I wouldn't call any primarch better or worse objectively than any other, it's all a matter of preference. For instance, my favorite primarch is Perturabo, just because I find his characterization to be interesting.

In terms of primarchs I'd want to be my primarch, probably Jaghatai Khan, or Corvus Corax. He's like Russ without the dickishness.

Also quite a fan of Alpharius/Omegon.

My favorite is Perturabo. Although the best Primarch is probably Guilliman since he, like is his legion, is more a jack of all trades since he wasn't awful in any one area. Although limiting Space Marine chapters to only 1,000 was a mistake. 3,000 should be the norm if anything. Also he could've not gotten stabbed by Fulgrim and governed the imperium more properly.

I've just had another session of Curse of Strahd with my players, this is my first (long) campaign. They've just met Madam Eva and got their predictions.
Okay, the problematic part is, the sun sword is hidden in the tomb of the guild master, in Strahd's castle. Their last battle is supposed to happen in queen's tomb, literally a few steps away.
I don't want my players to find the ultimate weapon and artifact literally a minute before the final battle, but at the same time there doesn't really seem to be a way to leave the castle when you've entered.
Also, is there any way the characters can learn where this tomb is? At least with other treasures, they have a very vague idea of where they might be. Those are wrong ideas, but still.
But as for the guild master's tomb, how do they even learn of it's location or existance before literally randomly bumping into it while going to meet Strahd?

Help me understand something

"Hussar", "Dragoon", and "Cuirassier" are all regionally/culturally specific names for different grades of cavalry. E.g. "cuirassier" is just the French word for Heavy Cavalry (because you're wearing a Cuirasse), whereas "Hussar" is the Polish word for light cavalry, and in turn there is a Polish term for heavy cavalry and a French term for light cavalry - is that correct?

How would I go about starting a D&D club at my college campus?

I know that it needs some form of extracurricular/developmental spin on it to make seem beneficial to the school, but I figure if the anime club can maintain it's "cultural appreciation" stance when it's just a bunch of nerds sitting in a dark room watching cartoons, then a D&D club with a bunch of nerds sitting in a dark room rolling dice could be construed as "team skill building, leadership and public speaking skills, and possibly quick mathematical problem solving", although I could probably use some help with this.

What else would I need to consider when starting up a club as niche as TTRPG?

I mean I get that a TTRPG club wouldn't be much better but at least at the one on my campus we're neckbeards that understand common decency. Every anime/video game club I've come across has been like a containment club for the assholes you don't want to be around.

Anyways besides obviously D&D, dunno if foods going to be something you wanna deal with.

Is this going to be geared towards getting newer people into the hobby, or people already into tabletop. Because if it's the latter, you might wanna make sure you know people who are interested in the first place.

We don't use a lot of music, just some ambient background appropriate to wherever the party is.

If music is playing it's because a character's making that happen, be it via instrument, voice or tape player.

So the idea here is the "House of Raptors" a chapter that have are fixated on the saruian beasts much like the wolves but aren't so crass as to wear the remains on their armor or take them into battle outside the royal hunts, Though their plumage might adorn their helms or capes tastefully and they will bear their image on their heraldry (some of their war machines might also be made to resemble them), they are really classy guys, seeing a need to live up to the image of "Emperor's Finest" the armor is midnight blue with fancy gold Filigree, often patterned in emulation of the top marines they know of like the Deathwatch or Grey Knights.though for melee they favor thing power cuttlass and rapiers

This focus on being the elite has enabled them to hang onto some relic weapons like a contemptor or the like, while arrogant and convinced they are among the best they make efforts to live up to it, and that includes saving people, sometimes too much, they might be called in to support a Guard advanced and then rush in to do it all themselves, convinced they are that good and as the Emperor's finest it is their duty to lessen the burden of the lesser men

thoughts? suggestions, I'm uncertain who they are descended from or other details, also homebrew chapter thread I guess

Does anyone have art and stuff depicting soldiers/buildings ect in a futuristic setting that has an aesthetic similar to Renaissance Europe? Pic related (yes its a thumbnail but its all I could find) is a city shot that has kinda the vibe I'm looking for. Stuff that's colorful, opulent, gilded, ect.

40k comes close but is too gothic and gloomy. I'm looking for something shinier in both a metaphorical and literal sense.

I need this stuff because I'm brainstorming a space campaign with a friend of mine and trying to show him that futuristic metropolises don't have to be all modernist architecture and generic space settings.

So yeah any art like that would be great.

I don't know who that white-armored lady is, but she seems to specialize in TrĂ kata, the lightsaber style that takes advantage of the fact that lightsabers, unlike most weapons, can *switch off*. And she's doing it with a lightsaber pike.
