Like the title says, I'm looking for games where I can defend people in a court of law almost entirely through bluffing whilst uncovering the real criminal.

Finger pointing isn't necessary, but greatly encouraged.

I can't help you, but what do you imagine the mechanics to that kind of game would be?
>>
GURPS Mysteries has more to do with the detective's work rather than court proceedings, but since the evidence is discussed so much I'm sure it's helpful.

I wonder if you can import some stuff from GURPS Social Engineering for the social combat and the finger pointing.
>>

L5R in a court setting has some potential for lawyering. There is are courtier schools with dedicated social combat techniques and the setting has some unique quirks regarding law.

I can also see a legal campaign in shadowrun working out.

Talislanta has a law skill at least.

If your GM is on board I this can work out in most games to be honest.

Hey /tg/

How come there are so few norse themed settings? And I mean proper norse themed, no borderline fetished leather-clad bikers like Vikings or them being depicted as witless barbarians with horned helmets. I mean the homeland shenanigans of early medieval north germanic populations. The relatively democratic Things, the lack of feudalism, and intricacies of old norse faith. Maybe I just haven't looked hard enough, but they always show up as shallow, plastered on factions that dwell in the nondescript "north".

The norse peoples being known as "the vikings" is kinda weird anyway. It was a job/a thing you did for money, not their cultural or ethnic identity.

So, anons, what kind of shit did your former/current DMs tried to pull? Any sort of confusing, spergy, creepy or cringey shit allowed.

Mine story:
>DM promises political campaign in a developed fantasy world, basically War of Roses with magic
>Sounds fun
>Start reading lore, pumped
>Notice there are, like, 6 elven kingdoms
>Ask DM if having six elven races is really necessary
>"uhm, ACKCHUALLY they are all one elven race, just six different kingdoms"
>mfw
>try to explain to him this makes no fucking sense, he's adamant it does
>fuck it, fine, i'm gonna be playing dwarf regardless
>Go over dwarven lore
>It's a balkanized clusterfuck
>what the fuck
>DM explains it's a succession dispute gone awry
>Now instead of having a certain race to play as i have to slog through dwarven clan relations
>Tell DM it's easier to make every clan a different dwarven sub-race
>He gets upset for some reason

Not sure if i should go back, but probably will, just to see how terrible it will get with no clear distinction within races.

Just think OP, instead of spending the time creating this post, you could have tried finding an actual group to play with.
>>
>>50945303
>Meet some wizard in the middle of a dungeon
>Has a whole fuckload of artifacts and magic weapons aropund for some reason
>No, he's not going to let you have them
>No, you can't steal them
>Fighting him would be a "bad idea" because of course he's better than us in every way
>Literally there just to be a cocktease

Fuck you Jerry. I know you're reading this.
>>
>>50945303
OP You seem angry. How do different elven kingdoms for the same race not make sense? There would literally be dozens of ways to justify and explain this.

So my group is trying for the first time the infamous 3.5, we have on hiatus a long campaign (3 years, on average each 2.5 weeks, level 13) of 4th edition (it was our first rpg experience and 5th wasn't out yet).
I'd like to request an advice to build a Warforged (or Human, still haven't decided) Artificer.
We're using the player's handbook, Complete Adventurer, Complete Arcane, Complete Divine, Complete Warrior and Eberron Campaign Setting.

>>
>>50945229
>denoting volume element's dimensions through basis coordinates
>using triangle delta that isn't infinitesimal
Absolutely disgusting.
>>
It's not all that straight-forward, because an artificer is kind of an advanced class, but there's plenty of synergy with being a warforged and an artificer. If it's your first time, I might recommend playing a simpler class, but if you're really into the idea you can find a bunch of guides online.

That's one of the good things about 3.5, in that it's been played and written about quite extensively.

Nuking your allies because you can edition.

* IP Address: intcraft.online
* Server Version: 1.10.2
* Chien's World Map
* Towny, Brewery, meme recipes, word filter and more..

