could turn the rift into a portal. The beginning of the game is placed 15 years after the failed attack on Stormwind, so yeah, somewhere between 15-20 seems right giving the bare minimum of 2 years for the warlocks to open the gate.

One of the fun things in WoD was seeing the AU versions of various characters, including a lot of minor ones. The ones I can recall (aside from the obvious ones like the orc warlords and Team Gul'dan) are:

>Akama (obviously a regular draenei instead of broken) shows up in Shadowmoon, and picks up sickles identical to the ones he has in TBC from Alliance workers he helps save.
>Ambassador Hellmaw (demon boss in Shadow Labyrinth) appears in the ruins of Shattarath. You have to kill him as part of the bodyguard rep quest for Defender Illona.
>Drek'thar (Thrall's mentor, although probably better known to WoW players from his appearance in the Alterac Valley battleground) appears in multiple Horde quests.
>Chief Overseer Mudlump (fel orc NPC from the nether drake rep grind, who gives out daily quest to throw boots at lazy peons) shows up as a rarespawn in Tanaan, still sporting his purple pimp hat, and can drop a trinket that lets you throw boots at people.
>Greatmother Greyah (Trall's grandmother) is one of the three followers you can pick after complete the Frostfire Ridge storyline.
>Lantressor of the Blade, the half-draenei blademaster, features in a questline in both MU and AU Nagrand.
>Maladaar, as mentioned, appears in Alliance quests in Talador.

It kind of bugged me. Those sickles look really fancy for simple farming implements (which they are supposed to be; the whole reason why he picks them and keeps them afterwards is to demonstrate the power of the Light by grabbing from random farming implements and using them to smite the fuck out of orc raiders), and since he gets them from the Alliance workers they can't be the same sickles his MU version uses. So apparently the workers just happened to be carrying a pair of really fancy-looking farming sickles that also just happen to be exact copies of the weapons MU Akama used.

How does magic work in Warcraft? How does one learn it? What are the capabilities and limits to it?

3 main source of magic: Fel, Arcane, higher powers

Fel is demon magic, pretty much limitless potential, but also potential for you to blow up/get possessed, the usual demon stuff. You draw the powers directly from the Nether (hell/warp, etc).

Arcane is Titan magic, which is pretty much purified Fel magic, safer but less potential. It can come from an artificial purified source - Sunwell, Well of Eternity, etc. Or you can get it from the Nether as well, but that would attract demons. This was first used by the Nelf highborns which later became H/Belves, which later taught humans, then humans spread it to the rest of the world.

Then the rest is just Holy Light, Nature, Elementals, etc where you dedicate in a faith system and ask the deities/spirits to give you power.
>>
>>48985810
I suggest Wyrmrest Accord. Horse RP is heavily Blood Elf centric, but Alliance RP is decent as long as one stays away from the Blue Recluse.

Magic originates from the 6 main forces in WoW's cosmology: Light (holy magic), Void (shadow/void magic), Life (nature magic and whatnot), Death (necromancy), Order (arcane), and Disorder (fel). The elemental realms, and thus elemental magics, result when two or more of the above forces/realms interract in specific ways. Just about every other type of magic is a result of or a mixture of the above forces. Casting spells with this magic depends on the type of spell needing to be cast and the type of magic. But generally, casting of most sorts is just chanelling the aforementioned powers.

>>
>>48986058
>>48986120
To add to this, many types of magics and spells are granted by a powerful entity, such as a god. Generally, these entities are manifestations of either the primordial forces or the elements, or they are beings that were so heavily infused with one of the primordial forces that they might as well be manifestations. For example, for the elements you have the elemental lords. Also you have: Light (na'aru), Void (old gods), Life (wild gods/loa), Death (val'kyr/spirit healers), Order (titans), Disorder (demons)

>How does magic work in Warcraft?Where does the magic energy come from?
>magnets.png
Magic comes from, lacking a better way to put it, D&D Elemental Plane-like realms/entities. Shadow magic comes from the Void, Arcane magic comes from the Order realm, Nature/Frost/Fire magic comes from minor realms which apparently are intersections of those greater ones (according to that Chronicle map), and so forth. Some interference from entities within/ruling such might be expected in some cases, like what happens with Paladins and the Light.

>How does one learn it?
You can study and learn it. Everyone has the potential to do so as far as I know.

