The war for cybertron has reached it's close, and the Transformer race has fallen from grace.

With the Autobots in Exile, and the Decepticon leader Megatron in pursuit of the last Prime, Cybertron has fallen under the rule of a Cold, Brutal dictator.... Shockwave

Most of Cybertrons citizens, still shell-shocked and left with their lives in tatters have been forced under the Decepticon banner one way or another. After all, the prospect of living another day outweighs that of being dragged off to the pits of Kaon... or one of Shockwaves many laboratories, now in plain view in every major Cybertronian city.

With the lifeblood of cybertron drained by both sides, and the core sent into hibernation, the Decepticons control all the remaining significant Energon reserves, 95% of it's surface, and have begun sculpting society into their twisted mantra of perfection, and the survival of the strongest.

But hope still remains, some have rejected the perfection Shockwave and the Decepticons have enacted upon Cybertron... Free spirits, Turncoats, Veterans of the war, and of course Autobots that chose to remain behind now adapt and fight a guerrila war against a merciless and calculating Tyrant...

You are one of those who choose to stand up and fight for freedom...

So soldier... What is your name and your origin?

(Hey, this is my first quest thread I've ever attempted... so bear with me if I am slow)

(Also, it might be easier if we decided upon one transformer's story rather than everyone going for their own as I might have difficulty juggling multiple stories)

(I'll explain more of the quest rules as we go... just thought I'd see if anyone was interested.)

Name: Scrapkill
Disillusioned veteran - neither side
A citizen who took up arms to protect his community during the war, he hates both sides and blames them equally for the destruction. However the decepticons are the only ones in reach.

I'd go with former Decepticon, it makes for interesting dialogue with former comrades, a transformer seeking redemption for war crimes.
It will also give him a preset of a skilled soldier and combatant especially if he survived the mettalic hell of the war.

Cattle die, kindred die,
Every man is mortal:
But the good name never dies
Of one who has done well

Cattle die, kindred die,
Every man is mortal:
But I know one thing that never dies,
The glory of the great dead

~Vereingjar proverb

Welcome to the second thread of Vereingjar Quest! Your name is Erland, a combat medic currently serving on a Vereingjar frigate. During your latest mission something went south. Twelve brave men and women got dropped on an alien planet with orders to raid the aboriginal creatures inhabiting it; half of you survived. After being put in charge you managed to get the dysfunctional group of survivors to safety in, more or less, one piece. Now your story continues.

The solid chemical booster’s roar comes to a sudden halt, and everything goes quiet. Even though you’re strapped in your seat tightly you can feel the sensation that is weightlessness. Once Drekkar’s radars sniff you out they’ll be able to make radio contact and arrange for docking.

You did well today. I sure as shit wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you. I’m in your debt, shieldmaiden.

“No, no you’re not” Dana answers with her eyes fixed on Gier, who’s still unconscious. “Few Vereingjar would risk their life for a tráel, for one of us, for a… slave. But you did, over and over. I’m forever thankful, but Doctor, may I ask why?”

>”Life is precious, and I take great pride in saving it, no matter whom it belongs to.”
>”He’s of more use to everyone alive than dead, wouldn’t you agree? We could not afford to lose any more able warriors, it was worth the risks.”
>”It was foolish of me, no doubt. He can consider himself lucky, I won’t put myself in such danger for a slave again.”
>”You may not.”

Life is precious, and I take great pride in saving it, no matter whom it belongs to. You realize it sounds a bit cheesy, but it’s the truth.

“Well that is very noble of you, Doctor. Thank you, once again; I’ll make sure Gier knows what you have done for him, once I’m able to.”

Out the tiny window you can see the turquoise planet turning slowly underneath you. Amazing how a place which seemed so horrific has turned breathtakingly beautiful in less than an hour, you just had to ‘zoom out’ a bit.

”Pssssshhhtttt - Drekkar to AV-4.4 and 4.5, we got you in our sights. Taking over onboard thrust controls within thirty seconds, prepare for docking. Over.”

Good thing I don’t have to dock manually, I don’t know why but people seem to assume that, since I’m a surgeon, I’d also be good at maneuvering a spacecraft. Not true!

The docking goes smoothly. You align with Raoul, Torsten, and Einar’s capsule for the last part, resulting in Raoul waving to you sarcastically. You’re greeted by the Chieftain’s own guard, which also operates as peacekeepers onboard the frigate. You suppose they just wanted to make sure what came out of those AVs were, in fact, human.