RP and General Rules
There is only one rule: Don’t be a shitter. If you follow this set of rules, you are thereby not a shitter and you are in theory allowed to do what you want on Intcraft, and it will be up to the server population and community to put an end to their own disputes.

Roleplay

1. Building a town/nation must be historically accurate for that location given the current time (650-600BC)
2. Buildings do not have to be 100% accurate, variations are allowed.
3. Towns do not have to be exactly in the same geographical location as they were, but it should be in the same general area.
5. If you only want to buildfag, join a Town, Nation, or get gud.
6. Nations can spread through conquest or diplomacy, but no Atlantic Federation tier memes.

General Rules

1. No spam
2. No hacking
3. No advertising
6. No advertising /int/craft to unapproved boards/sites
7. No talking about Anime

Moderators and Janitors will strictly enforce these clear rules only, if you arent breaking any rules there will be no punishment.
Neither Moderators or Janitors will recieve creative mode, or anything of the sort that would have much potential of game breaking abuse. They strictly exist to enforce the current set rules to some degree until an admin is available.

Yeah I've been running a campaign for a while and seen a few other anons post about theirs too. It's the first RPG anyone in my group has played (including me) and we've really enjoyed it.

It's fairly crunchy and I still haven't worked out all the rules for spaceship combat, but everything else eventually falls into place. We're really enjoying it though so I'd recommend it. Probably worth playing the free stuff on the website to see if it's your bag. Is there anything you wanted to know in particular?

I'm currently in the process of designing a 360 card cube to occasionally bring to my LGS, I've always talked about my fond memories of the cards and the newer players have always wanted to find it out for themselves. Along with the original cards, I've also included a lot of the 'draft matters' cards from both Conspiracy sets for extra wackiness. However, some of the cards such as Gleemax, BFM, etc. are quite difficult to play but yet are iconic. BFM is obviously a no go, but how much 'silliness' should I exclude for actual synergy in order to play some of these cards? One thought came to mind that Goblin Welder is a decent include, but at what point does it stop being Un and start being a shittier Powered Cube? I just want to make the experience as varied as possible to give them all the best taste of Unhinged I can.

I suggest banning gotcha cards from the cube. Overall Maro considered the mechanic an un-fun mistake. Especially with Laughing Hyena. If you must have a Gotcha card, I recommend Stop That, the Gotcha card Maro regrets the least (I think by a decisive margin).

Some un cards mention teammates. So perhaps you could try to make it a 2HG cube somehow, or something.
>>
>>50943959
That's a valid point, a lot of the cards have some pretty harsh punishments. However I plan on keeping Stop That no matter what, because that is often how "Un" sets became a topic of discussion at our store anyway. There's one That Guy who flicks his cards obnoxiously every few seconds and this would be a great way to mess with people.

As for 2HG, that's a pretty good idea, some of the funniest limited games I've ever played have been 2HG, especially during BFZ where I bluffed the other team for 10 minutes by just whispering to my opponent after every turn.

I've currently added one copy of every Un-card to the list, and I'm systematically removing ones that don't work and also adding multiples of cards like S.N.O.T., any other things you'd recommend? I'm thinking Bronze Bombshell from Ravnica and Hornet Sting from M11 as some noteworthy includes outside the sets.

How do you feel about campaigns whose climax requires a heroic sacrifice from one of the players?

I think it's fine as long as you don't try to force a particular player into the role, and have a nonstandard game over prepared in case no one wants to take the hit.

Being prepared to accept creative third options that don't result in anyone dying is a must, too.

>Being prepared to accept creative third options that don't result in anyone dying is a must, too.

This is key.

That the standard solution requires a heroic sacrifice? Fine. Railroading people out of any potential method of getting around it? Bullshit.

It'd honestly be an interesting thing to start a campaign with. Having it known, whether through prophecy or some other means, that the life of a hero must be spent to secure absolute victory. It'd create an interesting dynamic amongst the party, fighting against evil yet knowing that winning will ultimately cost the life of at least one of their friends.