>What are the capabilities and limits to it?
You can do basically anything with it if you're powerful enough, from simple stuff like short distance teleportation and animating objects to do your bidding, to altering spacetime and destroying planets.

>Is it vancian in nature, or are spellbooks for something else
Used to be vancian, to some extent. Some spells/abilities used to require reagents, but they were slowly phased out for convenience, like Ankhs for a Shaman's reincarnation, or Light Feathers for a Mage's Slow Fall. Spellbooks are more like academic books with varying degrees of latent power. They can become animated, and some seem to have some degree of sentience.
>>
>>48986348
>Why do certain manipulations alter the fabric of reality?
Arcane Magic, most specifically, is the biggest culprit here. From what I've learned, it boils down to manipulating and extracting power from the fabric of reality itself, which might cause some problems as you can imagine. I imagine other spells do the same to some extent (Druid portals to the Emerald Dream/elsewhere, Death Gates, the Monk's Teleport-to-Peak-of-Serenity-and-back-whose-name-I-can't-really-remember-right-now etc.)

>Why is this separate from divine or nature magic?
Some schools of magic and the way they are used (Holy, Nature, Frost and Fire spells to some extent) depend on factors other than the caster:

>Paladins using Holy magic are basically asking the Light for a morsel of its power to heal/damage/mitigate damage. Not only it requires the ability to channel and use Holy magic, but faith in one's motives and the Light's approval. Or, like the Blood Elves did, just imprison a Naaru and steal his powers.

>Normal Shaman (as opposed to Dark Shaman) basically have a contract signed with elementals to grant them power in exchange for, basically, acting as a mediator between the chaotic forces of nature. Every time you see a Shaman casting Lava Burst, he's communing with the elements and asking some Fire/Lava Elemental to give him the power to throw a blob of magma at someone, because he saved his ass from being turned into obsidian by the water elemental he spilt a Bloody Mary on at the last Maelstromplooza and HURRY THE FUCK UP THE TANK DIED AND THE BOSS IS RUNNING AT ME GODDAMNIT.
>>
>>48986479
I can definitely see a tank struggling to survive while the shaman is desperately trying to get his heal spell from the elements.
>>
>>48986479
I always thought that the shaman's agreements were longstanding things
Like, you make the agreements with the elements, and they grant you the power to do crazy shit, you don't have to ask them for help for every lava burst or lightning bolt
>>
>>48986348
>You can study and learn it. Everyone has the potential to do so as far as I know.

Sorta. You have to be born with the talent for arcane; I think the same is the case with fel, but I believe you can be granted it be a demonic benefactor. Druidism is also something you tend to have to be born with.

Shamanism can theoretically be done by anyone, but requires permission from the elements. Or forced subjugation all the Dark Shamans, but it's not very common because the elements HATE that.

Light based powers can be done be anyone else as well, in theory, but requires a great source of faith within the user.

Shadow I believe largely requires the acknowledgment of the Old Gods, whether the user is aware of it or not.

As far as I know, they are; that's what totems are/used to be for: conduits for the elementals andspirits the shaman has made contracts/deals with. I just got too entertained by the idea of a desperate Shaman calling small favours mid-battle to avoid being turned to slurry by a dungeon boss.

>>48986705
Yes, some individuals are born with greater potential do use magic. Illidan himself was born with golden/amber eyes, a supposed sign of great aptitude for druidic magic. The Guardians of Tirisfal, starting with Alodi, possibly wouldn't have reached that absurd level of power through willpower and grit alone, this isn't a shonen anime yet.

Fel magic is wishy-washy. It depends strongly on the user's willpower and capabilities; there was some discussion in the last thread about which class is the most powerful, and Warlock was consistently at or very near it. As a Warlock, you certainly have the largest power pool to draw from, but it is extremely risky if you can't control what you've got.

Belfadin got too much power for his Blinding Light? The Undead Rogue might get his ass singed, but he'll survive (well, ou know what I mean).

The Gnome Mage lost concentration for a second? His Pyroblast will fizzle, and he'll lose some dps.

Lorewise, very few people, if anyone, does trust them. If you check them out, most Warlock trainers/npcs are isolated from everyone else.

The Warlocks in Orgrimmar were tolerated by Thrall as a necessary evil due to the Horde's size, but still had to live underground in the Cleft of Shadows. During the Siege of Orgrimmar, one of the first things he did was to give the orders to slaughter and torture every single Warlock in Orgrimmar.