You have to pass a few medical examinations (some of which you designed yourself) in order to bypass quarantine. No problem. Gier is sent directly to the medical bay; you can tell Dana is about to protest their separation but stops herself. Slaves are not permitted to engage in relationships, it is deemed to raise the risk of revolt. Another official reason is controlling the slave population, something that previously was done through oophorectomy. A step in the right direction, you figure.

“Only five?” The Chieftain’s voice is drenched with disgust. “Actually ma’am, there were six survivors. A tráel has been brought directly to receive medical attention. Last I heard his condition is sta…” the guard gets interrupted, “I give a rat’s ass about the slave’s condition! Erland, you were second in command when your mission launch, you stand before me in first. I’m still missing a lot of details, details that can wait. There will be a meeting first thing in the morning, but tell me, was the mission at least partially successful? Did you manage to bring back the CH4?”

Ahem, no ma’am, I’m afraid we did not. The risks were t...

Long story short:
People from old city of Exerre ran away far from their homes due to enemy raids and to seek new, better land to settle on. They can still trade with old city if it survives.
The city-state of Exerre was one day very prosperious and strong but waged too many wars at once to gain new lands. Enemies destroyed their army and started to ravage their lands. Our people are now far away from them but they can seek to settle nearby in future.

What to do now?

"Oh come on... Tell me I didn't just spent three hours of my precious free time just for... That !"

The first voice you ever hear, instead of being a motherly tone gently humming to you, is the visibly pissed of sqeeking of what seems to be an androgynous teenager with pointy ears and a weird fashion sense.

"Can it even talk ?"

He is sitting in a wooden armchair and a starving woman, wearing a white silk robe, is gently waving a fan next to him. Her gaze is lost in void, as if her mind left ages ago. The egocentric twat leans towards you to observ you.

You suddenly feel like a disgusting insect is crawling up your eye socket and scream in pain while the magic mangling your mind search for all the details of what, in essence, you are.

And what are you ?
Female ? Male ? Is this question irrelevant ? What do you look like ? After all, as a creature built by the decadent magic of the Fae, you could be anything really. But nothing too frightening for them. They are corrupted by sin. Not stupid.

"So, how do you think the repairs are going?" Zeus ask as the pair of you stood in the line in the mess hall. You had landed yesterday evening only to be told that your bird needed some serious overhaul, the strain of TOPGUN's flight schedule had taken it's toll on your bird. And today you had gone up on your first training flight in someone else's jet, your jet was still undergoing repairs at the time.

Then again, you weren't the first person to suffer aircraft related problems. The flight schedule had been upped from 2 flights per day to 3 just after your scramble training with flight 32. And in correlation more aircraft started suffering mechanical problems. Davenport, the worst pilot in TOPGUN had also suffered the worst mechanical failure. His bird had suffered a landing gear failure during final approach, he'd been lucky that none of his fuel tanks had ruptured as that would have lead to a massive explosion, which would had destroyed the aircraft and killed him.

Though in any case, you were scheduled to have a flight with Kenji flying on your wing later. The Germans were flying aggressor flights for the USAF, simulating Iranian F-14Bs while their aircraft was undergoing engine replacement and other repairs.

"Hopefully the repairs will be finished by the time head up on our next flight." You responded as the chef passed you back your tray, with actually recognisable food on it.

One of the benefits of being on a state-side base, the food was more recognisable than anything you were served in the fleet.

"Hey here's hoping." Zeus added as he took his tray. "The B 'cat may be more advanced than the A model, but it can't shape up to our bird."

You grabbed a cup of water to go with your food and looked for a place to sit and eat.

Sitting at one table was Slider and Mags, chatting happily. Meanwhile at the other table was Kenji and Tatsuko. They were also chatting, except in Japanese. Though you could also see a number of empty tables, where you eat in peace.

>Sit with the Brits, see how they are doing.
>Sit with the Japs, see how they are doing.

>(Welcome back to Beacon Hunter quest)

In the last thread, you made you way through the archive ship and stole the data you needed, though you'll still need to sift through it to find exactly what you're looking for. On the way you picked up a strange girl and stole an umbound trinket and a powerful old suit of armor for your new companion. You finally escaped by stealing a fighter class spaceship and teleporting away, narrowly escaping your nemesis Morne.