Alliance-side, things aren't that much different. They have to hide in the cellar of a dive bar on the Mage Quarter, and the class trainers in Northshire hang around by the Cemetery while everyone else is together near Northshire Abbey's front door.

The same goes on in every city/settlement, as far as I know.

The draenei came to Azeroth in BC, when most of the fighting occur in Outland and Scourge activity was minimal with Naxx's defeat in vanilia and everything. Player DKs, the Ebon Blade, broke free at the start of Wrath, before the second Scourge war even started. When would draenei even die to the scourge?

Gilneans BEFORE Cata, thus making them just humans. Arthas stopped going south after Dalaran. I'm not familiar with the SFK explanation but it doesn't really sound like it make sense since playable DKs were supposed to be handpicked by Arthas himself.

I RP in my head the DK as a former buddy of mt draenei paladin. It's actually him he kills in the chapel in the starting zone. The paladin, being quite a hero, gets resurrectes by the light afterwards and onwards they go.

As a matter of fact, I basically RP all my characters as all belonging to that same group of adventurers that took down the BBEG, this way I can have branching stories and interlocking moments.

>Illidan himself was born with golden/amber eyes, a supposed sign of great aptitude for druidic magic.
However, his brother did not have the same eye color, end he ended up becoming the most powerful druid on Azeroth. I believe it's implied the connection with eye color and druidic power was purely a supersticion (presumably a bunch of powerful druids just happened to have amber eye, an otherwise rare trait, so the night elves started to associate it with druidism).

Is it possible to play an interesting and unique goblin without coming off as contrarian or a special snowflake?

I like goblins in concept, but every iteration I've seen comes off as a one-note joke. They're greedy, they like explosions, and they like building things. Almost no goblin steps outside this archetype. I have this same issue with WoW dwarves as well. The dwarven culture and history in wow is one of the coolest things I've seen in a fantasy setting, and yet every single dwarf npc only talks about beards or drinking. Dwarves however have enough variety in cultures and factions to allow for distinct characters. I honestly can't think of an interesting story for a goblin that doesn't involve them being a penny-pinching maniac, at least without making them ungobliny.

>Lor'themar: would you allow the rest of the Alliance access to reclaim Lordaeron, ending the undead threat, even though Sylvanas was once one of your own and have been the most helpful ally in the Horde?
What would this decision result in? Respect from the Alliance for doing a great favor or get Garithos'd by another human kingdom?

>Nelf faggot: would you complain about the Magic Man keeping the Little Treehugging People down and start shit? Or would you be happy to reunite with your ancient kin and help each other?

That's certainly an interesting take. I like that, a dude whose actions appear ruthless and self-serving, but his intentions aim towards helping his family or compatriots. He actually cares about people other than himself, he just expresses it differently than normal people.
>>
>>48989149
Man, goblin sappers were so rad. I don't know why, but wc2 goblins feel different to modern iterations in my head.
>>
>>48989186
AFAIK night elves are cool with high/blood elves (furion and tyrande were delighted to work with kael in FT) the highborne would probably be happy to reconnect with their descendants

imho
>>
>>48989374
>(furion and tyrande were delighted to work with kael in FT)
Yeah, but blizz employes don't remember that

One time an intern said he was replaying the warcraft 2 campaign and Metzen just started biting him.

>>48988716
>You're Sylvanas, what do?
Graft a dick and visit the elves and goats

>You're a Nelf faggot, what do?
Visit the goats
>>

I think it helps if you replace two points on the triangle.

Like when I made a goblin, I kept greed, but replaced the other two with lore hound and enslaving bulky dudes.
>>
>>48989405
How would you make a Goblin Hunter work? The two ideas I can think of is a big game hunter/poacher, or a dude trying to invent the deadliest rifle in the world.
>>
Unholy or Frost for Legion? I really want the frostmourne shards but unholy seems like the shit.
>>
>>48989769
I'd probably add in a dose of crazy cat lady.
>>
>>48989786
I went with Unholy Orc. Fuck Frostmourne. Come the Apocalypse!
>>
>>48989769
Rifle.
Goblins are techie and you're just a gunner.
The animal is just something you test your alchemy on.
>>
>>48989769
>Big Game Hunter
Play it up like that dentist who killed that rare lion. You're a Goblin, you like to kill rare and exotic things from a distance, brag about it, and enjoy the luxuries of life. Nessingwary might like to rub Talbuk feces on his face so they can't smell him, but you'd just as soon make one of your savage cohorts drag the thing you want to kill into a place where the kill will be easy and take a nice picture.