Archive here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/453245/

Now you find yourself in the Vesua system. Safe for the time being. Most people would have been out of luck in your situation; no space station or port in this system would let a Somnius ship dock unmolested, after all. Most people, however, don't have your experience with archeotechnology or your skills as a Navigator. You are currently taking shelter inside the Vesua system's beacon, recovering your strength and planning your next move.

>focus pool: 13/13

Well, you were doing those things before you were interrupted.

A girl's voice echoes through the cavernous space you're currently waiting in. The sound reverberates against the walls and below the catwalk you stand on, creating the sense that it's coming from every direction. "I got it! I got it!"

The statement repeats, each echo quieter than the last, until the sound stops reaching whatever it is to your side that's reflecting it and the location of its origin becomes apparent. You turn to face Araella as she runs towards you. She holds the contraption you threw together in front of her.

"Check it out." She brandishes the circuit at you.

It's a makeshift thing, modeled after a fleeting memory you had of a training device used by a friend of yours. It's just a battery and homemade speaker, thrown together from the odds and ends Araella cannibalized from the archive ship. They're attached together in order to create a circuit. Well, almost create a circuit. The key is that it's broken. The Navigator-in-training is supposed to complete it.

Araella sets the broken circuit down in front of you, then sits down beside it. She closes her eyes. You know what's coming. You look to your trinket and allow yourself to become aware of your surroundings, expanding your mind. As you do, the area around you comes into painfully sharp focus. The walls around you and the catwalk seem to contort, twisting into impossible shapes. The space between you and them appears to intermittently fracture and repair itself. The whole experience would be surreal if you hadn't been in a beacon before. As it is, this is nothing new to you. You take your attention off your bizarre surroundings and direct it towards the broken circuit instead, its lack of abnormal characteristics contrasting harshly with the environment around it.

You allow your perception to shift ever so slightly to Araella, but you try to hold back to avoid being burned. You just want to see her spirit, not get hit by it. It extends past her body, strangely unbounded and undisciplined as though her spirit is fire and she's simply the fuel that it burns from. Near her left hand you notice a difference though. She's extended it over the circuit. Her energy instead of radiating away is directed as though propelled. It flows violently from her to her target, the difference between it and the rest of her is like the difference between a torch and a flamethrower. You're pretty sure that she's overdoing it, but this isn't really your area of expertise. The energy bathes the device, though when you look at it through your eyes instead of your mind you see nothing.

Araella rolled 18, 9, 10 vs effective DC 21, spent 14 for regular failure

After a few moments of projected spirit washing over the circuit, the speaker makes a popping noise. It pops again, then another time sooner than the first. The pops become more frequent until they end up as a sort of regular white noise emitting from the speaker. The sound is like that of a heavy wind blowing on a fire, which seems appropriate. After a few moments of that, Araella cuts it off.

She looks at you. "Boom. Easy." A bead of sweat drips from her forehead.

>Araella's focus: 16/31

You're not sure whether or not to be impressed. On the one hand, from what you know about this kind of exercise the newest and least experienced trainees capable of performing it at all produce a single tone. More experienced Navigators ar able to manipulate the energy more finely, causing the speaker to emit series of notes, then any imaginable sound. The noise Araella created was unrefined and chaotic, but on the other hand she picked up the skill of using focus directly faster than you believed possible. You didn't really have to explain anything, she just made it work. That alone exceeded your expectations. Combined with the fact that she's able to project energy enough to complete the circuit to activate the speaker, it's very impressive for someone with as little experience as her.

You opt to congratulate her. "Pretty good. That's an intermediate's exercise, and although you didn't do it right you did show that you have the basics down. Expending as much effort as possible to succeed will only get you so far. Next time try to modulate the flow of the energy you're projecting. The speaker should be emitting a single constant tone. Still, I'm very impressed, getting it to make any noise at all is beyond what most people with your experience are capable of."

>2/3
>>
>>504252

Though you're not sure how long she's technically been a navigator, the speed at which she picked up the basics once you explained them is far beyond anything you've ever heard of. Most people take weeks to perform even the simplest task by projecting focus externally. You remember the first thing you tried. You were just trying to figure out how many rocks there were behind a barrier with your extrasensory perception. Now a task that you could do with an instant to focus, at the time it was far beyond your capabilities. It took days to even get your perception outside of you in the first place. For Araella it took moments.

You continue. "For now you should get some rest. I can tell that that took a lot out of you, and we're going to be heading to somewhere potentially very hostile. The Beacon is a great place to recover your energy but I have to confess that I don't really know the best way for you to go about doing so. For me, I let my mind rest on some anomaly in the Beacon. Sleep always works fine too. I'd suggest that you look for some sort of weird energy. Maybe somewhere where your hair stands on end. That might work for you."

She responds to the affirmative and then walks off. Turning a corner and disappearing behind a geometric metal structure which floats unsupported near the catwalk.

You turn your mind to plans for your next move. You want to explore the ruins on Illica, but you're not really sure where to start. You're not even there though, and that's the next step. You'll figure out where to go once you arrive. For now you have a couple options. You could:

>Teleport to somewhere in Illica's orbit path. It'll have a high risk of detection, since ships are going to be around the planet and looking out. The Vesuans are quite insular, and they're likely to be prepared for anyone jumping in close to their planets.

>Fly there manually. You'll jump just outside the beacon and just head over to the planet. You can take an awkward vector and be pretty stealthy. There's still a moderate chance you're detected, but few people are going to expect someone to waste hours flying from the beacon when they could have just jumped directly.

>Jump directly onto the planet's surface. Instead of risking detection, you'll just jump right onto the planet. It's an incredibly risky maneuver, but you have the skill to pull it off, probably. You'll just need to calculate the exact path of Illica and figure out exactly where the planet is going to be as you perform your jump. You'll have a bit of leeway as long as you get the absolute spacial coordinates within the planet's gravitational field, since the location you're teleporting too will move along with the planet.

Your protagonists will die, permanently, but fear not! Before each hero embarks on their quest to free the land from evil, they marry and have children, ensuring their bloodline will not die with them, and providing the next intrepid adventurer to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors when they come of age.

Unfortunate and stupid heroes might face insta-kills, unwinnable situations, and general doom. The best and brightest will slowly progress through the dungeon, but will still likely face their inevitable death.

No one hero will beat the dungeon, only by building up a strong family of heroes, investing in your hometown/stronghold to acquire better resources, passing down knowledge, wealth, and loot.

Last time on legacy quest:
>Willow fell through the floor of the dungeon, bringing her closer to her goal, but landing her in a Dwarven city!
>Hosted by a somewhat manic dwarven smith, she's discovered that in order to move further into the dungeon she requires access to a portal in the town Administrator's office.
>She's been dragged into the politics and civil turmoil of the city, and has been presented with a few options to get to the Administrator's office, and thus, the portal...

So, faced with Ferelda, the less conservative guard captain's offer, Willow must give an answer:

>I will help you (Infiltrate Hightown, and arrest the Administrator. Although he will likely face minimal punishment due to his power, it's better than Vycek's vigilante punishment idea.)
>I will not help you (Vycek's offer was better. I can't let a corrupt official, who has been stealing from the people, get away with only a slap on the wrist. Better he face the "unofficial" justice of a sharp blade.
>I'm not interested. (These aren't my problems, I'll to find my own way to the portal, even if it is heavily guarded, and in a part of town I can't gain access to.)

Note that if siding with either Vycek or Ferelda, this doesn't stop you from deviating from their respective plans later, with whatever consequences that might cause...

I will have to disappear for a small while later, but I aim to keep the thread running (with occasional breaks) for a long time. Let's make the 10th thread a good one!

In this episode of AvP quest we will go back a little bit. We will learn what Lady Xeno Waifu's backstory is. What she did in the hive. And how she joined our intrepid crew.

Just for referance, here's the other 5 parts of this saga:

Part 1: http://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/43906997/#43912005
Part 2: http://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/43944003/#43944003
Part 3: http://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/43980016/#43980016
Part 4: http://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/44089403/#44089403
Part 5: http://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/45155518/#45155518

Now, let's fucking GO

...

You are a lady xenomorph. You've woken up in this room of your hive. It's a little run down from the time your queen murdered all the humans that lived here with facebabies, but it's still a pretty good place for you to crash. If anything, this is probably the most well kept room in the hive. It even has working books. But anyway, today is another day, how do you start it?