You're also selling the ivory, leather, bones, and guts to several different clients who are all going to use them for nefarious purposes.

>Poacher
Pals it up with Tauren, Trolls, Orcs, whoever. Your best buddy, buys drinks, wants to know where all those sacred beasts of lore might be located. Goes in under cover of night and kills the thing in a somewhat dickbag manner. Gets a half-chub knowing that by killing these sacred animals or holy creatures he's showing how much better he is than those primitive screwheads. Plus people always want to buy fancy fur coats, stoles, thneeds, et cetera.

A bit more open about being a dick. Cares more about making money whereas the BGH cares more about having money.

>Gun Nut.
Shit on the Iron Horde all you want, they knew the value of artillery. Killed the Legion pretty goddamn good. And ten silvers say Vol'jin--or the Banshee Queen--aren't going to be in favor of utilizing Iron Horde innovations. Because they're backwoods prims who care more about chemical weapons and there's no fuckin' sport in that. So you make guns, because you use guns, because you can always make a better gun.

What you shoot is less important than what you're shooting with, and you know for a fact you're better than some greened-up chimp with a bearded axe or some ho-hum twit with a sword and a board. They'll figure that out eventually if they have any brains; but if they did they wouldn't be using archaic weaponry.

Unholy. It's the most fun I've had since Wrath playing my DK. And I liked the weird split DW Unholy made possible at the time.

wtf
>>
>>48989898
Damn, I love all three of these. If I ever run a warcraft game, I'll definitely use these as npcs or even antagonists.
>>
>>48988716
>Sylvanas
Fake my death, disguise myself as a Belf, run to Stormwind to sate the apparently insatiable love for Human dick that the Windrunner sisters seem to have.

>Lor'themar
Start to plot the destruction of every single orc, give the Alliance the plans for Mana Bombs

>Nelf faggot
Throw a tantrum; throw an even bigger one if mage.

Had an idea for a goblin hunter a while back. Basically when everybody left the lost isles for Oggrimar, she was taking a piss in the woods and got left behind. She spent a few years in solitude with nothing but a few animals to keep her company. She went a little nuts due to the isolation and kinda forgot how to be a goblin.

I like the image of a goblin trying to cope with her isolation by trying to create a her own economy in the jungle. Just like, this little green creature trying to trade three sea shells and a pebble for a bird's nest of eggs. Eventually she goes full native and just starts hoarding pets instead of gold.

So did we ever decide on a WoW server for RP?
>>
I wanna play as NE Sentinel. How do I do it? What spec should I go with?
>>
>>48990523
Marksman Hunter
>>
>>48990142
Do we care about PvP? Because Emerald Dream is the only choice for a RPPvP server if so.

Otherwise it's probably just between Moon Guard and Wyrmrest Accord.
>>
>>48990693
I really wish they'd open up a single new RP or RPPvP realm. Just so there's something of a fresh start for a community to grow.
>>
>>48982671
Blackrock, Dragonmaw, and Mag'har are probably all but wiped out now, since they were the ones that mostly sided with Garrosh.

Warsong and Frostwolf are still around, though you won't find many of the latter in Orgrimmar.
Some Shattered Hand. Some Burning Blade as Blademasters. Some Mag'har, who can come from any of the old clans.

The only clans that were truly wiped out I think were Black Tooth Grin and Stormreaver. And the Twilight's Hammer aren't really an Orc clan anymore.
>>
>>48990693
I personally do not care for world pvp, as it just seems like a hassle to level up.
>>
>>48983728
There are Tauren "statues" made out of constellations in Ulduar, along with humans and elves and trolls. That does suggest there's more to them than just "another beast race descended from Niuzao or an unknown Bull Ancient."
>>
>>48990863
People don't really gank much these days, not like they used to, though that might change in Legion.

Mostly PvP servers have more city raids.
>>
>>48988995
I think trolls fit into every class.

Paladin/priest : troll meets windchime and proceeds to worship it since clearly it is a loa
Warlock: demons are also loa
Druid: wild gods are also loa
Demonhunter: woulden't be the first time trolls consumed loa for power
Shaman: elementals are loa
Death knight: Arthas can see the power in trolls
Mage: see zandalari
All non magic classes: go figure
>>
>>48991179
Did you know that Azeroth is really a loa waiting to be born?
